So before and during the war, Vandal was only loyal to three things. The Decepticons, Silas and his Creative.
And everywhere he went, Chaos followed in the vision of bright colors and laughter.

Long story short, she is basically one of the few survivors to survive the torture, and even walked away with enhanced optics. She gets assigned to have his traumatic memories mnemosurgically removed so she can be repurposed as an actual Search and Rescue soldier, but her surgeon (who is kinda new to things) gets swayed my her emotions during the surgery.

Dox resents the idea of getting wiped because he’s poetically built his identity off of his pain and experiences, so the medic ends up not following orders (and they become fwens!) and also another medic who sees Dox as a friend sorta, and fixes her right up whenever her og tormentor recalls her back for ‘maintenance’ (code word for sadistic fun, because she’s like a cockroach who refuses to die)
