Magis is currently the most disappointing and bland general right now, not to mention the fact that he's extremely weak and easily swarmed. Here's 4 abilities that could make him more interesting.

Basic attack: Summons a bolt of lightning that strikes a single unit, dealing 25 damage and gives them the voltaic and burn damage effect. (Cooldown: 5 seconds)

Ability 1: Personal Shield
Just like a meric shield ability that lasts 6 seconds. (Cooldown: 25 seconds)

Ability 2: Voltaic Field
The same thing currently, making a pool of electricity that charges enemies. (Cooldown: 15 seconds)

Ability 3: Electric Wall
Similiar to magikill's ability from Stick War 2, Summons an immovable electricity wall that damages enemies the longer they stay in it.
Does 20 damage, which increases by 5 every second for every individual unit that's within its range. (Example: the unit takes 20 damage right when they enter, and takes 25 damage the next second. This increase of damage resets when the unit leave the electric wall.
(Wall lasts for 5 seconds) (Cooldown: 60 seconds)

Ability 4: Shock Chain
Zaps a unit that's the closest to it, (50 damage) knocking them down and charging them with voltaic damage. If other units are around that damaged unit, it will also shock them, with a weaker effect, stunning them and doing 20 damage instead of 50, but still providing them with voltaic charge. The electricity can bounce to a total of 6 units, as long as they're all close to one another.
(Cooldown: 35 seconds)

I literally beaten magis by only using my AI friend's army on insane difficulty

With just his volt field alone (or whatever tf it's called, it has no official name as of now), he's already a better AOE general than Wrathnar could ever be. Like volt spark it does 2dmg/tick and a max of 9 ticks, doing a max of 18dmg, and that's with no AOE cap and only if the effect isn't reapplied (and it's almost guaranteed to be reapplied since it's hard to get out of its range).

He has LS as his ability too.. with a very short cooldown

That's not even mentioning his built in bubble, more importantly his thunder ability which chains volt dmg with only a 3s cooldown. He also has a passive which will allow him to summon Minions like a regular magik once below a certain amount of hp

Not only is his single-target DPS good (at least for an AOE spellcaster), his AOE is pretty much how to commit genocide 101

His base stats are also pretty good. 50dmg and I'm gonna assume his multiplayer version is also going to be bulky af, just not as much as his boss version

Also, don't forget that AI doesn't get temple

So his short cooldowns and ridiculous ability uptimes are just the raw stats

Honestly, the biggest problem with Magis rn is that the campaign didn't do him justice

Honestly, voltaic revolt should've been the the last chapter, or at least in the later stages of the campaign
