#Clipping adjustments to layers
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
So you need to clip the adjustment layer to the bottle layer
right click on the adjustment layer thumnail and choose "create clipping mask"
Do i create the clipping mask on the bottle layer?
It will look like that, with the arrow next to the name
Which one is the adjustment layer im so bad at this sorry
Yes exactly
So the adjustment layer only affects THAT layer, and not the rest
Now that i made a clipping mask the bottle looks like transparent
You need to probably re-do the level settings.
Also since you're filming your screenshots, I cannot really see how your screen looks>
Can you screenshot (and not take a photo/film) your screen?
there are plenty of useful info to be found in the rest of the screen that could help me answering the question.
on windows, to screenshot you can do SHIFT+WINkey+S and choose the area you can to screenshot. It places it directly in your clipboard and then all you have to do is paste it on discord (CTRL+V)
that's because you clipped the bottle
you need to clip the adjustment layer
like in my screenshot. I clipped the level layer, not the layer beneath it
No problemHere's the help file for a refresher
https://helpx.adobe.com/uk/photoshop-elements/using/clipping-masks.html
Also, I see you got the beta version?
No idea , im at this working place
I use illustratorin but they making me learn photoshop for social media posts
OK, no problem. I was thinking that a beta version is not ideal when you're a beginner. Lots of features aren't referenced yet, it's harder to find the info
Thats why i find it a bit hard to screenshot cuz on a new pc
Not a problem though
Oh okay
Btw i got this one more problem
When i press ctrl z i can go back just one time
Dont forget something. In the help menu (on top) you got something called "hands-on tutorials". You type what you want to do, and if it's basic stuff, the thing will show you directly in the interface.
Yes, you need to open the history panel to go back multiple times. But that's also mean your Photoshop may not be set up perfectly. (and that's probably because it's beta version)
I would discuss with your boss to move on to the real version.
Oh okay thank you so much
You're welcome!
The adjustment is the one on top, curves. You need your clip that one to the bottle layer. Another way is to alt+click between them
Do not hesitate to pull on the bottom of the layers panel to stretch it, in order to make everything visible for those helping you.
