There is not enough detail in your image to make it work, so the best way for a designer would be to recreate it to look similar to what was proposed above.

Could part of it be that the puppet warp mesh thing is in the open space in between the limbs? And if so how could I make it so that it only affects the actual stick figure and not the open space between its parts?

It's quite distracting, especially when I quickly move my cursor over to select a tool, and have to do a double take to make sure that I'm hovering over the right tool, because the high contrast dark selection takes visual priority over the smaller mouse cursor.
If it doesn't get fixed, it's not a big deal, but I'll probably cancel my subscription for the next year
also, the existence of noticable input lag in a menu as commonly used as the toolbar, just leads to a feeling of unprofessionalism and jankiness that permeates through the whole experience, especially because you're using that toolbar quite a lot.

I had to check it myself. And you are right, it's there. But I'm not so sure about it being the app lag. Notice how it occurs in every panel that uses icons to pick functions and doesn't happen on canvas or at the top menu (File, Edit...). I'm not saying Ps doesn't need to be rewritten to match new Adobe design like Xd uses but to me it's the developers' ux decision. If you see it as a valid reason not to use the app then it's ok, but for me this is the first time I notice it after years of use. Oh, and this 'lag' is only visual, mouse clicks are not affected

Lol, I know it sounds insane, but the ui lag does actually hinder my use of the product under normal use.
Most people in here probably don't realize it just becuase they've just been using the software for so long, but coming from a software like GIMP, it's pretty noticeable.
I guess I was being a little hyperbolic yesterday about quitting photoshop just because of the ui lag, but it's just one of the straws that broke the camel's back for me.
With the absolutely insane price of photoshop and the creative suite, seeing small issues like this being some of the first things you see when starting up the project is kind of unreasonable for me.
It shows me that Adobe would rather wring as much money as possible out of their consumers, over actually working towards justifying their price tag with quality.
Other than that, I'm just dissapointed in photoshop in general, and it's looking like GIMP is a better software for my needs.

🤔 I don't have big issues like that and I'm working on paintings in 7000x10000px (Though I'm only up to 11 layers on my current one). What kind of setup do you have? I'm only at 16gb ram as well, 8gb allocated to PS.

The only way to add to your selection in illustrator seems to be to use the selection tool and hold shift, but if your selection cursor goes over an item that is already selected, it will deselect the item.

It's hard to tell because it's not a screenshot, but it looks like a fabric/canvas texture. You can find them for free on unsplash and add it as a layer on top of everything else, with a multiply or darken blend mode.

Back when I was starting, CC price was the only thing stopping me from buying it. But later, when I got my first full-time job as photo/video specialist I could finally afford it. Currently, my employee provides me a copy of CC and I also pay for my private one. I agree the price might be crazy for some people and it really is if you are not earning your money by using CC apps. Of course, everyone would be happy if it was a free software but it is not. For me, sharing some part of my earnings with Adobe doesn't hurt that much when I see everything I do and things I could do with their apps. Yes, once a year I check their competition and honestly, having to switch to Affinity, Gimp or anything else would put me back years of knowledge of the app, techniques and workflow methods. I see your frustration if you came from Gimp so you now have two options - stay in the free Gimp world and be happy or get into industry with Photoshop

well, artboard has it's own rights when it comes to rendering your work so at certain zoom levels it might look blocky/weird because of interpolation

when scaling down you have to be aware that it might be even mathematically but not necessarily look right. It's again because of interpolation - it tries it's best to compensate pixel loss. Let me show you an example

Now, if I enter transform mode and start scaling it down, you can see that now, in transform mode, it goes a little off when I zoom in
and, when I press enter, it tries it's best to compensate the difference by making edge pixels semi-transparent
this might not be the best example but you can see it happens when actually working on real files

It's possible that I released the alt before I unclicked and didn't realize it, then rescaled again which means everything is just getting proportionately worse.

in this case, a good practice would be having every element on a separate layer so you align it in case something fails

heh. I think I create too many layers of stuff sometimes, so keeping objects separate isn't usually an issue. When making the rings though, you have to combine the layers with ctrl+E so I can extrude/emboss the different "bands" or rings.
I'm going to chalk my issue up to operator error when scaling.

Hi everyone! I have a .tiff of a piece of artwork – it is a painting that has been photographed. I need to extend the edges of the artwork in photoshop or illustrator. I would like the edge of the painting to blend/fade into a darker black background seamlessly. The end result is that I have space to add text to one side for a product label. I don't want to see an abrupt line where the "background" begins and the painting ends. Can anyone tell me how to do this or send me a tutorial on how to make this work? I can find lots of tutorials on how to do this with photos, but this seems a little different since it is a painting.
