It could be possible that hollowed-out/executed/dead frames got lost in the Void and wound up in that version of 1999, got reverse-engineered, then turned into suits for people that were willing or could stand using them.

What I'm proposing is a Forma that could transform the Warframe into that variation for use on Drifter - though it depends on how DE wants to express what's actually in the frame besides what we've been told (Infested people - which is true in the case of Umbra).

the 1999 update is extremly intirguing so i wanted to throw a few ideas out there. we've known for a while from saryn prime and titania lore that the infestation once overan earth, but from albrecht's mention of "radiation wars" i always assumed that this would have happened after some kind of ww3 event renders earth uninhabitable and humanity fleeing into space to eventually become the orokin. but it seems like the primary technocyte event occurs early than i thought

for myself im not convinced we know enough about the orokin/archimedian divide to make definitive statements. the entrati were orokin scientists but it could be the majority of the orokin were decadent elites who relied entirely on Archimedeans for advancements or the opposite and the orokin did all the super secret stuff themselves
