#VRAM clock stuck at 2186MHz

Heya!

I have a weird problem where the memory clock is stuck to 2186MHz, idle at desktop or playing a game which I find very odd. What I have my knowledge on, it should not be like this and preferably just clock down to idle speeds. Is it hardware level issue or software?
CPU - Ryzen 5600G
motherboard, MSI B550I WIFI
GPU, Acer Predator Bifrost A770 16GB
OS installed, Windows 10 2H22 19045.2486
available RAM, 5GB/16GB currently in use in idle with firefox open and discord
steps already taken, - here's the thing, I've called ACER today and they will come back to me, in meanwhile is there any option that I could give it a go?
error codes seen, etc - none that I can find visiably, unless Intel has a debugging so you can see stats?

I'm sorry in advance for the Swedish, but I'll help translate if you have any questions on the screenshot

Adding some more info about the GPU and the drivers etc: Display device : Intel(R) Arc(TM) A770 Graphics
Display driver : 4091
GUID : VEN_8086&DEV_56A0&SUBSYS_38881025&REV_08&BUS_18&DEV_0&FN_0
Multi-GPU role : master
Registry key : \Registry\Machine\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Video{08082837-A22E-11ED-8A83-806E6F6E6963}\0000
VDDC controller : Display driver

I've also updated to the latest BIOS and purged the drivers and installed fresh ones.

thats normal for those cards, kind of a mix between hardware and software issue

How is it normal that the VRAM clock is on almost full tilt, regardless of load put to the card? doesn't seem very logical to me murtin. 😎

it’s not logical but it’s what arc cards do

I see. Can I highlight this somewhat or some admin/mod can move/mention this to the devs at intel for them to look at? Or maybe the've seen it, I don't know. I'm just worried it'll reduce the lifetime of the memory chips running that high with no apparent reason

they know about it

#

they cant fix it

Hmm. Did you run DDU in safe mode before installing the latest driver?

#

We had this issue on IBC cards that was fixed a few months ago.

#

Let me look into this if DDU + reinstall didn't work for you

#

actually its operating as it should

#

We do not support dynamic memory clock management at this time

this is just an assumption but i think not as probably the vram controller does not support it on itself, which is also why they had to flash the vram change through a firmware update rather than just enabling vram oc

I see. So In order to get improvements or changes, if thats the case, I have to contact Acer directly to maybe get a hold of one if they even provide one for end user?

Acer can’t do anything about it. Firmware updates are handled by us.
