#Looking for help creating a couple LUTs for a mod I'm making for The Forest

I'm creating a (completely free) mod for the Forest which adds context-aware dynamic color grade switching. The mod changes between various game-engine color grading presets based on player x/y/z and time of day, and my desire is to use reshade LUTs to smooth the transition between them. Here's how the mod currently works:

I just need like 4-6 (at most) LUTs to help smooth the transitions between the various color grading presets. So for example, when a user enters a cave, reshade will gradually fade a LUT up to 100% chroma/luma and then the game engine will flip from one preset to the other and the LUT will disable at the same time to create an unnoticeable transition.

Instead of trying to do this myself, I'd much rather lean on the expertise of someone who knows what they're doing and who can closely approximate the desired look with the LUT(s). This is the final piece I need to complete the mod and to make it truly feel like an official-quality update to the game. If you think you can help, please reach out! I will of course credit you

It's quite easy now to create LUTs in Photoshop and export them. You can export only .CUBE (which is best for Photoshop) or and or all of the suggestions which are .3DL, .CSP, and ICC Profile.

Get your images color corrected, however you like, Camera Raw or Adjustment Layers, Duplicate and/or flatten the file, as you need a Background Layer with the colors. Then select File > Export > Color Look Up Tables. You can then use the exported files to import into whatever software you need that support LUTs.

As you're probably aware, LUTs work differently with each image you chose, What would work for my image here, wouldn't work for yours, as it would probably look terrible (and I've enhanced the colors here just to show you), so it's easier for you to create the color correction and then export your own LUTs. I could give you hundreds, but they'll be mostly useless to you.

Failing that, there's many you can get for free online or purchase, but it's always better to create your own.

Hey, thanks for the reply. What I’m trying to do is quite specific in that I’m trying to create LUTs to match color grading options in order to ease transitions. For example, see this video:

https://youtu.be/2vJk1CyAJdI?si=Dn3u5uOxP2dqw0Hm

In the first clip, I enter the cave and the color grading switches from “original” to “darkblue”. It’s quite apparent due to the stark contrast when this happens. In the second clip this contrast is lessened because I use a LUT to try and mimic the look of the first color grading preset, then that LUT is gradually faded to 0 in order to reveal the “darkblue” color grading beneath

First clip is without, second clip is with
