It'll be like new gen pokemon where creatures have random spawns based on area in the overworld, as opposed to finding them in the grass
Looking good! What is the rhythm/music component for this game? How will it work?
When in battle, every time you select a move, whether it be a damaging, healing or debuff/buffing move, you play a different 5-15 second rhythm minigame, and its effectiveness is directly attactched to how many notes you hit
This would be the first time I've even seen these two genres mixed in this way in any media

Weekly update. I overhauled the overworld tiles, make 3 new building types, finished the first town, and added animated water!
is this gonna be dmg compatible or colour only?
Color only, sadly. I couldn't bare to finish this project with dmg restrictions
I can't find a way for dmg to display my sprites with the tile restrictions
i'd love to playtest this project once it's reached that point

trust me as someone who specialises in demake projects (current one is the undertale DX one) getting stuff to be polished is something i have grown to be really good at!

Uhhhh... incredible question.. I've been sidelining it for the most part. The main 4 options are layed out already, though. It'd be cool to see what you can come up with, with almost full creative control
