What if umbras are 'perfect' instances of a prime warframe? As in, when the host person gets jabbed if they're a perfect enough candidate in skillset, experience, personality etc
if the STARS ALIGN like that the strain used settles into it host 1:1 resulting in a direct side or upgrade to the usual prime counterpart

This may also explain why there's only one umbraframe (that we know of); 'perfection' seldom exists in humanity to create one.
For example, when the father of Isaah got jabbed with an Excalibur strain, the old wisened dax was such a cooperative fit to the particular infestation that it created, from the shadow of the long night, a new Excalibur.

As you can guess, they weren’t very nice people. Actually, they were quite f*cked in the head. Really unpleasant people tbh. Eventually, the solar system (called the Origin System) became so messed up they realised they needed to move out and get a new place.

They created AI we call The Sentients, which was usually very illegal, who had the ability to adapt so they could handle the dangers, but a weakness to Void so they couldn’t use the Rail and rebel. They sent them to travel space and build a Rail Network (the main FTL method) between Origin and the Tau System, and begin terraforming.

Then they decided it was taking too long and started a new project to try and get there sooner. It went through 10 iterations, ending up with the “Zariman 10-0” colony ship, which could use a Reliquary Drive to jump using the Void.

This failed and they ended up having to wait anyway, so they still had to rely on the Sentients. But the Sentients grew and learned while they were gone, and realised they liked Tau and the Orokin would mess it up too, and they didn’t like them. So they rebelled anyway, eventually sending some big Sentients that could fly in space through the Rail, protecting little ones inside they so they would only become infertile. They then destroyed the Rail on Origin’s side so the Orokin couldn’t send anymore back

The Sentients were very dangerous, because any remotely advanced and smart tech could be taken over, and they were already busted because of their adaptability and ability to create “Fragments” of themselves even without their reproductive ability.

The Orokin found out you could make tech not too smart and give it Void shielding to protect it from the Sentients, and this was the Necramechs. But these were too dumb according to them, and they got scrapped.

Instead, they decided on the Warframe project. Vessels made of a custom strain of Technocyte (the infestation), the Helminth, enhanced and given Void powers, controlled by a warrior caste called the Tenno, us.

Eventually we won the Orokin-Sentient war, the “Old War” and got our very own celebration, the Night of the Naga Drums. But we knew the Orokin weren’t very nice, so we rebelled too, killing loads of them and crippling the Empire.

Two factions rose up after this. The Grineer, the Orokin’s clone-slave labourers who had been repurposed as soldiers, and the Corpus, a merchant society/cult revering the Void and Profit

There’s also the Infestation/Technocyte. We don’t really know where these guys came from, but they’ve been around since the 1990s and it’s been at least like 11,000 years since then. They popped up here and there, caused like at least 2 of 18 “Radiation Wars” and at some point “ravaged” the Orokin’s outer colonies, so places like Eris and Pluto ig
