She's quite outdated by now and a lot of modern tech would be very effectively applied to her. I still think that she should be a tap/hold frame to toggle between the abilities of each form, and needs an additional mechanic.
e.g using the abilities of both forms fills up each side of a bar, and when both sides are full, you can enter an empowered state where all abilities gain additional effects. Something like Eclipse mode

Mend Needs a Massive buff, because My word nobody uses it. Make it so it follows a order, it tries to max out each thing per nearby enemy killed. Health, Shield, Overshield and Overguard.
Upon deactivating it it uses the points to fill everything as much as possible
