#Long discussions here should be summarized

I often see here topics that take off and lead to an extended discussions. I am very interesed, what is the outcome of these discussions? I can't read through thousands of messages. After the discussion has lasted for a little while AFAIK I can't even easily jump to top to read what the OP was about.

I guess the simplest solution would be to make a rule that the OP is responsible (but anyone can contribute) to create a summary, but that would be kind of difficult to enforce. And where would you put it? Post into the messages once a day or week ("the story so far: ...")?

The summary could include things like

  • Short description what the initial idea was (with the help of retrospective and additional info that has become availiable)
  • General tone of opinions (10 for, 20 against, 99 ppl had other ideas how to solve this)
  • Which were the most popular (or best wrt some other criterion) alternatives offered?
  • Did developers have any say (not technically possible; not in alignment with current grand plan; taken into plans; somebody has already implemented/fixed it; etc)

This would be helpful with long threads like #1155918637820022854 , I occasionally check that one and it's the same arguments being repeated every few days ad nauseam.

have each side summarize their points for xD
and importantly organize a poll ig
there's this saying that players can tell when something feels bad, but they don't know the game design / ramnifications of change so you often can't rely on their suggestions

Poll idea is great but i think many have stopped reading the thread by the end and won't answer

he doesn't want to autistically read every comment in a feedback thread and derive his own conclusions from the pile of spergery and arguing
Tbh you probably aren't the sort of person who should be frequenting the feedback forum of a niche online robot battle strategy game made for free by random nerds on the internet
Sifting through the garbage and finding meaning is a personal journey and one that shouldn't be done for you

Copy and paste into chatgpt and ask to summarize

Chatgpt doesn't accept this big input. I did consider running something locally for that but it seems too much hassle

What’s the character limit? Create an AGI and ask the devs to help integrate into the discord somehow
