#Why is BAR team battle so team based?

"why is team game team based" sounds like a circular question so i'll assume your actual question is "why is victory more dependent on some roles than others"

#

in which case because it's exponential. 10^8 * 1 is better than 10^1 * 8

None has the guts to frontline they all try to pick backline or air or naval or anything that isnt frontline

#

I go frontline and after fufilling the role of the 20 minutes it just gets steam rolled by back that is spamming shivas or thors or razors

#

And i have even began investing in pulsars and shields to actually hold in the T3 stage and yet backline is just sitting there doing absolutely nothing.

#

Front role should be much more rewarding

As a frontline player, i hear ya πŸ˜›

Honestly. I figured out that as a Frontline player you can get a ton of reclaim if you play smart. All that reclaim can help you scale up really quick if you just have buildpower.
I recommend making metal and energy storage so you can make stuff without affecting your units and reclaim without overflow

You can match backline eco on some maps as front

#

And that situation you described is just 2v1 with bad teammates on backline.

Just going by what you wrote; sometimes allied backplayer is a little incompetent, it happens not much you can do if it's an even game for the rest.

#

But if you are crushing your direct opponent it becomes a different story; in these situations you should not be taking some extra mexes and calling it a done job, this is where the fun part actually begins πŸ˜›

#

It is a good time to take a close look at your allies & enemies and how they are doing, doublecheck gametime and determine what you need to start doing to win the game

#

Sometimes you can spam hard and just start flowing into enemy backline (this will usually force a response, but thats ok it interrupts enemy back ecoing and if you start preparing a response yourself can lead into you siphoning eco from them through reclaim) and sidelanes (always look for the most depleted/most even fight and go make it unfair)

#

You will always want to at least start sending raiding units and other low cost attacks all over the place since there is a hole in enemy lines now, you gotta make it leak like crazy

#

Very often you can also find opportunity to boom yourself, especially if you got a good chunk of reclaim just make mstorage, stop unit production and eco hard. Gotta keep an eye on things but as frontliner you typically have way more and often better mexes, you can eco much harder than a backliner and if you get reclaim+reclaim obsolete units+have good position it can get a little crazy if you are left alone for a few minutes and suddenly you have 3 or 4 afus ;D

Also tick spam is the goat, the goat!!

hardy socket
#

In most cases you only need a few minutes of boom and you can often start resuming unit production at a low pace while continuing to boom indefinitely

#

Nothing worse than flooding enemy flanks with swarm of ticks

#

Remember to put T2 mexes on the Frontline because usually these have highest amount and it can get truly ridiculous

#

T2 Mex gives 3 times more metal from a spot if I remember correctly

hardy socket
#

well scouts can be annoying to spam but not quite what i was thinking of when i said cost effective attacks

#

in 90% of cases some tickspam is just a minor annoyance and not something that does real damage

#

you certainly wont get a backliner to interrupt their ecoing or start a cascade wipe of enemy bases that way πŸ˜›

Ticks can get spicy if ally needs some vision on the lane. Like naval and strait peepoCantSleep

hardy socket
#

well im talking here of how to leverage a lane win into a game win, and the answer is not ticks πŸ˜›

tardy haven
#

True, answer is driving 30 stouts into metal makers

hardy socket
#

if you can get them there that is, thats almost an afus in stouts

#

such attacks will also be much less effective against good players so it's a dangerous habit to learn

#

(a good backliner will just build some t2 popup turrets in seconds, kill all your tanks and reclaim them & the porc - then you will have just helped them)

#

this is why you want to use cheap, fast, small groups of well-micro'ed raiding units

#

it has similar damage potential, needs lots of attention to catch and won't cripple your own boom because you had to spend 7500 metal to make an attack xD

#

and especially if you win your lane, it is extremely important to not start accidentally helping the other team πŸ˜›

#

In most cases you should prefer to raid with some t2 units because by the time you win your lane and create a leak, all backliners will definitely be t2 (and just use these cheap raider units to counter your t1 raiding attempts)

#

A great idea is to buy a t2 con (if you havent already) and buy a twitcher or consul from someone if possible (these units can build fiends/hounds respectively - saving you from having to invest in t2 lab, worst case you can build the lab, make twitcher/consul yourself and then reclaim the lab to dump into more t2 mex/fusion, but focus on making t2 mexes first if you cant build the lab without stalling)

#

I find using ambassadors against backliners hilarious if there is a huge hole left after Frontline dies

#

4 ambassadors can detonate fusion really fast and safely

hardy socket
#

sure it can work sometimes but ultimately it is a tool for (slowly) dismantling porc, using units assymetrically is fine but it is also a bit like using a wrench to drive a nail when you can just grab a hammer - the game is a lot easier if you use units for their mostly intended purposes πŸ˜›

tardy haven
#

I just don't like touching porcs 😭

#

It's always the case of pulling out just before porc falls and wasting a ton of units

hardy socket
#

well the answer to porc is quite simple, it is static so as long as you outrange, it cant hurt you - the ambassadors in this case are the perfect tool, enough damage to overpower repair, very long range and stealthy so even juno wont easiily stop your siege

#

if you are ramming your units into porc you are providing value to the enemy, porc is always more cost-efficient than units but if the porc never gets to fire a shot it is just wasted metal
