i went into TNW with base railjack, no upgrades, no AI crew, like 5min after i crafted it
only bad time i had was not knowing that the main cannons were called the tunguska cannons, so spent 15min just ramming my head into the wall cos i had a brain skill issue

once i figured out to use the cannons, smooth sailing (though i did feel pretty annoyed at myself)

if you're in a clan with drydock stuff researched, then getting MK3 gear (or the highest available) makes everything a breeze.
only upgrades would be from later planets, and thats still only small upgrades/leaning towards a particular playstyle/stat weighting, rather than flat out better

then there should be MK1/MK2/MK3 stuff researched (can use the top icons to filter between tiers)
if your clan has the MK3 stuff, just get those

but if your clan is dead, then it might be a no go, any random public clan you join would have those tho
up to you if you want to leave your clan for the upgrades

i'd only use the normal latron long enough to master it and then craft it into the tiberon for continued mastery ranking.

but early on, if you can only fit a few mods onto a weapon, just make sure you have base damage and elemental damage. max those mods out and that will make you have some damage on your gun even if you have no polarities and no catalyst installed.

multishot is incredibly important for damage, but i'd put it on after base damage and one elemental mod, if you've not invested a lot into a weapon.

after that i'd probably add fire rate. and then latron's critical stats aren't great but you could run those too.

Idk but my line of thinking is since ability modifiers like strength duration and range are additive to the base ability I usually stop focusing on a stat when adding more strength or something barely makes a difference except for wisp because higher numbers on the more is funny
