All I'm thinking of starting up a regular live steam for GenAI. Weekly. For this to work, it would involve all of you. Thoughts are as follows

  • I host with a cast of regulars who are interested in being on the stage with their mic or camera
  • Flow would be I introduce a segment, where I have something to share / show on it, then I turn it over to you all to do the same
  • Segments would be: "AI News", "Feature or Technique", "Show-N-Tell"
  • For those who want to participate regularly, we'd discuss separate, who wants to show or discuss what on these topics ahead of the show

Two questions.
👍 If you like the idea
🖐️ if youd like to participate, be a regular or semi regular participant

Obviously this is a global community, and I'd like to do this where I can maximize attendance and participation from those interested in GenAI.
Please respond with thoughts on time from a US Pacific time zone
-Morning Pacific Time
-Early Afternoon Pacific Time
-Early Evening Pacific Time

Depends if talking live or recorded?

My thoughts would be early evening if live to maximize availability of participants and minimize conflict with the morning/afternoon show.

Do you really aim for a weekly cadence? And what's the target audience?

I would love to contribute, but my expertise is in language model side than image decoders. And the stuff I do myself might be way too deep in the academic literature to efficiently talk about and discuss.

As for Timezone. If this is for at most an hour. It would be great for this to be not way past midnight in Europe. So more like early afternoon for you

I'm in a similar boat. Might be interested but lean technical.

The target audience is our Insiders Community - who have interest in genai. Mostly the folks on the SDNext thread, but on a call together within the structure of a show, in time I believe this will grow to a broader audience as AI becomes more mainstream
This would likely be an hour

Here is how I suspect a typical show will go

  1. AI in the news: I'll mention some stories in the news like issues people are voicing about Dall-E 3 in Bing restrictive prompts, or news from Intel. I'll ask for feedback . Anyone else who wants to participate will share news they have heard
  2. Tips, Techniques, Questions: I or someone will be on deck to share a technique, tip or feature they've learned the last week. Again this will open up to others who will share their ideas, with an ask the expert discussion
  3. Show-N-Tell: I, or again someone else will share a series of images or output we are working on, what is inspiring the work, what we learned, what we like about them, challenges we are having

This can get as technical as those participating want it to. Similar to the SDNext thread

would you bring on guests too? Like maybe specific services or the engineers behind the frameworks etc

Yes, when available. Ideally a semi regular member of the OpenVINO and or IPEX teams

I would watch this weekly and it's a great idea but until I can get better hardware myself, I am far from an expert. I do track this stuff and send it to others who are in a better position to play around with it all though

Stay tuned!

One of my partners is involved in this. GenAI on CPUs with Zero systems
