#

@young karma cool texture, Andreea! Loved how the dark blue tones contrast really well against the colors from the front! Great job!

#

This work out great @normal sapphire! Loved how the warp, the texture and the colors, and how they create a very nice context to your cover. Keep creating!

#

@north trout nice job adding some Photoshop icons on the cover. If you want, you might try to add some texture to the background, just to create some depth to the image, just an idea 😉 Well done!

#

@last lark loved the colors! My only suggestion would be to brighten the Daily creative challenge text just a bit, so it can have more contrast, separating itself from the background. Nicely done!

#

Don't worry @astral hedge this is a safe space 💙 Great job on the colors, my only point of feedback would be to increase the spacing between the words, so they can have more readability. This is a great start, keep going!

#

Loved the warping of the text on the object @delicate flint! Nice job!

#

@gloomy dawn this turned out great! Loved the way that you played with the text! The texture and the colors are looking great as well!

#

@eternal mica I think it was Jesus that did the Fancy Text

coral stone
#

@tacit summit very creative use of the plants on the text from the background, it looks super cool!

young karma
#

@young karma Really great use of graphic shapes in this one! Really nice balance of values and shapes as well. Great design!
@bleak fossil Thank you

coral stone
#

@young karma the glow of the middle creates a very effective focal point to the image, I also like that even though the glow is a lighter tone, you were able to preserve the contrast of the text from the front. Great job!

thorn geyser
#

@eternal mica @hasty abyss I think that Fancy Text tutorial was by Jesus Ramirez. That one should be in the set of challenges from 11 May to 22 May. I did consider trying a pattern, but thought it might be too tricky to align it properly for text!

coral stone
#

@south adder I agree with Ioan, the narative is great! I also like how you added some splatters to make it look like there's some snow on the surface. Nicely done!

#

@worn yew You achieved a great balance on the cover. The gradient and texture on the background are looking great! I also like how the effects that you applied to the text. Great job!

eternal mica
#

@buoyant nova @hasty abyss You are right. My apologies to Jesus.

@thorn geyser How about if you made a layer of the text as Jesus suggested, made that sheet a SO, then just rotated the layer to get your effect? Would that have worked?

@bleak fossil Thank you for your comments. Hope this one looks much better. The background is the original background of the photo.

PS didn't like this. No matter how many times I changed the font, size, color, When I went to add more text, it would jump back to the first T layer with all of its settings! Had to dup/delete T layer, restart PS and add rest of Text.

@viral walrus I like this. My one suggestion would be to remove the white vertical lines. Maybe you have the text safe layer turned on. If you have I did the same thing.

viral walrus
#

I did. Can one replace the image or must you load a new one?

eternal mica
#

@viral walrus 1. eliminate the white box 2. Enhance the red text to make it more prominent, either in size, brightness, effect or all 3.

I like my choice of colors, but I can't place what I think about the chosen texture on background text. Would it be better off without it or maybe in lower opacity ?

#

@hollow yarrow Your cover image is really cool looking!

coral stone
#

@hollow yarrow great job! I loved the colors and the effects of the text! I also like how you played with scale and opacity on the bacgkround elements. 💯

#

@young karma super cool improvement, Lori! The 3D effect gives a nice sense of depth to your composition. The flipped text on top is looking very nice as well, I like how you kept the contrast against the lighter tones!

@plain sable umm I'd have to look it up but something like calidous and rotunde? I have so many purchased fonts that I don't install them, I just use a font viewer. that lets open programs use them as if they are installed without causing trouble from having too many. But the font viewer needs them in groups of around 200 or it bogs down on me.

charred imp
#

@charred imp Great dramatic contrast in this design! Really makes the title pop and the way you created a very large background text pattern almost gives it a somewhat abstract graphic look. Really nice balance between these elements, I like it!
@bleak fossil thank you for the nice feedback!

#

@charred imp Is the "y" in your text normally that way in that font or did you flip the letter? What font did you use?
@eternal mica hi! i didn't flip the letter at all - the font i used was 'Hatch Light' for the foreground, and 'Hatch Light Italic' for the background. definitely a different look for that letter...

it's an adobe font btw - it's super exciting to have access to endless amounts of typefaces, and to be able to install/activate them so easily

My mood board went for neon. Don't actually know why, but now I feel inspired to plan for a neon party. I miss my friends so bad so that may be a good idea for when covid is over.

Q: Should I gone for black background instead of white? I kind of like the contrast, but it maybe would be more whole with a darker background

@small ibex select your frame on the layers panel and look at the properties panel if it has a stroke. If there is, you can remove it by choosing 0 as the amount or clicking on the color and choose the white rectangle with the diagonal red line.

#

@modern halo looking great, Willi, loved how you added the photos and some elements that has some memories mood. Well done!

#

Very nice @sharp spindle! Really like how the blured text on the background creates some depth to the image. My only suggestion would be to darken it a bit, so the front text will be able to pop a little more. You can easily do this by playing with the opacity. Nicely done!

#

@cold oyster this turned out awesome! Another great work! Loved the hexagons and how they seem to interact with each other. Great job on customizing the font of the left bottom as well.

#

@sacred field I think so haha! Very nice job on this one, Marc. My only suggestion would be to adjust the position or the scale of the right top part, it seems that the frame is not completely filled. Well done!

#

Nice job @silk hatch! My only suggestion would be to darken the background just a bit so the "Days" text can appear more. You can also adjust that by playing with the position of the image on the frame.Good job 🙂

Great job on both @steel ore 😄 I like the gold effect of the first version and how metallic the text looks. At the same time, the colorful one looks really nice, the way you managed the colors of the text made it look very interesting. I guess I can't decide 😂

@cedar sapphire Loved the image choices, Jennifer! Also the color of the background works really well to the mood. I wonder if you could apply a stroke on the circle of the hands, just to separate it from the other image. You can use the background color for it so you won't lose the consistency 😉

#

@thin spade great job with the fonts, I loved how they match the contexts of your moodboards. I agree with @young karma this would make an awesome postcard, especially the Niagra Falls.

#

@blissful moon very nice moodboard! Just a suggestion, you can choose a bright tone from the images and apply it to the text. This will make it look even more consistent and have more contrast against the dark background. 🙂

@sacred field checking out your piece from this afternoon now - you did an AWESOME job choosing different perspectives and zoom levels for your images! i love the overhead shot of the plants compared to the horizontal landscapes.. and the up-from-below view of those trees. Keep it up!

exotic slate
sterile bane
#

@unreal badge did you take these photos? this feels like a photo journal - very nice. I think the photo in the circle (top left) could play a little more with value. right now it starts to blend together. maybe you could substitute it for a shot that has a more distinct focal point? you could swap the one that you have for the shot below it & use the horned animal as the focal point 🙂

#

@sharp spruce tres bien! the blue behind the letters feels a little out of place because it's a rectangle inside of a circle. maybe you could try making a circle out of the blue instead of the rectangle? hope that helps! merci!

#

@sturdy vault Yay, you made your own template! I really dig how you mixed illustration with photography. My only feedback is that the grey behind the van feels like it decreases the contrast for that image. you could try white or another light and saturated color.. a soft yellow, maybe? similar to the tan in the pattern at the bottom. Hope that helps!

#

@exotic slate great question! one way that designers use moodboards is to present to clients. they will include imagery that led them to their design decisions. When I worked as an in-house designer at a clothing company, we would made HUGE moodboards (like, 10x30 feet!) that would help to guide our designs for the season. You can also just use it as a visual version of a journal. Hope that helps!

@floral frigate great job making your own template! i love the layered look. even though the SEASONS text is light, it works well over the imagery because the imagery has such dense visual texture.

@tame jacinth I feel like you really put a lot of effort into deciding what images to use! Great job. Did you create the illustrations in the circles? Very nice.

#

@jade swift You did! Great job. I totally respect wanting to understand the process before trying to tell a story. That's a great way to learn!

@vague swift let me guess... orange was your theme? ha! very nice. i like the natural subject matter (flora, landscapes, light). I feel like the little girl in the top left is kind of out of place - maybe you could use her for another project? thanks for posting!
@sterile tinsel ah, it looks like you turned your moodboard into some marketing! very smart. I like how you cropped the figure into the circle to focus on the product. however, i usually try to avoid cropping eyes out of photos unless it's for a specific design reason. keep up the great work!

@sterile bane thanks yes these are from my happy place. I will play with the order a bit more. The one in the circle is a picture of a baby white rhino which is why I love it. But I see what you are saying. Thanks for the feedback!

@sterile bane> @exotic slate great question! one way that designers use moodboards is to present to clients. they will include imagery that led them to their design decisions. When I worked as an in-house designer at a clothing company, we would made HUGE moodboards (like, 10x30 feet!) that would help to guide our designs for the season. You can also just use it as a visual version of a journal. Hope that helps!

@raw quest I'm really liking those colors too! Really nice softness to them that lets the title text shine. I actually think the texture looks quite nice as it is. It adds a nice element to the design without being overpowering. The drop shadow type of effect on the title text adds some great contrast and boldness too!

#

@viral walrus The more you do the better trained your eye gets for sure. This is looking really cool! The color combination along with the warp effect on the title text gives it an almost retro spooky look, like Scooby Doo or the Twilight Zone or something, hah. I think this second design is reading better in terms of contrast compared to the first. Nice work!

#

@young karma Very nice! I think they're both looking quite nice depending on the feel you're going for. The first one looks more neutral, but this one almost makes me think of summer or the pool. Both work quite well!

#

@primal fulcrum Ah, that's bizarre. Was this after an update or anything? This is looking really cool by the way! Really like the illustrated look on the middle text, very cool effect. Definitely gives an interesting feel/theme to the whole design.

#

@velvet kelp Really interesting! I think due to the font and colors this one has a more elegant/fancy feel to it. Like it might be used in an advertisement of a high end brand of some kind. I think the title text is reading quite nicely against the darker, more subdued background. Nice work!

#

@autumn granite Very cool! Definitely getting a cool sense of the mood and look of it with this color palette. Nice work!

#

@haughty cape Really nice cohesive look with these images! Definitely gives a good sense of the mood through the lighting and feel of everything. Really loving the bright upbeat look to this with little pops of color!

#

@winter tinsel Really nice color contrast between the text and background bird! The text effect came out nicely as well, looks good 👍

#

@vocal cairn Even without a specific theme there seems to be a nice cohesiveness with the colors and lighting. Nice consistent mood between all these images!

#

@halcyon trail This looks great! Really awesome balance of colors and textures. This moodboard really gives a solid idea of what feeling you're going for. Very nice!

#

@vocal drift Really interesting how you used the background to emphasize the dominant orange color of this! I like how you're using the blue as an intense contrasting accent color. Nice sense of lighting and color in these 👍

#

@gritty violet Very cool, I like the consistent lighting/colors in these! I see a decent amount of redundancy in this one with all the images of the smiling mouth. It might be a good opportunity to add in some other images, and possibly even some with some more green to push that purple/green color scheme I assume you're going for due to the green text in the lower corner. Really liking this theme!

#

@wicked orchid Looking good! I wonder if one more warmer image to really push that warm summer vibe might help balance out all the cool blues in this moodboard. Really liking the softness in some of these images!

#

@brisk flower These images are fitting together nicely! The green background really helps push that nature/forest feeling of the other images. I wonder if a subtle green/yellow green gradient across the background could be a nice look to give it a bit more depth? Just a thought, nice work!

#

@silk socket Really great lighting and colors in this one! Definitely communicates that club feeling and mood. Really liking the sort of neon coloration to a lot of these. Looking good!

#

@forest aspen Really cool! I like the sort of subdued look to the color of the skies! Really awesome that you used your own images too. I really like the bold pop of color to the flower, though it might be nice to see that somewhere else in the board, maybe something just small and subtle. Just an idea to tie it all together. Good job 😄

#

@tardy ridge Loving the warm glows and orange tones in this one! The subtle neutral tones in a lot of these give it a nice balance too. The blue image gives it a nice contrast though it might be nice to see the cooler blue tone repeated once more somewhere else to provide a nice overall balance. Great work!

#

@icy heart Really interesting focus on textures in this one! I like the balance between the warm and cool tones as well. Really nice overall softness to these colors and images. Looks good!

#

@fluid wharf Great theme for this Egyptian moodboard! I like how you kept a strong theme while still getting a really nice balance of warm and cool tones. Really nice blue/orange balance throughout this whole image!

#

@sterile tinsel Very cool texture on the background text! I really like the simple color scheme on this as well. I wonder if darkening down the background eeeeever so slightly and scaling up the title text might give it a stronger overall read? Though that's really just personal preference. Nice job!

#

@median grove I'm liking the variety of images in this mood board, yet they still fit together nicely and have a consistent feel to them. The pop of warm yellows/oranges in the clouds add a nice balance to the design!

#

@amber carbon Very cool! The pop of red/yellow in this is a nice contrast to the cool blues. Liking the theme in this one too, nicely done!

#

@stable ravine Great idea for a theme! Really loving the bold colors of the fabric on the left, and some of the more muted colors of the city images give it a nice balance. Great mood board, it has a really nice cohesive look to it. 👍

#

@north ridge These are great, both mood boards have a nice consistent feel to them! I really like the contrast between the two with one being a bit more muted and calm with the colors while the other one has more bold orange and blue tones. Really nice work!

#

@coarse juniper Very nice, there's a really calm and soft feeling with the more muted colors and the orange gives it a nice accented pop of color. Looks good!

#

@young karma Ooh nice, I don't think I've seen many with a really dominant lavender type color scheme, very nice! The addition of the white gives it a nice balance and really pushes that wedding look and feel. I like the little pops of yellow that contrast the purple too, very nice!

#

@valid heron Hah, I like the addition of the text on this one, really nice balance of images as well! If you wanted to push that worn postcard look I think adding a subtle paper texture with a few creases and maybe even a slight sepia photo filter to make the colors look less bold and more aged might help. You could adjust the opacity to be as subtle or strong as you like. There seems to be a nice balance of colors in this design, the accented red and orange tones contrast the cool blues nicely. Well done 😄

#

@edgy fox Hah, love the theme to this one! Loving all the puppy photos. This is totally just personal preference but it could be really cool to push the mood of this board by including images that add some environment and colors. Maybe photography of dogs outside at the park, at the beach during sunset, or whatever mood/feel you want to communicate. Might balance out the more neutral studio images a bit. Nicely done!

#

@heavy ruin The Day 1 cover is looking really nice! I love the texture on the background text, and while it's a fairly dramatic texture the dark value of the background keeps it from being overpowering. Really great contrast with the title text 👍

#

@tribal jacinth That's great! The bold red really adds a great accent color and helps push that dangerous dystopian feeling. Really loving all the neon colors too, the whole design has a great cohesiveness to it!

#

@final pike Definitely! I think you got a really nice balance between bold and soft colors as well as warm and cool tones. The lighting has a nice cohesiveness to it as well. The green almost seems out of place but I think it makes for a really great yet subtle accent color. Loving the mood and feel of this mood board, nice work!

#

@forest pelican You should be able to edit the frames or make your own. This is really cool, I like the graphic layout of the images here! The arrangement of the text is really interesting too. I feel like the portrait could perhaps better contrast with the background, current both seem to be a very similar level of brightness. Perhaps adjusting the portrait to be even lighter with a levels adjustment and the background a bit darker might separate the two a bit more? Even a subtle darker gradient for that background could look good. Nice work with this design!

#

Nice moodboard @viral walrus the wildlife theme is very interesting. My only suggestion would be to adjust this empty part of the middle left frame, you can easily do this by increasing the scale the image inside the frame.

#

Hi @young karma the moodboard is looking very nice. The text is legible, but if you want to increase its legibility you might position its drop shadow (the text behind it closer to the one in the front) and darken a bit the image that is filling it the main text, just some ideas 😉

#

Me too @civic lily haha! The moodboard is looking very balanced. I like the connections of the images from the left part. Just a personal preference, you might reduce the bevel and emboss size just a bit, so the text won't have a strong effect, matching even more the zen feel of your moodboard.

#

@south adder Very cool! I've always wanted to visit but haven't yet, it's probably at the top of my list. The lighting and color palette is looking good! There seems to be a nice cohesiveness to it. #

@young karma Great cohesive sense of lighting in this mood board! Really liking those darker blue tones with some of the lighter tan areas. Really great feel to this one!

#

@thick ledge Really digging the sort of techy looking font style of this one. I like the lean of the text as well, adds some nice interest. Great contrast of the title text against the lighter background, the background still has a lot of interest but without being overpowering. Looks good!

#

@zinc river Really cool style to this one! The bold colors really give it a recognizable and unique look. Nice job with the lettering styles. I like the subtle texture of the background too!

#

@autumn granite Really interesting style with the textures on the text in this one, very cool! The B currently has a lot of contrast due to the color difference, but I wonder if brightening up the M and/or darkening the background down a touch might help the M getting a bit more contrast and make the text pop even more. Just a thought, good job!

#

@buoyant bear Ooh, loving the colors here! The white tones and subtle blues really do a nice job of balancing out the bold reds. Definitely communicates a strong mood. Nice work!

@gritty violet Very cool, I really like the more subdued colors with the background concrete texture. Really makes that effect more realistic. Nice work with the overlapping shapes and blend modes too 👍

#

@ocean oar Hah, really cool idea. Makes for an interesting secondary read. The two Ls have a nice balance in terms of contrast with the bigger one being much more faint. Looking good!

#

@rocky reef Liking how these two letters overlap, really nice balance between the two! That texture adds a lot of interest too. Well done!

#

@slim plume Loving that marble texture! It's fairly subtle but adds a lot of interest and feel to the letters. Great softness to this whole design 😄

#

@somber crow Looking good Joseph! The text effects came out really nicely. The title text is reading very well on the background too, I think that drop shadow helps add a nice element of separation and contrast. Nice work!

Hey everyone! I'm impressed with all the fantastic works you are doing! 💯

#

Beautiful combinations of fonts @grizzled sonnet, the circles on the letter T are a very special touch for the composition! I really like how you blended the color and the background, my only suggestion would be to align the Carpe Diem text to the middle of the image, right now it looks a little to the left, this will help your image look even more balanced. Great job, Thelma!

#

@tardy heart very nice perspective work, Elys! I also like how the colors that you chose for the background and the large scale text doesn’t compete with the color from the Pink Pepper Design, creating a nice contrast look to your cover. Nice texture as well! Just saw your moodboard, lovely color palette!

#

@sturdy vault! I really like the palette that you chose for the dark version. Also, the lighter one looks awesome, I like the subtle texture and vibrant colors you chose for it. My only nitpick is that the text seems to be a little bit to the left, you might center it just to enhance the balanced look of the composition. You did an awesome job!

@last lark this is looking very nice. Your font choice for the K has a nice playful look, and I like that you used an image as a fill for the K. I wonder if you could add some subtle texture just to create even more depth to your image, this is just a personal option 😉 Good job!

#

Haha okay @sacred field 😂 You did an amazing job with the textures, I also like what you did to the letter A giving it a nice space on the M areas, how did you do that? The tree connected to the A’s spur is a great detail that makes a total difference. Impressive work, Marc!

#

Loved the vintage style of your work @forest aspen! The texture and the colors for the letters are looking great as well! I also like that you chose a serif font for the text on the bottom. Great job, Marie!

This Is fancy @dry mortar! The dark tones contrast really well against the yellow of the letter C. My suggestions would be to increase a little bit the size of the text from the bottom so it will be able to appear more on the image. You can also try to position the C a little more to the left and even play with some overlaps with the letter I, just to see how it looks, this is just personal preference, you made an amazing job!

#

Beautiful work @short mica! Really like how you played with a lighter color on the side of the letters, it creates a very interesting effect. Nicely done!

#

@primal fulcrum sorry you had problems 😦 Your moodboard is looking super cool, I like how you played with the Front Yard text. My only point of feedback is an optional one, I’d try to place the deer from the bottom right in an area where it could appear more, like the top frames. Right now, the middle frame is cutting some parts of its body. This will enhance the visual interest that your moodboard already have 🙂 Great job Sig!

#

@young karma this tuned out amazing! The minimalistic look of your monogram is looking awesome, the extended K creates a nice interaction with the S, also, the script font for architecture enhances that look, I loved how you aligned between the width of the letter K. Fantastic work!

#

@eternal mica very nice Ted! I like how the wall acts like a frame for the letters and how they have kind of a neon look. If you want, you might give the darker areas around it a little bit more of blue. For that, you can create a Color Balance layer and choose Shadows under Tone and add a little bit more of cyan and blue. This adjustment tends to darken even more the area, so to avoid that just put the blend mode of this adjustment layer in Color.

#

Another cool work @hot thicket! I like how the texture and the subtle shadow make the letters pop from the background. Also, the color and texture of the background feels very nice with the context that the letters have created. Great job, John!

#

@hollow yarrow I can’t get enough of your works, Franck! I absolutely loved the classic style of your monogram. The subtle shadows of the letters gives an engraving effect that matches really well to the composition. Also, the frame and the vignette created by the dark tones from the edges act as an amazing focal point. Fantaaastic job! (Update: the low contrast one is my favorite haha)

#

That’s a very interesting effect @young karma! I like how the letters interact with each other and the branches as well. Nice job!

#

@charred imp super cool job, the details of the lines on the letter M on the first version is looking great! I wonder if you could apply some textures on the letter R as well, just to see how it looks. About your second version IMO it reads very well, I like the interactions you made with the letter R and how the M looks like an optical illusion which is a great effect. Well done!

@coral stone Thanks, Valdair! I rasterized the M & A. To cut the A into the M, I clicked the icon in layers pallet to select the A then adjusted the selection by adding 10 or 20 px’s. @short mica unfortunately no 😦 just the old friend Ctrl+Z. If you want to replicate the effect that you applied after merging the letters you can save what you have as a copy (save as option) and then start undoing. When you get to the point where the letters aren't merged you can open the copy that you saved or the first file (Ps might interpretate that the copy is your current document after saving it) and start the adjustments again. This will not solve the problem but it will save you some time 😉

#

@small ibex I like how the black background makes the color tones of the letters pop. Your font choice for the O and D was great, I loved the long shadow effect on it and the texture you applied. Also, the flowers really help to establish a focal point straight to the letters of the center. Great job!

#

@vocal drift very nice work! Just some ideas: You might try to darken the background juuuust a bit and maybe choose a brighter tone for the letters especially for the B in case it loses contrast. Another thing that you can try is adding some blur to the background, this might help to increase the depth to your image. Again, just some ideas you can try to see how it looks 😉

#

@shadow mural I like how you played with scale on the letter T. About your question, one option step would be to add some subtle texture to the background just to see how it looks, and if you want the letters pop a little more, you can add a subtle drop shadow on them as well. This will give more depth to your composition. Great job, Harvey!

#

@wicked orchid The colors on this are looking really nice! The F and M have a really nice balance to them. Really liking the background texture too, just the right amount of contrast 👍

#

@sterile berry Really cool idea with the images within the text. The arrangement of the stacked letters is a really interesting effect too. Very cool!

#

@edgy fox Really interesting sort of hand illustrated look and texture you got to each letter as well as the background. Very nice work with these effects. I sort of wonder if warming up the background overall (maybe a warming photo filter?) could add a nice element of contrast to this and give it a good balance? Though that's just up to personal preference. Looking good!

#

@tropic haven Digging the textures on this one! Really nice work with the patterning on the Z as well. I wonder if adding a slight gradient to darken the bottom of the background and fade away towards the top might help the yellow text and most of the Z get even more contrast against the background? Since currently the text and background are a somewhat similar value. Not sure how it would look exactly, but just a thought. Looks good!

#

@winter tinsel The text effects here are looking really solid! Both the style of each letter and the texture within it. I kind of wonder if a subtle gradient on the background might add a nice element of dimension? Either way, solid work!

#

@spiral shadow Great style, really liking the S especially! I think the more simplified colors and texture definitely give it more of a professional feel, but I don't think it's too boring. Perhaps darkening down the S just a tiny bit might give the whole image a bit more contrast? I like it!

#

@zinc river The text styles are looking really nice! I like the really faded image in the background too. Creates an interesting texture but is still really subtle. 👍

#

@cedar sapphire Love the light and soft feel to this design! The more pastel colors work really well together. This is definitely a minor nitpick, but currently the vertical part of the two letters are so close to each other they're almost creating a tangent. Perhaps separating them just a couple notches might create a more balanced look? Great texture on these too!

@vocal drift Not lame at all! That's definitely what these challenges are great for. Each time you can pick up a new technique or two and that definitely adds up over the course of the 2 weeks. It's cool to see one of these designs with a photo in the background. I think the smooth edges of the text and the fact that you didn't add any texture to it make it contrast nicely with the much more detailed background. Nice work 😄

#

@grave apex I like the glyph on the K in this design, adds a really nice element of interest! The L being a pink accent color works well to balance it out with the larger and more intricate K. Texture looks good as well!

#

@onyx idol Awesome, welcome on in! Glad you could join us. Really liking the texture in the background! The overlap and blending mode is looking really nice too. Really cool bold look to this design, well done 😄

#

@silk hatch Looks good Mark! I like the style of this font, really bold and interesting. The blending mode and texture is looking good as well 👍

#

@upper crag I'm liking the softness to the color and tones of this design! The swooping lines of the text work really well with the overlapping letters and help add to that elegant feel. The texture is a nice touch as well!

#

@tropic knoll Really liking the shapes created by the text in this one CK! I wonder if shifting the value or hue of the smaller text, or even giving it a really subtle drop shadow could be a nice way of separating them from the big C a bit. Really nice contrast!

#

@normal sapphire Very cool! I like how much you simplified the text into sort of abstract shapes. Works really well as both a graphic and text. The colors give me an almost neon/synthwave vibe. Looks great!

#

@chilly hawk Really great idea! Loving what you did with the perspective and dimension in this one. I like how you kept the background more muted in terms of colors and values so the bold title text really shines. Great job with these text effects!

#

@steel ore Oooh, really great effect with the metal text! Really nice work with the masking, definitely gives this a nice sense of dimension, and the V looks really convincingly like metal wire. It might be nice to brighten the E up a bit to better match the lighting of the V and the S and give it a bit more contrast against the background. Really cool idea!
(side note, for the neon text I think getting a bit of a glow effect can be key. I often like Screen or Color Dodge blend modes for this, very cool effect!)

#

@coarse juniper Great soft and elegant feel to this one with the font choice and colors! I really like the addition of the blue, but I wonder if desaturating it juuust a tiny bit might help make it a bit more neutral looking like the other letters. Though it really depends on what you're going for. Really liking that background texture!

The typefaces I used were Ambroise, Barrio, and Gilbert color (all adobe fonts)
Gilbert color comes already in certain colors. It is very fun especially in combination with transparency and blending modes.
In the top version I messed up the layers with the texture somehow and it wouldn't show only on the letters, although everything looked the same in layers panel. So I did it without texture which I also like.

Sorry for the late entry from yesterday! I ended up stuck at work all day and I'm already several hours behind yall since I'm in Japan haha I'll be submitting my monogram soon

#

Sorry, I realized I kept the background in the left two images but not the right ones, so I made it more consistent in the close ups.

How did you modify the print in yours @barren ice ? Its cool that it can look like your writing.

barren ice
#

@young karma I converted the text layer into a smart object and then used warp to adjust. Converted it back to layers then the brush tool to round some of the hard corners like on the lower bend of the N. I think ! I'm not good at remembering how I do some of this stuff.!!

@sturdy briar I prefer it to the first one, tho that one was also good. I am really no expert but... (lol) did you try fiddling wth the blend modes for the two letters to see what happens... might get a cool effect. Just a suggestion, nothing actually wrong with it as it is! 👍

Thanks @sterile bane , I did not know about the fonts to download, now I am very happy hahaha, I used a bronze base for my monogram, that's why that green background color, I like the vintage tone it gives it.💁‍♀️

@young karma I like it.. Nice typeface and i like that I have to make a bit of an effort to read the faded text at the bottom. I think it can draw the reader in.

thanks @young karma, the faded text ; not easy to set up ... I had a lot of fun.

@young karma wow that’s a super cool theme, Ioan! Great improvement. I like that you explored the out of bounds effect, especially on Yoda. The stars on the background also add a nice context to the moodboard. My only suggestions are that you can adjust Yoda’s opacity to 100%, it looks a little transparent, also you might scale the Millennium Falcon up just a bit to fill the circular frame. It was totally worth the wait, Ioan. Great job!

thanks @coral stone for looking it up - indeed was worth following your advice to clear my mind (thought it was already empty!). I'll look at your suggestions - you're never far off the mark. I appreciate your time!

Hey, @young karma it is looking very nice! I like your attention to the details like the purple circle that makes the G looks like a bird, that’s a great effect, especially when you’re designing logos for brands. The texture on the background is a nice complementary context to the monogram especially because its tones match really well the green ones of the letters. I also like that the font of Let’s share together doesn’t compete with the monogram. Excellent job!

young karma
#

thank you very much @coral stone . I found it really nice to work on letters and transform them like an animal. And indeed a little bird side that has emerged over time.

Very nice cover @sudden quiver! I like the low saturated cyan of the main text, it creates a nice balance and contrast when compared to the dark blue and the green image text from the background. Great job!

#

Beautiful work @viral walrus! My only suggestion would be to reduce the opacity (kind of like 90%-95%) of the text and/or play with some blend modes, just to let the background appears through the text, creating a blending effect. Just a thought. Well done!

#

Wow @young karma this is looking great! I like how the colors are matching, and the overlap between the letters is a nice touch for it enhancing the premium/fancy look of it! Great job!

#

Great job with the overlaps @ruby panther. The subtle shadow adds a super cool depth to the monogram, I like how sharp it is, kind of giving a 3D look to the letters. Nicely done!

#

@young karma I loved your moodboard and the monogram. I like how you blended the letters and played with the A’s spur creating a very interesting effect to it. Well done!

#

Very nice monogram @velvet kelp! I like how the texture is blending with the letters especially on the R and A. Just a personal thought, since the Y is darker than the other letters you might play a little bit more with its color just to see how it goes, maybe a shade of blue, or even brighting the background texture, or creating a vignette… just some ideas, it’s already looking pretty cool! 😉

Hi @twilit granite beautiful work! I like how the script font has that empty spaces that makes a great effect, especially with the texture of the background

#

No problem @edgy pagoda 😉 Very nice cover, how did you made the distortions on the letters O, S and T? It's a great touch for the cover 💯

#

Great combinations on the effects @soft arch! The grain, the warm tones and the birds are a great elements to your image! I also like the texture you applied to the letters. Nicely done!

#

Wowww this turned out great @unborn prism! I like the vignette effect that the gradient created on the image. Also the monogram with low opacity on the background is very cohesive. Great job!

edgy pagoda
#

Thank you so much 🙂 @coral stone . For that effect , I used the stroke layer style on the text then decreased the fill to zero and finally masked the front text from it .

@verbal dirge cool font choice. What font did you use for the D?

#

@young karma I think the embossed lettering in the first mage is too small and too difficult to read. Good idea, not so good in execution. Maybe make it larger? give it a darker color? An outline?

coral stone
#

Loved how you played with the B&W and some colorful shapes on the moodboard @sturdy briar. Also the wind/glitch effect on your cover is great, I loved how it created some kind of a speed motion on the text in perspective 💯

@soft arch that's the beauty of it. Sometimes I take pictures of walls, grass, roads even mud... just to create some texture on my works. 😍

#

@eternal mica Thanks for your thoughts - I do see what you mean. I did experiment with a lighting effect from above - that messes with all the overlay settings of course, but it did make the lettering stand out in a bright red! That being said, the lettering is of no real consequence, a splash of irony, perhaps. I will certainly re-look at it with your suggestions in mind.

@coral stone thanks for the feedback. I realized that I didn't match the ratio of the photos to the ratio I drew for the frames. I think if I were to redo it, I would take that into account and it would come out a bit better. Life in a town with deer is sure interesting! I probably should face her into the center also instead of facing to the outside. Personally, I think I'll stick with clipping masks unless mine starts working like everyone elses.
