Research blueprints and build rooms, then you just have clan members get free endo at the ascention alter.

Each teir (ghost shadow etc) requires more people, but once that number hits it starts a timer which ranks up the clan and ends the free endo.

SPECIAL NOTE there is a cooldown for new member joining the clan to be able to interact with the alter, iirc 14 days

You do need the freighter. You need it for frigate expeditions. And without a landing pad, my Corvette clips into bases, making it impossible to move around, sometimes trapping me until I can get the clipping system to spit me out above the base.
