Without catapult mode e giant are balance it takes time for them to got up and down to shoot but catapult mode just remove that weakness
Sure catapult mode takes more dmg and cant move but the peaks (dmg, splash, range) just make up for it
So i have 2 ideas for this

  1. Remove catapult mode(the easiest way to balance them)
  2. Make catapult mode only hit units in a straight line: this will force the enemy to put E giants in a very tight space alowing CA Giants and other splash to deal more dmg

I do think the damage buff catapult mode gives is unnecessary,removing it will make balancing alot easier

catapult mode make they stay still is actually a kind of a good thing sometime,preventing them from grouping up and take damage that they should not have taken.

This will make the decision whether or not catapult alot harder

I imagine the best way to balance it is to make setting up catapult/leaving catapult animation take longer so e giant can be vulnerable for longer

Is giant really vulnerable while in catapult mode ?

They get extra damage and range,also splash.But unable to move.

The thing is,moving is not really their favorite thing to do.As they move quite slow.

They're big and tanky,I don't see why they're that vulnerable.

Also you might want to be in catapult mode before a fight anyway.

If you removed the splash,or range.Anything other than damage.Its still good and spamable.

Sometimes I get statue and tower mixed up lol

When they take longer to get into catapult mode it allows the other units to damage e giant a little more before his foot in ground and attacking

So maybe a few second longer animation?

You don't know how big is the damage buff,let alone other stats.

I'm aware of it but I'm just trying to give an idea of how to make him a bit vulnerable

Longer animation means longer time to attack while he's not

Or better yet maybe make him pulling back to shoot slower
