That's likely mean that you have to transform an editable text (the kind you type with your keyboard) in vector curves (no longer editable with the keyboard) so that the printer detect it as "curves" (vector path) instead of text. It's so that they don't have to worry about not having the font on their computer. When you turn a text to curve, it's not longer a font, but a simple path.

I have been know to put wikipedia articles in lieu of Lorem Ipsum (I think designers deserve more than Lorem Ipsums 🙂 : controversial opinion there!). That said, it's esy to change the filler text in InDesign, but I don't know if it's possible in Photoshop, I never tried it. So if you want some filler text, try to find a long wikipedia article related to what the poster is about and copy and paste it in place of the filler text.

Those fonts are called BlackLetter in English. If you go to Adobe Fonts, and type black letter, you'll find your fonts.

For example a wikipedia about vampires would go nicely with that kind of font (goth for ever!) 🦇

That depends what you want to do: I have a monitor that displays 100% sRGB (I'm a photo retoucher) but I don't give two hoots about crazy refresh time etc (I don't do video or play games). A monitor that is easily tilted, can go up and down, in case you need to stay in front of it for hours. Something you can calibrate (that's actually more important for me than a lot of things!)

And also the right size for you (I believe it's better to have two screens - a smaller one for the panels if you really need it - than a gigantic screen that gives you a full neck workout everytime you need your full screen.)

I have a 24" and really think it's enough.

Using mask and colour range you can make it work and if not, tracing is an option shape is quite simple to trace and make vector from it for convenience.

You can't really, unless you select it yourself based on colour or shape with an automatic method. But retrieving selections from the ACR module is not possible within Photoshop. These work completely differently. Actually ACR is a sort of mini-lightroom within Photoshop and the two intefaces and workflow are completely different

And BY the Way I agree with you that the selection in ACR tend to be way better than Photoshop's own, and I don't understand why people don't use it more

I've seen similar effects, but done in illustrator with graphic styles. Which would also make sense in this case given there is also what seems to be a real 3D effect. I need to search for Photoshop, bear with me

I've done similar reflection stuff in a 3D typography but all was done in the 3D software. I used an HDRi as a reference for the reflection

You could test Dimension which is a free (with a CC) staging software with which I made something like this

there is no image reflection there but you can easily add one

It's pretty basic though and being replaced by the substance suite (which you have to pay for separately)

You'll need to have illustrator though as a way to export .obj (or use another software to model and export) as Dimension doesn't do modelling as such

but again, illustrator does that very well

I would suggest converting the text to pixels Type>rasterise type layer and then blur Filter>blur>gaussian blur, and when it's done just lower the opacity a bit (say 95%) and change the blending mode from normal to multiply so the test seems "tprinted in the paper)

Now, I won't lie, it reads very much like you are trying to forge a document there (and the DM thing sems to reinforce that opinion)

so I would say if that's the case, don't. Because first of all, you are very likely to be caught, since those things can be very well done and still be very obvious !

Hey guys, I very recently learned some very basic photoshop for the sole purpose of editing AI generated images into movie posters as a gift idea for some friends. After some editing and upscaling, I'm having trouble making the eyes look less wonky in the full resolution versions. Any recommendations? When zoomed out, they don't look that bad but zoomed in you can see how wonky it is. The PNG is 4096 x 5120 and will be printing on posters that are 16in x 20in, would the eyes be noticeable if I just left them as it is?

you could try re-GenFill the eyes or use another source to composite them. Your upscaling isn't great but it should look acceptable when printed. Alternatively, as the main problem is the shape and color consistency, you could simply use liquifying to even the circular shapes of eyes and regular painting tools to fix the colors

ctrl+shift+J after you make your selection. going to the file menu and selecting cut isn't how you cut something from a layer. also, if you're in premiere and select cut from the file menu, it won't split your video at the playhead either.

The thing is, you need to learn Photoshop basics, and then you need to learn to draw. Give Photoshop to someone who also knows how to draw and the learning curve should be a couple of days. But of course the opposite isn't true! I've been playing with Photoshop for moran 20 years and still don't know how to draw 😅
If you want a good starting point, you need to follow people who can draw, but happen to show you on Photoshop (or Fresco, it's a very similar experience on a desktop)

There are lots of them. Something that has to be said (from experience) is that the free ones most of the times are not very good. Why: they are - most of the times - looking very 3D as opposite as looking like real photos.
I used to use lots of mock-ups for my clients and at some point it was a choice of learning how to work real photos so they're mock ups, or invest in better - paid for - mock ups

A quick method would probably be using Image > Posterize...

Copy the original layer. Posterize and then adjust the Opacity of the Posterized layer to dial back the effect.

I think XD is more a tool for designers to build website stuff, whereas dreamweaver is more focused on the back end code writing type of stuff.

I'm not into web design so this isn't my department. but adobe used to have muse, and as a graphic designer, that felt like the most familiar comfortable software for doing web design for me. you would design everything and it'd take care of all the code junk. Whereas dreamweaver is all about writing the code. It's FOR code writers.

so with all that said, again from what I understand. I believe that XD is the successor to muse.

@obsidian lodge Sorry I don't know any alternatives. I know of some proper photo retouching software that aren't Adobe and I won't mention them here, but none of them have a generative fill inside of them. It requires a big company, with big money to run that kind of things (maybe sad, but true)
You can have firefly for free (FREE 1000%) but not photoshop. With firefly you can generate images, and all you need is an Adobe subscription, even a free one.
You won't get many creadits with the free sub, but the credits are just speeding the process, if you're willing to wait a bit, then all good.
