when you do an invasion mission, you can pick which side to support (can't support infested though), depending on what reward you want, you need to finish invasion mission 3 times, you get reward when invasion ends (regardless of result)

You're always gonna want a weapon on every slot tbh

Fusing Mods is how you get stronger in the game. Levelling up your gear just lets you slot in more variety and higher capacity mods

You don't have to max out a mod. The best thing to do right now is incrementally increase their levels so you don't run out of Mod Capacity right away

Don't worry about what mods you have right now, too. You'll pick more variety up as you play

yeah I'd absolutely get at least some; Maim is from either baro or capturing hydrolysts, Scorch either now or farming spy vaults, Shell Shock absolutely get now so you don't have to do Hive Sabotage caches, Primed Point Blank and Charged Shell are both great, Fulmination too if you use AOE secondary since base counterpart is insanely expensive to get if you didn't get it during Operation Plague Star
rest are kinda just QoL (kinda?) like Quickdraw and Morphic Transformer+Ammo Chain if you care about Archwing/-guns
