How to make Events great

Step 1: Make Event cost half the amount it currently does.

Step 2: Force the player to use 5 cards that are picked for them, but allows them to bring 3 more cards of their choice.

The decks being completely random was never the problem, so no need for the second one. Many games have done this and it encouraged players to get out of their comfort zone to try something new and learn how to use different strats/cards they wouldn't normally be using, learning how to adapt instead of abusing and slaving away at meta decks. The problem is some decks in these events are just ass and some cards are just plain bad with no hope of being saved.

They need to, obviously, balance the game first. Then hire some gms or atleast some people who know how to keep the theme of each event while still balancing fun and viability when making decks

Perhaps, but allowing players to pick 2 or 3 cards could give them a better chance at winning. Also, since the decks are all different, people can't just bring the meta cards like spears or kytchu, since some decks aren't suitable for them.

I got a magic Tesla spearcher deck with thera once, if I could choose 3 cards, I could've just replaced magiks and thera for kytchu and CW or glacial fletching, and then, I would've been damn near unstoppable

A lot of event decks would benefit WAY too much from CW archis/kytchu

What if the deck was picked out for you, but you could switch one card out for one that you choose?

Idk if that would make a difference since I never played events

tbh, I never had this problem, cause I never play the events. The gem price is outrageous

They should have high lvl players make the event decks

and it'll give grinding high ranks a purpose other than bragging rights

The last time they made decks for a tournament, some of them ended up being absurd as hell
