After a successful breakthrough, the Chaos Empire’s main force marched through The Chokepoint, previously guarded by Atreyos. In a pincer maneuver, the Order army were slaughtered on the grassy plains before Iris Capital, creating a blood red carpet to King Zarek's throne.

THE GAUNTLET

”The palace is within sight. The capital is completely surrounded, and all communications have been cut off with any exterior parties. The soldiers are quivering and scurrying about on the walls surrounding the perimeter. I reason that my father will be there to encourage them, though I fear that he may not be alone.”

-The Marrowkai, Crownhead of Dual Empires

PRELUDE

A horde of Deads scurry across the field towards the walls of Castle Iris.

Kytchu: “Fire!”

A rain of arrows hail upon the undead, and they whince in pain as they collapse to the ground. Hiding among the pile of corpses, Bombers emerge and rush the gates. Several are shot down, but many more managed to bombard the entrance to the castle, causing the doors to be flung open.

Zarek: “This is where we draw the line! Not a step back!”

Upon the king's word, a phalanx of Speartons and a clan of Archidons emerge, as well as Engineers to deploy walls as a secondary perimeter, given that the gates have faltered. In the distance, outside artillery range, the Marrowkai watches. His two hollow red eyes watch the reserve of troops spew out of the castle to the front gates.

Marrowkai: “Our campaign ends with the capital under our banner. Attack!”

Hordes of creatures rush towards the castle gates, and the screen fades to black…

THE BATTLE
General Information
●The enemy deck consists of: n/a
●Order begins with the advantage of having a majority of the battlefield (⅘) with several defensive rows already placed and manned with units.
●The win condition has been changed from destroying the enemy statue to successfully passing a housing space of 100 units through the gates.
●The lose condition is that you must complete the mission under 10 minutes and prevent your statue from being destroyed.

Gimmicks
●Several Generals will be present in this battle.
○King Zarek (untargettable): set atop the walls surrounding Capital Iris. While his empire crumbles around him, he continues to rally his men, and so long as he graces them with his presence, they will fight until the last.
○Kytchu (untargettable): set atop the walls next to her father. She will call down occasional barrages of arrows upon your units, which occur more frequently the closer you are to the gates. On higher difficulties, barrages will be more coordinated and will be conducted on vulnerable units, i.e. Eclipsors.
○Xiphos: albeit being the youngest, the prince chooses to stand at the forefront of the remains of his father's empire. He is accompanied by a platoon of Swordwrath and a handful of Speartons.
○Shade: the rarest instance to happen. When the timer exceeds 3:00, she will eventually appear with a squadron of Shadowrath where you are not looking and inflict Shinobi before disappearing. On higher difficulties, she and her Shadowrath will linger for a while before disappearing.
○Thera (untargettable): when a housing space of 50 units have successfully passed the gates, she will appear and loom over the center of the battlefield, encased in a bubble. All enemy units will be affected by Flight of the Foretold for the remainder of the battle.
○Icaron (untargettable): when Xiphos and Shade are defeated, Icaron will appear to collect them from the battlefield.

Call to Arms
When a total housing space of 25/50/75 units have successfully passed the gates, King Zarek will order Kytchu to have the battlefield bombarded and showered with artillery. Following this, Icaron and Albowtrosses will appear and restock the defensive line, however, it will gradually become smaller. For instance, at the start of the battle, Order has control of ⅘ of the battlefield, but this will gradually reduce to ⅗, ⅖, and then ⅕. The amount of barricades present on the field will decrease per phase, but the variety and frequency of units emerging from Castle Iris will increase.

CONCLUSION
Post-battle Cutscene
King Zarek and the Royal Siblings flee behind the castle walls and into the palace, where the doors are locked firmly to ward off the inevitable march just a moment's breath away from them. The hurry to the top floor of the palace and on to a deck where Icaron and a group of Albowtross await them.

Zarek: “Go!—children!”

Shade and Xiphos, battered and bruised, as well as Thera and Kytchu, having several scratches of their own from escaping the invading horde, hobble towards the Albowtrosses and hurriedly leave without objection. Icaron and Zarek are left alone.

Icaron: “Father?”

The king shakes his head at his son's offer to carry him.

Zarek: “No, my boy. This tragedy was of my own doing, and I will not prolong it.”

Icaron: “You were keeping secrets? But why…?”

Zarek: “Go! You and the others are innocent in this matter.”

The doors to the palace are busted open. Icaron quickly leaves while Zarek is apprehended by Juggerknights…

Order can't keep their eyes on every corner of Inamorta. To do so, they would have to thin out their forces and spread them to outposts throughout the land, in which they did for my canon. Because they got too greedy and spreaded it too thinly for full control over Inamorta, the Marrowkai launched coordinated attacks on colonies set up within former Chaos Empire territory, and continued to drive back the Order Empire to their own capital.

A massive defence was set on the plains before the Iris Capital, however, a flank route was left unchecked, allowing the Chaos Empire to mount a pincer attack and crush the main force, leaving only the remnants at Zarek and the Royal Sibling's disposal.
