#Auto import to Lr

are you continually adding the photos that you already have to your collection? make sure to do so, then go into file handling > dont import suspected duplicates
I deselect all images then tick the new ones and import. It's just a pain having to do that when there is a tick against new photos but all images get selected.
The issue is that LR doesn’t recognize these “new images” as duplicates because they are not cataloged in LR
OK thank you. I must not be using Lr optimally then. All I've ever done when I import is use the 'copy' option which automatically pops up, there is always a default tick in the New Photos field and then Lr will automatically put a tick against every image which is still on my SD card. What should I do differently?
Appreciate your help.

I have only two pictures on the SD card. However when I press import, all other older photos appeared, despite I have reformatted the card.
This doesn't quite fit my situation tbh. My sequence is this
Open Lr
Insert SD card
Import window automatically opens on the Copy option
In the header where New Photos is there I'd already a tick in the box but then every image in the SD card gets a tick.
This is my issue. I then have to deselect all and reselect the ones I want to import.
Hi, are the previously imported images still in your catalog ? Which version of LrC is it exactly ?
