MB: MSI B550 Tomahawk
CPU: Ryzen 7 3700X

I "upgraded" from a 2060 super to the B580 and i'm seeing the same** if not WORSE** performance in all of the games i was playing. after some research online this seems to be an issue with the B580 interacting with older cpus? Resizeable BAR is enabled and i changed the PCIE subsystem from auto to Gen4.
This is super disappointing and i'm hoping this can be fixed, otherwise i'll be getting a refund or perhaps i'll consider buying a newer CPU... Please help!

You're experiencing driver overhead which Intel is already aware of and investigating (Judging by comments in the Github Issue Tracker). There isn't anything you can technically do unless you upgrade to a newer processor or return the card itself.

From personal experience. Driver overhead seems to take effect in CPU-bound games especially on DX11.

Your research is correct. Battlemage does not play well with older cpus. Intel recommends using at least Ryzen 3000, but there have been cases where even the 5600 sees significant performance drops. Your options as you pointed out are either to get a cpu that’s more powerful than a 5600 or to get a refund and purchase a different gpu. I’m not sure when or if this issue will fixed, but if you don’t want to wait and find out if the b580 will eventually run better on your 3700x, then I would recommend finding another gpu.
