#How can i overclock an intel i5-5300U
60 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
netbook?
my pc is a dell latitude e7450
hey atleast it handles ultrakill in low settings
I dont recommend overclocking ANY laptop cpu tho
like milking %1 extra but taking responsibility so muhc riskss
Thats not good advice though considering theres laptops designed for it.
I still wont prefer
Its a buisness netbook made for efficiency.
Ok.
its an office laptop that was made to stay 24/7 plugged in
a lil overclocking couldn't hurt it
if it does have a dedicated graphics card like nvidia, you can use nvidia inspector to oc
but occing U series CPU from intel wont create much difference at performance, maybe even not a change
it does not
its current speed is 2.69ghz which isn't that bad for an 11 y/o cpu
that's its absolute max speed i could get out of it without overclocking
it basically not related with ghz, its related with more like architecture
doesn't hurt to try
yeah i know, mine is broadwell
Its a dual core low wattage cpu. Could theoretically do 3.7ghz fine since its broadwell but its a u cpu, locked, and a dell bios. Board isnt gonna allow it.
Broadwell can handle 5ghz.
Idk what youre referring to
no way to bypass it
im talking about ghz isnt the main thing that says cpu is good or bad
its the architecture
you are on more like other way
didn't u say i could use "bclk overclocking"
bios prolly wont allow that
Bclk overclocking is taking the 100mhz base clock speed and increasing it. But you wont be able to do that
then why'd u tell me i could in the first place
can't you change ur bios or sum
Not worried about architecture ipc performance here. Talking solely about increasing performance of what he has allready.
I mentioned it because that would be the only way to overclock a locked cpu. But your board doesnt support it and the dell bios is all locked down
yea you are talking about "increasing performance" of what he has while hes actually cant
insane
i might be able to buy a pc some time soon, maybe summer, maybe next year or maybe in 3 years
most likely is like next year
and it wouldn't be too good
jst some genric dell optiplex
it would be better than my current pc though
good luck
? I mentioned bclk overclocking before he said what his pc even was. You can overclock such cpus if the board supports it.
ok.
is there any way to make the system use only opengl
or h264
silence, i love it
@shrewd epoch here?
Opengl is a rendering api like direct x
So no
h264?
Thats just a video codec
Many programs use different ones
You can try tho
i do use enhanced.h264 extension so i was wondering if theres an app that does the same thing across all video in windows
i might have to use linux bro
The official mobile version of the CPU cannot be overclocked, but the ES version can.Because I've tried it🙂
What the hell does that have to do with me
