Once you get access to Orokin Reactors or Forma, you'll be able to just slap it in the open slot

I would not recommend removing Vitality until you get more familiar with the game
There's a form of survival later in the game that effectively ignores all survivability mods, but such a tactic is not necessary for early game, and more than likely isn't even available at that time

Forma are used to change the polarities of mod slots, which can make mods cost half the amount of capacity they normally do if the mod and the slot match
Even though Volt has a Prime variant, it's typically annoying to farm because it's a special kind of unavailable typically, so if you have fun with Volt, I'd recommend giving him a few of those funny puzzle pieces

As previously mentioned, Augur Secrets from bounties out in the Plains of Eidolon is a relatively easy grind. It's not always available, however, so if you don't see it in bounty rewards, you can check back later for it.

Since you have Deimos available, you can crack open Orokin Vaults hidden within that tileset using Dragon Keys from your clan's Orokin Lab. Each vault can give powerful mods with a drawback on each one; these Corrupted Mods are the bread and butter of all late-game builds.
