I think that's the issue, I don't know about any other possible case where spring.exe is not available.

Oh, there was no spring.exe for some reason... I deleted 105.1.1-2201-g1199a58 bar folder and launcher download it properly in the second time.
Maybe launcher can suggest to redownload the engine again if such situation happen?

Also my antivirus was off.

I wanted to do it as part of the current launcher update, but run out of time and really need to get the current one out of the door.

Very unexpected and not sure I can believe it? Do you have any antivirus logs or anything to check?

Because this issue happens only close to the engine releae, not really much more often later on when all antivirus dbs are working fine

No antivirus logs, is there download logs i can check?

And when we install new engine, we download archive, unzip archive to a temporary location, and then move the folder from the temporary to final destination, which should prevent any partial unpacking errors or anything like this to mess up the folder

All logs are in launcher logs, but they don't have entires for all the individual files, it will just have: downloaded -> unpacked -> moved.

And also, it's always spring.exe that is missing
