This is where I'll post music making related things. The first thing I have is actually a work in progress. I'm focusing on the full arrangement first before I get into mixing and mastering. The brass parts are what I'm struggling on the most, and I feel like there might be something missing but I have no idea. I don't want to use too many unnecessary layers, a problem I had a lot with songs from last year. What do you think, what should be added/removed/changed? Have any ideas where it should go next?

I would use orchestral sounds (thick bass drums, cymbals, chime, choir, etc.) if you want the brass type to stand out, but it depends on the mood of the song you are aiming for. So, I would suggest that you listen carefully to and compare songs that are similar to the atmosphere of the song you are aiming for, and then make a partial copy of the missing parts.
Also, I'd like to see a few more rests in the song. If there is sound all the time, or if there is too little change in sound, I think the song will become boring due to lack of crispness, or simply too loud as background music.
Suddenly, do you listen to your music often?
Here's what I practice. I try not to listen to my own music too much. This is because I am so influenced by myself that I can only come up with the same kind of music. So, if you make a lot of music based on other people's music, you will learn it naturally.
no actually
I just end up making the same structure it seems I do end up making the same song structure sometimes, or melodies that sound too similar
I'm still trying to find what I'll call my core styles
I think that's good. Now you just have to make a music by referring to others.
Or perhaps I should say, “You should like and listen to more different music." I think that is the only reason why you can only come up with the same melody.
In my case, when I start to have that problem, I solve it by creating “another original music that is very similar to this one, but different”.
Part of the problem is probably me not listening to other music as much as I did from last year up to this past early Summer
since then I switched to a new computer which I was not expecting I'd do at the time and have felt like I'm starting to struggle with my instrumentation choices since then, with drum samples, pianos and guitars being the ones I struggle the most since I don't feel I have any good sources for them.
Concerning drum samples however, I'm starting to realize how many samples i have in my collection which are usable after putting effects on them.
I felt like starting a Signature Collection of already made samples and presets for the times I can't seem to find any good ones otherwise, but I have no idea where to start with that either. I should probably just do it but I also don't want to accidentally create a complete library of samples that end up not being usable at all.
Yeah, but all I have to say to you is “make a music anyway, based on what I just said."
Or, “If there's no sound, buy it.” that's all my advice.
Actually, I have heard all your music before. And this is the one I like best. FYI.

that was literally my worst one 'cause I couldn't rap well
But voice samples are very powerful in songwriting, and just using them can create a sense of fullness.
I guess
also, by all my music I don't assume you mean these as well right

yes
As I said before, listening to other people's music is only a plus, so I listen to a lot of different songs. Even your music.
Work in progress time! This one is barely started.
This one needs a new kick and isn't all there yet. Never mind, I thought it sucked yesterday.
This one is going along pretty great however, just need to find a good instrument for Section 3.
Released on November 10.

Happy new year! My new Christmas has arrived on streaming platforms! (Except for Apple Music/iTunes, most likely they have to verify it manually since a bunch of people were uploading AI/LLM generated songs.)

Also dropping the album here for maximum quality.
Entry for the make it happen 4HB on Battle of the Bits, got 7/8 place but at least I got it done.
I'm back!
So, back in late 2023(?)/2024, I made this song: #1175242091715113121 message
However, as I kept improving my music, I wanted to redo it to be up to my current standards.
So, I present to you the new Cyclonic Pulse!
Oh right, it was made in FL Studio 2024.
For this song, I tried doing something new for the drop. It kind of feels like something is missing but I don't know what so I'm just going to leave it as is and move on.
The drop was slightly inspired by Avenza's Wicked.
Back again with two new songs.
Two new work in progresses!
A cover I made to test a Vital preset I made last year. More info in the file tags.
