the little bit of time I had to mess with the bayonet weapon was great in the old peace, I really want DE to consider converting the gunblades we already have redeemer, vestlok, serpa, into bayonet weapons to sort of match that kind of gameplay loop, some of these could be sonsidered secondary bayonet weapons

I also wonder if whether equipping the bayonet weapon type affects Mesa's passive ability of having more health when you don't have a melee equiped

Not sure if anyone has noticed but in the 'Devil's Tower' mode, you can pull out your archgun fine for the first few levels but if you try to pull it out a 2nd time, it auto-swaps to your primary and your archgun 5-min cooldown starts instantly. And most groups only complete about 5 missions when they don't bug.
Best i've been in was 9 + 1 bug and we had enough time to get that 10th.

So you're only missing out on, at most on average, 5 per run.
