Either something happens to him, or she is saying for him not to engage in combat.

I’m going to disagree here. Stalker’s autonomy remains a big question mark that is easily answered by him being a 1st-Gen. Jade does receive an operator, but I think this is the result of a 2nd-Gen retrofit since the operator happens in Memory 5 and we know she was already being used for executions back in Memory 2. If she was a 2nd-Gen she wouldn’t be able to do that.

I think they’re both 1st-Gens who survived the post-Insurrection purge in different ways. Stalker was a loyal lapdog and so was spared on those grounds, and Jade was already in stasis so they just retrofitted her with a Transference Bolt and operator (something we know is possible due to our copies of Dante and Kullervo).

It’s either that or special bolts, which I doubt given that the Stalker didn’t seem to know about operators and Ballas wouldn’t take their “crime” anywhere near as personally as Umbra.

Agreed. I think they are both Gen 1 - Jade is just a special case. Perhaps Ballas first tried to retrofit existing frames but it proved to be too unstable and then moved on to Gen 2. Either way I still believe Stalker at the very least is a remnant of Gen 1 - for why he such a high degree of autonomy.

Based on the Rhino Prime codex entry and the description from Kullervo's lore I think Ballas elected to destroy many Gen-1 Warframes because they were just too dangerous or too far-gone to retrofit. The reason I think Jade could be retrofitted is because she was 1) still stable and 2) already subdued. Slapping a Gen-2 retrofit on her would be trivial as compared to the entity from Rhino Prime's codex entry.
