If a player goes afk, disconnects or whatever I think it's best for the rest of the players still playing that that teammates' resource sharing is set to min.

Otherwise and currently the resources are locked up until Take or storage overflows.
(Yes, I know in competitive games /stop is typical)

What happens to units that require e upkeep?

I thought I saw this happen before, was it a feature that was removed?

I think the idea is okay, but I think it needs a thorough theorycraft.

A few issues I see is:

I join a game, I play a bit, my game crashes. I rejoin about a minute later, but the game put my sharing to Min and now I've lost most of my metal? People can give metal, sure, but that's only if they're nice.

So we can mitigate this, by either waiting some time or slowly reducing the slider towards Min over time. But then how much time should that be? And how long would it take for the storage to fill up and share anyways, making the system redundant?

interesting question actually, if you /take, do you even get the resources of that player? i'll have to test that later

# lilac smelt Why wouldn't you just /take? The disadvantage of someone being afk or disconnec...

Idk, maybe nobody notices, or maybe nobody wants to manage 2 bases.
We occasionally receive reports about people going afk, and then you look inside and they were available to /take all along. It's a rare thing, so this won't solve any huge problem, but I don't see any adverse effects in having the sliders lowered to 0 using the same mechanism that makes the player available to /take
