when drawing from imagination how do you make sure the anatomy doesn't look off

when the anatomy is off, i find it like oh something's off seeing the drawn stuff

and like, cuz overall this character is directing this way, the feet shouldn't direct that way.. etc

or like the legs kinda too long as comparison to the torso

since i only find something being off when i can see the entire body from head to toes, i always need to draw the whole even if i only plan to draw a bust shot
