I'm not sure, I guess it ignores a negative shape. I would honestly do this in InDesign

#

Otherwise close the "bridge" and add a rectangle below, paste the rest of the text there?

ah hey

#

ty for helping

#

🙂

Yeah! I mean I would just do the method with the "bridge" and the last few lines of text, delete those and set them up in their own text box (rectangle) below

#

and close it up

#

fake it, you know?

keen gust
#

ah okay

#

so pen tool?

magic zephyr
#

I used the pen tool for the bridge but for the bottom closing shape you don't even need a shape or pen tool, just make the text box line up with your text above:

keen gust
#

yeah okay

#

last question

#

how do i make it equal on both sides

#

without just eyeballing it

#

i cant place a ruler on botyh sides equally either

magic zephyr
#

Hm, what do you mean about rulers?

#

like this?

#

(of course that looks bad because the words are long/fake)

keen gust
#

yeah i find it really hard to get the rules equal distance

#

from one another

#

like mirroring them

magic zephyr
#

I would draw a rectangle and then pull the rule lines out to snap to it, delete the rectangle

#

How I did the above, selected the bridge shape I drew, then dragged out my rulers to snap to it

keen gust
#

final thing looks pretty good

#

would you change anything?

magic zephyr
#

looks good! I don't know if you want your last line "your companion" to start and end with the rest of the square or no?

#

I think it works

keen gust
#

what do you mean

#

im not seeing what you mean

#

ohh i see

#

you mean its not perfectly square

#

on the bottom text

#

true

#

i just changedit, looks better the other way

#

ty for the feedback 🙂

#

#

If only Photoshop had something like Illustrator: Object > Text Wrap > Make or InDesign's Text Wrap panel so that you could literally do it in 3 clicks... no "fake it" necessary😜
