saying the words "1999" and "next generation of warframe" is pretty ambigueous, but for a lot of people the implication is kinda just that this would be bigger than an albrecht's lab or a zariman

in the end we got something that's perhaps a bit bigger in scope due to leeches

but follows the general pattern of launch ----------> major content update --------> "we're moving on"

I think Flare had made not want to interact with the Overall Warframe community again.
This whole NB thing makes it literally impossible to talk about the nuances about the character without someone gouging your eyes for saying something they perceive is wrong

Heaven forbid we talk about how the NB person/protoframe got DNA from a Female Warframe, who had previously been known as Temple. Literally the whole point of the character is to show us that the Helminth doesn't need 1:1 copies of the Warframe, just someone the most compatible. So, I tried making the characters to the best of my abilities-- for some, I also attempted at guessing what they would choose for their "Characters" in Fables & Frontiers.

• ⁠Arthur Nightingale - Excalibur's shtick is very simple: swords. Personality-wise, you could probably find a picture of Arthur in the dictionary next to the word "Paladin" or "Leader". There's a chat message with Quincy where he guesses that Arthur would be a Paladin too. For his appearance, the images don't quite capture it, but he's got some grey streaks in his hair which I tried to emulate, and unfortunately I couldn't find a mod that allowed me to give him a truly, whited-out, "blind" left eye. I believe Volo forces you to have the right eye but I'll see in the campaign, and while Auntie Ethel lets you choose, it's not the right appearance.
• ⁠Aoi Morohoshi - I used the Halfling hireling, Brinna Brightsong, as the base, hence why Aoi's so short. My headcanon is that she would just pick that for her character. Like Brinna, she's also a bard. Aoi's got a bubbly personality that uplifts the other Hex members, so a bard with support characteristics fits her personality. She's also a big fan of this fictional boyband they made for the update, OnLyne, and she even sells the 1999 soundtrack to players. I gave her mostly Thunder-based abilities and pretend they're magnetic waves, as well as some like Heat Metal.

• ⁠Amir Beckett - So I'm not too proud of the appearance I ended up creating for Amir. It was difficult finding a head with his facial features, I'm worried I didn't get his skintone right either, and obviously part of Amir's "look" are his glasses-- there wasn't anything like that in BG3, as of yet, not even the mods on PS5 had any eyewear, and obviously there wasn't anything like the headset. To compensate, I gave him that diadem thingy. Now, Amir is a massive nerd and wears it with pride, and it's him who suggests playing 'Fables & Frontiers', and he's the DM. In BG3, I made him a Wizard, as they're the biggest of proud nerds, and this allowed me to give him as many lightning spells as possible, since his base Warframe, Volt, is obviously the electric guy. Volt also has speed and shields, so I gave Amir a few of those spells.
• ⁠Eleanor Nightingale - She's voiced by Amelia Tyler (BG3's Narrator), which is funny because Eleanor also speaks to you as a voice in your head. The ProtoFrames get their powers from an infestation, and the infestation's presence in Eleanor is more pronounced. She's got a large tongue that's almost got a mind of it's own (but for you freaks out there, she's got enough control over it to do "what you would do-- feels gooood hehe"). Her base Warframe, Nyx, has psychic and chaotic abilities, primarily being able to mind control enemies and make them turn against each other. So, I made her a Pact of the Chain, Great Old One Warlock, and gave her as many psychic abilities as I could find. I now realize that I probably should've made her the same race as Arthur, as the two are twins in Warframe. As you can see, like her brother, Eleanor also has those streaks of grey in her hair, but when I tried recreating that with the highlights feature, it didn't have the same effect and just made her look greying.

• ⁠Leticia "Lettie" Garcia - Lettie was a medic, and is based on the Trinity Warframe. Trinity is a healer, and chats with Lettie reveal that she is quite spiritual/religious, so it made perfect sense for me to make Lettie a Life domain Cleric (of Kelemvor, because she has a fascination with Death). Of course, Lettie also has a lot of pet rats, which made me give her a couple levels in Druid too. All in all, I'm pretty proud of the way I adapted the appearance and abilities here. I even gave her blue gloves to represent the surgical gloves that she wears.
• ⁠Quincy Isaacs - Good old Quincy K is an extremely swagger bloke with a heart of gold. He joins Amir's F&F game and is clearly a secret nerd who knows plenty about the game beforehand, so I took some liberties with his appearance character because I feel like he'd give himself the Strong bodytype. He was the last one I created and I realized how that one centipede tattoo could look similar to his scarring as a result of his transformation (both the BG3 tattoo and the Warframe scars are hard to see in these images, sorry). I'm least proud of his hair. Quincy has these dreads/braids that go in front of his face, but there were no mods that looked similar to that, and I didn't want to simply give him the long dreadlocks that were in-game. He also wears a beret, but again, none of the hats in BG3 looked similar to it without covering his entire hairdo. His base Warframe, Cyte-09, is a sniper, so of course I had to get the sniper mod that was available on PS5, and I made him a Ranger.

yk... as much as i love this one kaya conversation bc its So Important to her as a character to understand that ppl do Not hate or judge her for anything....... the techrot trailer makes me wish we had lines/thoughts abt kaya from the rest of the new protos, especially the resident parents. who she sat up shop right next to.
