Just so you know why you would want viral and heat is because:
Viral has a STATUS effect that increases damage done to enemy health.
Heat has a STATUS effect that reduces enemy armor by 50% and has a damage over time effect that increases with every additional heat proc which can get to very high numbers.

The common farm is to just do Uranus survival needing both a khora and a nekros as it's only a 1% drop chanse per foe killed. Khora adds a 65% for a extra 1% and nekros adds 2 50% rolls at 1% meaning if you do that setup you have like a 2%-4% per kill to get ONE trillium

IMO the best melee system is sekiro by far, but most soulslikes get it right.

They've made slam attacks much nicer than they used to. Slam melees are eating good right now one of my favs is the Tenet Exec. It's very silly to use on peeps like Kullervo.

But like I mentioned there's some weapon types that have it bad. Like two handed nikanas for example or machetes are just dogwater imo

Yeah I leveled a machete recently and tried to hit a container on the floor and my frame just swiped right over it.

One of the more common stances for machetes your alt forwards is a 360 spin and it has virtually zero range. It looks dorky and more or less does nothing.

Any stances that break the flow off a group of enemies I find is difficult to use most of the time. Dual swords though have it pretty good with Carving Mantis with the only attack that throws you off is a pretty fast rush. Alt on that is good for closing in and you neutral the rest of it. Dual Keres Prime is goated.

Another thing to note once you access more/better Tennokai mods the melee feels a ton better than default.

it just means that you can freely leave and enter duviri now

Anger/Fear/Sorrow spirals, Kullervo's Hold area spawns and you have to fight him to get the banes, which you get at the end of the run with the clamps after the orowyrm fight

if you can, I recommend doing SP Duviri for that, both for more pathos clamps (15 instead of 10) and more kullervo's banes (6/7/8 instead of 4/5/6), but if you can't or don't want to do SP yet then normal is fine too, just have to run it x amount more times

Well the best rivens are the ones that have the highest demand. I.e the most used weapons. Torid is a prime example
