OP take is boring, red and yellow take a poop's base each and theres no winning after. Vry cringe

K thx.

Someone leaving isn't the best.
But should it always be a death sentence?
This just feels like more lobby sim, due to more !stop votes

the fact that a 50os player takes a shit 30os players base and can cascade easily is a probleum

its nearly as bad as coop tbh

snow basin
#

makes more sense for the team losing a player to get a disavantage rather than winning the game

#

maybe not in the poop lobbies but in op lobby that's how it goes

lament canyon
#

ok but we also remove !stop command past the game start, and the team that loses a player HAS to resign and lose OS

#

no dodging

This game really highlighted the issue, east side win top and bottom lane at least to the extent of making the front players quit. So now red and yellow have 2 bases each after teching and its practically a gifted free win. It just feels a bit absurd that its a legitimate factor you always have to consider to not make your low os opponent quit too early when youre in the carry spot against the crater for example

#

I feel like it encourages people flaming their low os player too since the best thing your chances to win is if they leave lol

#

I have no idea what an actual good solution would look like though

OP take is just bad design. Which makes sense because BAR has no design team apparently

Last player can just give everything to top player even without leaving. This doesn't resolve anything.
If you don't like take just !stop if it fails then just play, whoever takes has split APM so it's not all good (but usually worth it). Destroying everything is a death sentence for that team, especially if the game has been going for some time, the reverse is not true as much.

I know FAF had a similar problem with the share system, where because of how it worked losing coms and thus their players wasn't a huge deal and in fact I distinctly remember watching a few casted games there where players dropping out literally boosted the top players on the team and let them win
I also remember that to try and solve this FAF introduced a system where you could set games to different share methods when a player died
Could set it to fullshare (player gets knocked out, all their stuff is given to highest skill player), partial share (all buildings are retained, but all units belonging to the player that died instantly self D) and no share (everything blows up)
Perhaps something similar could be implemented in this case? Although since almost no BAR games use the "player resign on com death" to allow for more aggressive com play I'm not sure how something like this could be implemented, just spitballing ideas

We shouldn't be solving design issues with giving players a choice

depends on the maps i think, lane maps having leavers is usually harder but for maps like rosetta it mostly depends on when the dude left
if he leaves pre 5 mins then it's must harder for the solo player but if it's after 10 mins then it's not an issue and usually a big boost for the solo player

wicked loom
#

unless sum1 come up with an actual good idea its just a problem with no solution

lament canyon
#

Make it so /take is not possible and the leavers stuff is just overflowing resources to allies evenly

#

I think that would be the least invasive option while not just allowing the good player to take it all and make full use of it

#

And it would then punish the team for having a leaver, as it should be

earnest coyote
#

Maybe only allow taking if similarly rated

lament canyon
#

no stupid arbitrary exceptions

earnest coyote
#

you are right, someone could also take then transfer to top player immediately after

lament canyon
#

It's like law.

#

The less exceptions there are, the harder it is to circumvent.

earnest coyote
#

idk why even invent any new laws then, seems to be fine as is IMHO

snow basin
#

yea tbh it's kinda a skill issue to kill someone especially if he's lower OS and don't expect it to be counter productive when someone else takes

lament canyon
#

With my idea theres only one loophole

#

If the leaver leaves intentionally they can give their stuff before leaving

Pooman has been moderated.
CoC B4 - Griefing by resigning, which lowers your team's chances at victory. If you want to stop playing a match, resign give your things to an ally.

-# nah pass

lament canyon
#

So you'd need to completely disable unit sharing.

#

You know, in every other ranked game, leaving is automatically banned

#

If it happens rarely, its very short

#

But if you repeatedly leave, the ban grows

wispy hedge
#

Yeah it's just easy to share resources and units here, so someone leaving only denies your team your apm.

lament canyon
#

But its not like you get some bonus resources

#

From the fact someone left

-# coop on steroids

lament canyon
#

The core reason why coop works is the fact that assisting works so well

#

You can effortlessly multiply the resources spent on a thing

warm jolt
#

How lovely bar is where team mates existance is just a waste and grief to the team. Where ur only hope is that they quit the game.

#

I recommend implementing game mechanics where being a player is important. And perhaps while at it, implement features to make winning in first place meaningful

lament canyon
#

winning in first place
How would you determine a "first place"

#

in a way that doesn't discriminate any playstyle

#

good luck lol

#

imo

#

just treat leavers as losers

#

even if they win

woven arrow

ocean dragon
#

If this gets implemented a leaver will just get bullied into transfering all to team before leaving. Doesnt solve anything, just makes a new, bigger, problem

cold schooner
#

Also opens another issue: Is it considered griefing to leave then, because the units get destroyed

haughty quiver
#

Why is this thread getting humoured at all? The opening post is calling low os poop how about we treat high os players that actively let their teammates die as the griefers and if thats too draconian... hear me out... these high and mighty os masters can host their own lobbies with min ratings to avoid playing with the rest of us plebs

Honestly just make it if one person leaves it takes a person on the team that still has 8 kicks one out that was on the same slot so if worst player left worst player gets kicked and it turns into a game of who has the better top player 🤤🤤🤤

Solution to this was already proposed in coop fix. You cannot take resource generators they remain to the leaver and just over flow to team
