Can you try launching the engine directly without launcher?

i had the same error. (my log is autouploaded somewhere, i guess) it only hapend the first time i tried to launch after fresh install. afterwards it always seemed to have launched.

It will be in your game folder \Beyond-All-Reason\data\engine

Open folder with biggest number, execute spring.exe
