Love it. Super cute.
Bearing in mind too that this is just a placeholder spritesheet, as I've not yet settled on a final character design for the main protag! π
Should I do the sprites in 16x16 or 24x24?

Seeing as how the last poll was tied, I'll only include two answers in this one. How should I do the sprites for my game?

Bruhhhhhh xD
My take is. If it's an action platformer, or you just move fast, use 16x16. If it's gonna be slower paced then use 24x24
Fair enough
What kinda game is it gonna be?
Platformer π
More like a love letter to the Mario series π
Then I'd do 24
Yeah
After a lot of humming and haa-ing I've decided I'm going to do the game in a 16x16 sprite size to start off with and see how I go, please stay tuned for more updates! π
The coin sprite for the game!
The main method of transportation for my game, the Transport Treestump (working object title)! These things can be found everywhere, much like Mario's pipes! Some lead to underground rooms full of coins, whilst others may have enemies residing inside (also like Mario's pipes), so beware!
Whoa cool
The main enemy for the game, a humble ant! No prizes for guessing which Mario enemy this little guy replaces lmao
Ant replaces Goomba in mine
Should I change mine then mate? Because that's who replaces the Goomba in my game hahaha
The substitute for the ant, the beetle!
One of the main power-ups for my game, the baguette! When eaten, it gives the chosen character the ability to peg (slang term in Australia for yeet) bread rolls at enemies, defeating certain ones instantly.
Part 1 of the (placeholder) boxart is complete!
This was done entirely in PDN (paint.net), so please excuse the potentially shoddy job hahaha!
Nah you donβt have to
Haha in America peg means something very different
Oh believe me, I know lmao. Hence why I clarifiedπ€£π€£π€£
No prizes for guessing what the spring does lmao
The bread roll projectile from the baguette power-up!
SMALL DEV UPDATE
Due to me and my slow ahh learning GBS supports automatic colour palettes, development is temporarily shifting to the GBC version, announced just now in this update! Please look forward to seeing the DMG version's "DX" versions!
