Now... imagine if you go back in time and instead just goof around, but not enough to upset your timeline.

If things go bad, you just "reset" by killing your grandfather and thus wiping everything you did.

"Killing your grandfather" for the drifter is just "never leaving the duviri dreamworld"

So wherever they drifter goes, they just loop it all into their paradoxical existence and can "reset" it all by simply changing one decision they make in the future/past
