It is pretty normal to use starter warframe for as long as you actually want to. Me, personally, used my Volt to unlock whole system before SP. You'll get the feeling when you'll need other warframes for more... Specific stuff. For example - Nekros for farming, or Gauss for "he-he running"

I found a Vigilante Offense (+1.5 punch through when maxed), I guess throwing that on my opticor vandal (1m innate) would allow the beam itself to hit every enemy in a 2.5m depth? I'm just not sure how much/many enemies that is, or if that is actually useful.

Put an Distilling Extractor on the Zarimam every time you place and retrieve extractors. You'll get 4 every now and again, not always but it's better than nothing.
You can get packs of three lanthorns by killing Gruzzlings in the Sanctum Anatomica. They are guaranteed to show up in Netracells and Deep Archimedea missions but that's the hardest content in the game so make sure you're prepared. Worth noting Gruzzlings won't always drop Lanthorns and can instead drop arcanes, voca, and other loot. Also, they don't drop loot in the Disruption node, only Conduit dockets.
Otherwise, play Zariman missions and you'll get Lanthorns every now and then from enemies.

Try Khora with Pilfering Strangledome, or Hydroid with Pilfering Swarm. Or just take Nekros

Hell yeah it is.
If you put an Electric mod on it you get corrosive on the primary fire and viral-electric on the secondary fire. Put on two emerald shards (not tauforged) to your Warframe and it'll increase max corrosive stacks to 14 which is a full strip

I used it on my Mesa but like there's genuinely no reason to even take a primary if your Mesa is well built lmao

My Akvasto Prime is nuts in the case I don't have my 4 which I generally always do thanks to Nourish and Zenurik

Put on a toxin and electric mod, and then a heat mod, if you want corro-heat on primary fire

Usually the built-in element doesn't combine when two other elements are added but if you add a mod for the innate type it will combine with the next mod, or stay separate depending on where it is

It'll also make the altfire viral corrosive and heat
