•Re-enabled the “Sensor Ring” overlay. The performance issues it was causing have been addressed, and as such we’ve reintroduced the iOS exclusive overlay!

This update addresses many but not all causes of hitching. We continue working towards additional performance improvements!

Hotfixing will be paused while we buckle down for Techrot Encore this coming March!

One important note: during this downtime, the iOS team may continue to Hotfix to tackle performance improvements exclusive to the Mobile platform!

With that, Devstream 185 is coming in hot on <t:1740769200:F>!

  • Meet the 60th Warframe, Temple, alongside four other Protoframes.
  • Revealing a familiar game mode with a musical twist!
  • Further details about Ash Touchups, Pseudo-Exalted Reworks, and more.
  • Plus, an Aura Forma for watching!

Like always, our next Cert Update includes further code fixes. Code describes changes made directly to the engine, which requires Certification from each Console platform to pass its checks, such as ensuring an Update doesn’t crash the machine itself.

We also need to ensure Cross Platform Play parity so all Tenno can continue to play together!

You can find further details on the “Code” and “Cert” processes here!

However, with all said and done, here are some of the resolved issues from our ‘Known Issues’ list you can expect to see fixed*:

  • Venari does not spawn if you load into 1999 missions via the Pom-2
  • Crashes on consoles related to the Mandonel alt-fire if used by Clients
  • Loss of function when destroying a Scaldra TI-92 with its own turret (Client only)
  • Incarnon Mode is inaccessible to Clients after a Host Migration in the Circuit
  • Missing VFX on Void Mirrors (ex: seen in Isolation Vaults in Deimos)
  • Burst-firing weapons like the Hind or Sybaris ignore the user option "Fire manual-trigger weapons continuously," causing them to fire burst after burst automatically
  • Aiming-down-sight Mods do not grant benefits to Yareli while on Merulina
  • Using VOIP in Faceoff missions on Xbox can cause crashing
  • Weapons that have alt-fires that empty entire magazines (ex: Cyanex, Kuva Kraken, etc.) will retain one bullet left in the chamber

*The other issues on the Known Issues list are still a priority for us, but aren’t in a state where we can confirm them as “fixed”. It is also possible that the issues listed above will not be as fixed as we hoped after more rigorous testing — fingers crossed!

PC: ~3.30 GB

PlayStation 4: ~32.00 GB*

Our PlayStation Tenno will notice a larger than normal build size since we have remastered Warframe’s data to slightly optimize total disc space used. Unlike previous remasters, this update will not require a full re-download of the game.

  • The Punch Through stat is locked on weapon eligible for Punch Through, notably the Cantare.
  • Players could have The New War Quest progression halted early on by an End of Mission screen.
  • You’ll be able to separately customize Charge reticle colors via the HUD Customization screen.

  • Fixed being caught by a Narmer Deacon in The New War quest sometimes resulting in function loss on a black screen.

    Our PC Tenno will notice that the estimated build size varies depending on which version of DirectX is being used. DirectX 11 build is smaller as this update shipped optimizations that made shaders smaller for a minor load-time cost.

As noted above, our PlayStation 4 estimated build size is much larger than PlayStation 5. This is the result of our efforts to keep the install size of Warframe to a minimum. Unfortunately, we aren’t able to confirm the total amount of space saving at this time, but the patch notes will have full details!

³Nintendo Switch Remaster Download Size:
For our Nintendo Switch players, Isleweaver brings you a remaster as well. This results in the overall install size of Warframe being reduced by roughly 3.03GB, bringing the total install size to 22.67GB (down from ~25.7GB).

Some players may need to redownload the entire game if internal storage is not enough and declines the update prompt.

Hotfixing will be paused while we work towards our next Cert build! What could be spearheading this build? A twisted hybrid of shiny things, perhaps…

One important note: during this downtime, the iOS team may continue to Hotfix to tackle performance improvements exclusive to the Mobile platform!

Like always, our next Cert Update includes further code fixes. Code describes changes made directly to the engine, which requires Certification from each Console platform to pass its checks, such as ensuring an Update doesn’t crash the machine itself. We also need to ensure Cross Platform Play parity so all Tenno can continue to play together! You can find further details on the “Code” and “Cert” processes in our Warframe Lexicon for Updates!

Curious about a few of the resolved issues from our ‘Known Issues’ list, in addition to any other issues? You can expect to see the following issues resolved⁺:

  • Simulor and Mutalist Quanta's orbs now block bullets instead of buffing them.
  • Valkyr Heirloom's skirt clips into Valkyr's legs.
    • Additionally, various cloth physics improvements are coming with this Cert Update!
  • Simulor's Spontaneous Singularity Augment results in shots being unable to hit ragdolled enemies.
  • The "Fire Manual Trigger Weapons Continuously" toggle keeps resetting for Keyboard and Mouse (KB+M).
    • This issue is resolved on PC, but not yet for other platforms.
  • Loss of function for Clients after being revived in Isleweaver if Host migrated while they were loading into Teshin’s Cave.
  • Other players’ Abilities appear in various broken states after loading into an in-progress mission (notably, Oraxia’s Silken Stride legs not moving).
  • Players who join in-progress Cambion Drift sessions, leave and then rejoin in the Necralisk not being visible in the loading tunnel, preventing the squad from loading back into the Cambion Drift.
  • Changing the Numerical Separator setting to “1 000,00” will cause Captura settings to start as 0, leading to black screens.

In this latest update we will be remastering some assets and making some optimizations on the Nintendo Switch version. This means that while the update download will be ~20.75 GB, the final installed footprint will be 20.45 GB.

The Shadowgrapher is also our launch of the Nintendo Switch 2 version of Warframe! In this initial launch build there are a lot of higher resolution assets and specific hardware optimizations that account for its larger build size than the original Switch version. The Nintendo Switch 2 version comes with more FPS, higher visual fidelity, improved audio, faster load times, and so much more! Learn more about this new version and our launch celebrations in our news post.

As we have done with other platforms, you can expect us to inform you about its build size in future updates as well.

†††iOS & Android Download Size:

When Warframe updates via the App Store or Google Play Store, it must redownload the base install (up to approximately 4 GB) which overwrites the previous install. In other words, while CERT updates require a roughly 4 GB download depending on your device, these updates are not adding 4 GB to your overall app size.

Upon the launch of the update, when you load the Warframe app, you will receive an “Update Available” popup as usual and be redirected to the App Store or Google Play Store to do so.

PSA: Hotfixing Paused Until Jade Shadows: Constellations

Hey, Tenno!

From now till we see what the stars have to tell us, we’ll be going dark. In other words, we’ll be putting a pause on Hotfixes until Jade Shadows: Constellations launches in June! To learn more about the Update and learn the exact release date, be sure to check out Devstream #196 on <t:1780077600:f> !

One important note: during this downtime, iOS and Android may continue to Hotfix to tackle performance improvements exclusive to the Mobile platform!

Like always, our next Cert Update includes further code fixes. Code describes changes made directly to the engine, which requires Certification from each Console platform to pass its checks, such as ensuring an Update doesn’t crash the machine itself.

We also need to ensure Cross Platform Play parity so all Tenno can continue to play together!

Curious about a few of the resolved issues from our Known Issues list, in addition to any other issues? We hope to resolve the following issues in our upcoming release†:

  • Jade's Glory on High and Hildryn's Balefire do not damage Arctic Eximus bubbles.
  • Metal tint channel inconsistencies for the following cosmetics:
  • Attachments on Marie and Roathe's Gemini Skins (metals are not on the accent tint)
  • Grand Carnus Regalia not using Suit Lining for the metal tint.
  • Truth's Flame Heat Status Effect isn't negated by Status Effect Negation Abilities
  • Using Last Gasp removes bleedout waypoints for players who are downed.
  • Client Sobex using Acid Shells do not benefit from bonus damage type from Cyte-09's Resupply.
  • Clients sometimes not having access to their Focus abilities.
    • There are various factors here, but a known workaround for the Circuit is to not cast Focus Abilities in Teshin's Cave.
  • Large delay when using Transference in a Hub for the first time.

†The bounty of issues on our Known Issues list is still a priority, but some aren’t in a state to confirm as 100% “fixed.” Additionally, we’ll continue to test the above fixes to ensure they are fully resolved on all platforms, should any outlying issues arise.

Yesterday, we released the Nights of Naberus update across all console platforms. Unfortunately, this update accidentally featured some Riven disposition changes that were scheduled to be released with Nezha Prime Access. We sincerely apologize for the unexpected tricks and treats!

These changes have since been removed from all consoles, but in the interest of transparency, we wanted to share the exact changes you can expect when this update returns to all platforms. All of the trends explained in our last Riven workshop still hold true - there are fewer gun reductions than ever, and melees are still in a state of flux. Archgun Rivens are also being added to the mix from this point forward!
