#revert the scavs back to their original form

For now it is. And your opinion is valid. However i already have some plans how to make it more unique from here.
I needed good codebase to start with since old Scavengers were an absolute spaghetti mess. A revert won't happen, but i can ensure you that over time, not a long time, it will look less like a Raptor reskin 🙂
Keep an eye out to #👾|scavengers™ as i'm sure i'm gonna be sharing development progress there
(need Development interest role to see that channel)
@granite star
I disagree. Scavengers are actually playable now and my friend who did not like it in it's original form can now understand what it is and how to play it.
All it needs is a balance pass. It went from ridiculously hard to ridiculously easy now that difficulty settings actually seem to do something.
if you like the old version, you can pick and older version of the game with that in it
possible for singleplayer in skylobby, getting a multiplayer game is harder though
@hot sigil i know its a bit late but how do i do that?
how did you guys win
Generous grace period. We were too well entrenched when they started spawning.
increases grace period
"ridiculously easy"
I've played enough games of scav to measure old scavs vs new scavs and even accounting for the grace period it was still much easier at the same difficulty setting.
I'll just hint that the first thing that is going to be revamped is their base building.
I very much dislike how their current "base" looks like
just a completely nonsense blob of random turrets
it works well with Raptors
but doesn't work at all here
If you could shoot me a replay of surviving the first few waves on hard with normal grace period that would be sweet! Im willing to learn 🙏
I'm not sure how much help I can be but let me try. On old scavs I think I played normal with about 5 minutes grace and the key is SPEED. You want to always be pushing your front line towards the scavs non stop and rapidly area-capturing neutral assets as they fall behind your front line with your Com and your support drones.
That means early units and it means using your commander aggressively. Whereas in normal battles you can afford to backline, eco up etc, your main eco boosts come from securing Scav Resource Generators (Bronze, Silver and Gold) which will jumpstart your economy. A single Silver Resource Gen is equivalent to multiple APU's so those are priority #1 for capture!
T3 snipes are also so important, so Arm is favored a bit here IMO. Eventually scavs will roll out Jugg/Behe/Titans etc and at that point if you can't hold, you're done. So Pulsar/Bulwark death balls with T3 artillery support are the name of the game. Scavs also love air so lots of mobile AA.
Bottom line: It's a momentum game. Don't let the scavs build up enough momentum or your chance of winning drops precipitiously.
Also res bots. LOTS of res bots. They will rez most of what you send at them and you need to return the favor wherever possible.
