Like ice good against firey enemies and such, very cool.
Or corrosive vs armor, or toxin to bypass magnetic shielding.

i partially intentionally go out of my way not to use banes for the sake of it makes the builds i have easier to throw at people because it doesnt require 8-9 mods + an addional like 4 or 5 other mods depending on the faction your going against and if they do or dont have a bane mod

i dont use banes either because 95% of what i do is either a fissure with mixed factions, or is a faction with no bane

but, if im doing something like EDA, or if im doing circuit, both of which have high level enemies with 100% of the same faction, i will slot a primed bane if i have one

prime mods are generically better compared to their non prime counterparts but especially on arch guns primed vnomus clip vs primed venomus clip is kinda niche and imop i prefer to use the 60/60 mods for statuses primarily cuz i use the arbucept or maussalon and dont need even more viral weighting more often than not

its not that people dont like it, people love roar. its primarily that its limited to only like 5 factions and maxing out those prime mods is quite expensive. as ive said. if there was a universal bane mod id use it on everything, its just im personally against the "bane mod for only 4 or 5 factions"

i think your both right and wrong here. to my understanding people like the "different factions are weak to this damage type and resistant to this damage type" but are against the "heres bonus damage for only this select few factions" especially when there are missions that can have more than 2 factions at the same time
