#Display looking trash after downloading the latest driver

So I've been using the driver 32.0.101.7084 even after 32.0.101.7085 was released. But tonight I thought I'd do the update, so I did DDU in safe mode then installed the newest driver. But even after installing and restarting the image looks a bit blurry, I'm not sure if it's just me or it's the same as before but one thing I can tell certainly is that the image looks washed out. It looks grey ish. I check the Graphics command center, everything is at default and yet it looks like that.

So I thought I'd download the driver again but nothing changed, tried going back to the previous driver but after finishing that it looked the same and instead of going back to 32.0.101.7084, it went way back to driver from 2024 that ends in 32.0.101.5xxx.

I'm confused, don't know what to do. It's the family computer so if the image keeps looking like that, I'll be in big trouble.

Please of someone knows what's going on, help me out. Would appreciate it more than anything.

One last thing, I've checked my bios and it looks completely normal like before so I'm certain that this is a software issue.

Oh yes I faced this exact same issue

#

I did the same as you

#

still the graphics is unstable

#

aside from those, the statistics of intel arc software are unstable and inaccurate for me, I am also facing fps drops and lags while playing games (I barely used to face fps drops and lags before this update)

# drifting ibex aside from those, the statistics of intel arc software are unstable and inaccura...

Fps drop aswell? Should've just ignored this update honestly. Still trying to figure out how to fix this. And you're right, I've noticed it too, the graphics software is giving out wrong metrics. It happened to me sometimes before, I would just do a restart and it'll fix itself.

And also another thing was, if I clicked on the display option of the graphics software, it'll turn the display a bit blue ish. Got no idea why it would do that but restarting the computer also fixes that.

#

I did something different than you

#

Forgot to mention

#

I uninstalled graphics driver using DDU because new version was unstable

#

I installed the previous version instead

#

But

#

The graphics issue remained

#

I don't know why

#

I think you should try to download previous version instead

#

And see if it works for u

plush yoke

Dude I did exactly this, did another DDU to go back to previous version but then it installed a driver from 2024 which ends in 5xxx something, I don't remember properly. But the display should be back to normal right? But nope, it's still here even with the old driver. Then I check my bios cause if the bios looks the same then it's a hardware issue but the bios was normal.

drifting ibex
#

I meant the exact previous version

#

Not the 2024

plush yoke
#

I'll probably won't update the drivers again after I fix this one. Cause they already consider the iris Xe as legacy hardware

plush yoke
drifting ibex
#

Hmm

#

I'm trying it again

drifting ibex
plush yoke
#

WHAT DID YOU DO

drifting ibex
#

This version

#

DDU then this version

plush yoke
#

Is this the newest or the previous one?

#

And yours is the new arc graphics, mine is the older Iris Xe

drifting ibex
#

Previous

plush yoke
#

Let's see what I can do. I'll probably just install the new one and then roll back the driver

drifting ibex
#

Hope it works for u

#

Gl

#

Isn't it

#

Supposed to run

plush yoke
#

I think it stops when it's not needed

drifting ibex
#

Ic

#

Smh it's not letting me change values here

#

Anymore

plush yoke
#

I don't know what to do myself

#

Should I do another DDU and go back to the previous one? Cause rolling back gives me the basic display driver

drifting ibex
#

Yes

#

Previous one

#

It was stable right

#

DDU and go to previous one u used to use

plush yoke
#

I'm pissed off cause I've been doing this since last night

plush yoke
#

I'm probably staying on the previous driver at least for now

drifting ibex
plush yoke
#

Even without the display looking a bit off issue, the graphics software wasn't working properly on the new driver anyways

drifting ibex
#

Yeah

drifting ibex
#

Do you know what is this

# drifting ibex Do you know what is this

Yeah, that doesn't look right, especially that the 288V is a mobile CPU with Integrated Gfx (i imagine GPU-Z would show ReBar is enabled, so bug in IGS).

What is the laptop brand and model you have today? Most likely the manufacturer has a version of Intel Gfx driver on there website.

drifting ibex
#

Intel Core Ultra 9 288V cpu

#

Intel Arc 140v gpu

#

ReBAR isn't in BIOS

#

There no option to enable ReBAR

quick oasis
#

Yeah, it wont be visible, but you can check GPU-Z as another way. But i dont recall ReBar for mobile products, however i dont have any laptops with Lunar Lake CPU's.

drifting ibex
#

Hmm okay 👍

#

How to check that

#

ReBAR

#

In CPU Z

I would recommend downloading the Intel gfx driver from HP Support website, here is a link to your Laptop (Best to my knowledge): https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/hp-omnibook-x-flip-16-inch-2-in-1-laptop-next-gen-ai-pc-16-as0000/2102686835

Just select Windows 11 and which Win11 version you are using today, it will be under "Driver-Graphics".

The reason why you want to download Intel Graphics drivers from HP.com instead of Intel.com is because of Driver customizations. Sometimes there are specific panel configurations that need to be modified in the Driver INF or regkeys, so OEMS (ex: HP) will modify the INF to include theses customizations.

I downloaded cpu z alr

quick oasis
#

This is on Desktop system.

quick oasis
#

And WIndows Update keeps downgrading the gfx driver?

drifting ibex
quick oasis
#

Because you downloaded CPU-Z, not GPU-Z

drifting ibex
#

Oh

drifting ibex
quick oasis
#

Click on "General" and select "ReBar"

drifting ibex
#

Wait

quick oasis
#

Figures, its Integrated graphics, so its not supported. Not a big issue.

Okay so the notification was an error
