#Split Scav Units and Scav Eco

why not though? what's the problem with that? Imo it's a valid want
For me its sometimes actually the other way around that I want to have the eco without the OP units. So splitting them up would be nice
I split it into two, ok. Then people come and want some another specific split, ok so it's split into even more parts... eventually you end up having 10 toggles and nobody knows which pack contains which units.
It's already not obvious with two.
What we really need is a big menu where you can enable/disable specific units, with presets.
Like the community balance patch? Where you can enable and disable certain parts of it?
FAF has what i'm thinking about, let me get a screenshot of it.
Well you know, you could draw the line after one split. I think splitting into economy and units makes a lot of sense. And I'm not sure what is not obvious with just two toggles labeled "Scav economy", and "Scav combat"
I already draw the line after one split though
the Extra and Scav split
it used to be just one
you see where i'm going with this? 😄
waiting
Extra units are balanced units, Scav are unbalanced, those are completely different things. Not to mention scav is related to a gamemode, AND it contains economy + units. Extra units only contain units. It's not the same
nah internally they're all Extra/Scavenger units with no differentiation, the line between them is very blurry
This'd be sick ngl, is it already planned/requested somewhere?
the idea was floating around for a while but no i don't think it's in da plan.
Surely it wouldn't take more than an hour of time for you to make a tweakdef disabling the scav eco
that's significantly more complicated though, especially for someone who has no idea how this works, and every person would have to do it themselves...
Guys, chill
The tweakdef could be shared in the #1129127537763692654 channel once someone's made it
You're right, my wording was too aggressive, but the option still stands for the tweak
I think i've put my reasoning straight.
The pack used to be one, by request, got split into two with a very vague line.
I just don't want to have a precedence of splitting it even further, because there will be no stop to this.
The argument will always be "just this one more time and then we stop".
It all needs a bigger rework anyway
I can try thinking of something.
but the less options and combinations of options there are, the better
only recently we had this funny spaghetti bug where Notifications were dying when Zombies were enabled without Legion being enabled because of some assumptions. With every new option added, things get more fragile and more "else's" need to be added all over the code.
