Been a while, gonna dust off this little chat

Been thinking about the motivations for my characters

While I like what I had before I wanna try and spice things up a bit, it feels like I’m too close to what IDW (and now TFOne) did

Some general ideas
Optimus- still the idealist and noble but maybe a little misguided and by the time he sees the errors of his beliefs it’s to late, and is appointed prime. When on earth he’s stern and unfeeling, his arc is reconnecting with warmth he had as Orion while still having a firm hand to guide the autobots
Megatron- before I had him as a sympathetic character but I kinda want to change him to always have been evil or at least a bully of some kind, some ideas I have rn are he was a member of the council who served in a war, but in reality he just liked the idea of subjecting people. His overall plan on cybertron was to militarize it to take back the colonies that have since then become independent, but obviously members like Optimus and others saw what he was doing which set off the war
The timeline I had earlier is still intact for the most part

Other things I kinda wanna explore
Elita’s character, I want her to steer away from this position she’s had lately in comics of this cybertornians first, she feels like she borders on evil sometimes. I think I want her to mirror Optimus, as someone who has a “firm hand” but can balance it out with her “humanity” for lack of a better term. If Optimus is inspiring for everyone else I want Elita’s character be inspiring for Optimus.
I think the decepticons would be interesting in varying factions of ideology but all still follow Megatron either out of fear or respect, which are exemplified with Soundwave and Starscream

To add onto this megatron could sway a little when he meets Orion, and they often go back and forth with their ideals and build a friendship slowly influencing each other, but ultimately it’s Megatrons lust for power that will lead him to betray Optimus and send him spiraling

I think that’ll add a little complexity to both characters
