The statement "Rell died" can be tricky and misleading; he didn't die because of "common means", but because he fused his existance/consciousness to his warframe to keep Wally away. It clearly was something more complex than physically dying in the traditional way (your body ceasing to exist because it simply cannot keep going, either by physical damage or simply physical degradation).

As far as I'm aware, the Tenno are virtually immortal.
