(This concept can be implemented at any time although it will probably be its own update.)
Before we start, when 1.0 came out I was extremely disappointed with the lack of unique units. (Although I do enjoy the game as currently.)
Now lets get to it.
Unit Expansion
Concept:
In this game, their is way too few units. With the limited option of 4. Although the Bowmen, Footman, Spearman, and Knight all are great and balanced, I feel like this game really lacks the choice for units in it.
So I propose in this suggestion that a expansion of 10 units and get its own update (The Besiege Update.)
Below are some units I think should be added.
***Melee units: ***
⚔️ Militia:
Weapon: Training weapon or club.
Strengths: Cheap and fast to train.
Drawback: Really weak and easy to kill.
🪓 Axeman:
Weapon: Axe
Strengths: Good at close up killing siege equipment.
Drawback: Slightly lower armor.
🪖 Halberdier:
Weapon: Halberd
Strengths: Long range axe.
Drawbacks: Lower armor
🔨 Warhammer:
Weapon: Hammer
Strength: AOE effect weapon with high damage.
Drawbacks: Very low attack speed.
💂 Guard:
Weapon: Pike (Or other)
Strength: Good defenders.
Drawback: Low movement speed.
Ranged:
🔫 Matchlock Infantry:
Weapon: Tanegashima (Japanese matchlock gun AKA Musket.)
Strengths: High single target damage rate.
Drawback: 5-8 second reload time + low movement speed when reloading.
🏹 Crossbowmen:
Weapon: Crossbow
Strengths: Better damage and higher range
Drawbacks: Longer training + cost.
Special:
🏇 Calvary:
Weapon: Lance
Strength: Fast movement speed and damage + after horse dies becomes a lance unit.
Drawbacks: Needs a horse, High passive cost + new building to train it.
🏹 Shielded Marksmen:
Weapon: Shield + Crossbow
Strength: Higher Armor + Defense
Drawbacks: Higher cost to train.
🧙♂️ Wizard:
Weapon: None
Strength: Fireball (High damage and AOE.)
Drawbacks: Higher cost + Passive cost and new building to get it.
