@hidden flame hah I loved the green tones and the distortions on the head, super cool job!
I think about musicians ... (soupir ...). I miss the concerts ...
@coral stone Thank you for the feedback! Always welcomed.
Gave +1 Creative Carma to @coral stone
@tardy ridge Lovely work! The hat and the reflection are looking very nice, I also like how you matched the light source of both images. Nicely done!
Popeye inspired jumper
@young karma awesome work! The subtle Premiere interface is a great touch for the image hah. Loved how you player tihe the head's scale and the distortion of the arm. Well done!
@brisk flower the look of your work is super cool, loved how you managed the caricature effect on the people and how everyone is well placed creating a very nice balance. Great job!
@inland comet super cool job on the background! Did you use the Extrude effect? Looks great!
@buoyant nova The new blue tones on the water are looking very nice, I also like how you recovered some details on the rocks as well. My only suggestion would be to apply some blur on the boat, since the area where it is placed is a bit blurred, this will increase the realistic look of your composition! 😉
@young karma wow very impressive work! It looks like a promotional movie poster, great job!
@tired flame hah very nice job with the distortion of the mouth, I also like the B&W look of the whole image! 🙂
@heady adder great job on adding a graphic to the boat, it feels very realistic!
Okay, thanks @coral stone 🙂

@buoyant nova soooo cool 😉
Day 1! It was fun!
Thanks @young karma 😃

The current challenge! Go to dreamland!
Here's my original picture that I used for Day 2's challenge
And my caricature version 😄
Here is my work 😎
Challenge Day 2-Caricature, Tried to use my own photo, but Photoshop crashed, must have been too much for it. 😄 Seriously, still having to go through these videos like 1000 times to get it, but this one I actually made it through. Thanks Paul, you look awesome me thinks, and I am open to CC. Thanks!
This was really fun and amazing
@tulip root Mir gefällt, wie Sie einen 3D-Effekt erzielt und an den Rändern schön glänzend gemacht haben
@vocal drift in English please.
#✂challenges-feedback today's (yesterday's) lesson got a little weird!😂
Day-3! Dream Land?
Challenge 3 Summer Time
So much fun. I have a bunch of smudge brushes so I tried out a few on the top one. The 2 on top have different color profiles after they were done. The bottom one is a standard smudge with the text FX inner glow
I started with a picture of a sunset sky and then pixelated it.
Challenge #3 Smudge Tool Text
@coral stone thank you 😁, Im glad you like it ..
Gave +1 Creative Carma to @coral stone
@blazing quail Really fitting image for this one! The colors and effects are looking really cool! I wonder if a subtle drop shadow behind the text might give it a bit more pop? Nicely done!
@wanton depot Oh wow, love the texture and look of this one. The monochromatic color scheme works well due to that nice contrast between the graphics and the background. Great effect!
@loud rapids Hah, very nice, love that pose you got with the warp tool. The bendy leg pose kind of makes me think of the way cartoons are sometimes drawn running or prancing. The colors seem to match quite nicely! I think if you used a multiply layer on the bottom right side of the face just a touch to get a hint of that warm orange shadow the rest of the body has that could really push the effect even more. Though that's a small detail. Looks great!
@vocal drift Glad to hear it! Cool to see how this effect can be used in a more controlled graphic way too. Though it still has a touch of that hand drawn feel which is nice. Nice work!
@tulip root Very nice! Some really great contrast between the text and the background, it reads really well. I like how the shine gives it a slight metallic feel too. Good job with this effect!
@bleak fossil Thank you so much!!
Gave +1 Creative Carma to @bleak fossil
@hasty oracle That's great to hear! I think the more you do it the more natural the process becomes for sure. Looking really good! Nice work with the color grading and the warping effects. Super subtle, but I think brightening up Paul's face overall might help draw the eye a bit more to make it more of a focal point. Right now the highest contrast seems to be around the knees. Again, subtle, but might look good. Nicely done!
@onyx pumice I really like the graphic feel you got to this image! The separation between the portrait and the background looks nice and clean and makes for some great contrast. I like the sort of illustrated look the whole thing has too. Great work!
@deep mango Hah, very nice work with the warp effects in this one! I like how you changed the overall shape of the face too, looks good. My only nitpick is the edges of the hair look a bit rough, not sure if you used the refine edge tool for that but I often get pretty good results with it. Though the dark background behind the hair might be tricky. Nice work on this!
@primal fulcrum Really cool idea with the sunset image, looks good! I really like the painterly feel you got with the smudge brushes, really nice effects! I feel like the bottom text could have a bit more contrast with deeper shadows to help it read, but that might also just depend what background it's on. Love that horse image too XD Very cool!
@winter tinsel Really nice variety of effects with these different text styles! Cool to see it done with a more hard edged metallic look too. Nice work 😄
@tulip root i really like how you did a little of a 3D effect and i also liked your shininess on the edges of some of the letters
Thanks @bleak fossil 🙂 Yeah, I used the Refine Edge tool on my hair but I guess I need more practice with it

Challenge#3: Smudge Tool - Definitely going to play around with this technicque!
First time posting, super awesome to see everyone else's work!
@fickle marten wow that’s cool very psychedelic @dim brook dream land! Nice!
@tidal bloom Yours as well!
@dim brook I haven’t submitted one. But you must be from the future so I thank you for your comment on my yet to be competed work hehe
Gave +1 Creative Carma to @dim brook
Challenge #3 (Revised) I changed a few things suggested by @fierce valley and Shaun Ryken’s review. Hopefully it’s easier to read.
@winter tinsel thats such a cool SUCCESS! 👍🏻😂😂💪🏻 love it.
Catching up, Day 1 Challenge
Day 3, Using the Smudge tool to stroke text. 😐

@eternal mica Thanks for pointing that out! I was looking for the effect and missed the spelling! When I was in the printing business that happened! We were just watching the quality of the print and not what it said. 😜

😀 thx guys
I played a bit more with the Refine Edge tool on my hair @bleak fossil, I think it looks better now but let me know what you think 🙂
Applied today's lesson to my table tennis club logo. Think it might make a great shirt with a little more work.
Cool stuff to practice.
@bleak fossil Thanks for the encouragement, I so appreciate it, and the feedback. I will go in and try to brighten the face a bit. Wish me luck!

And go to Alice's Wonderland...
...shouldn't watch the stream before the DCC, too many ideas!
Stretched my brain on this process but fun and will find ways to apply it!
@dim brook Nice job contrasting the fonts, Ceci!
@fickle marten I agree with @tidal bloom that's a very cool psychedelic look! I like how you blended the text with some clouds. My only suggestion would be to increase the contrast between the background and the text, you can achieve that by darkening the background just a bit. It will make the colors of the text pop a little more! Super cool job.
That's a very creative use of the effect @winter tinsel, well done!
Cool lighting adjustments on the skull @elfin stream! The blending on the waterline looks very nice as well!
@prime temple wooww amazing job! I loved your attention to the details like the tattoos and the textures on the background, impressive and fantastic work!
Very nice job @hasty osprey! The subtle drop shadow of the wave in the background makes it have a nice amount of contrast against the gradient colors from the back. Well done!
@floral frigate beautiful work! I like how the brightness of the text's colors created a neon effect that works really great with the dark background!
@haughty cape these colors are amazing! Great job preserving the contrast between the text and the background, I also loved the flower illustration that you included.
@young karma super cool work! If you want you can play with some overlaps with the triangle and the circle. Also, I loved how you played with the word dudes how did you made it? Well done!
Lovely color palette @zealous halo! I like the metallic effect that the smudge tool created on your work!
@coral stone thank you!!
Gave +1 Creative Carma to @coral stone
@wet thistle loved the breaks of the syllables of the word! The way that they are around the Flamingo creates a very nice visual balance to the composition, well done!
@arctic rover the faded background creates a very nice contrast to the text. If you want you can apply a verrry subtle drop shadow on the illustration of the bottom left, it will make it pop a little more. Nicely done!
The dots on the Wonderland text turned out great @cold oyster! I also like the details that you added on the top and the bottom of the composition, good job!
@thorn geyser another great work! The thin stroke around the text is a nice touch for it, I also loved the way that you preserved the contrast against the background without losing the colorful look of it. Extraordinary work!
Very nice job @modern halo! My only suggestion would be to darken the background just a bit, so the text pop a little more 😉
Lovely colors @mild spruce! The clouds are a nice element that helps the focal point to be straight to the text. Well done!
@young karma beautiful work! the pixelated background worked great with the text, great job!
No, you're not @flint pecan! 😉 The melted look of the text creates a nice visual context to the effect and the word as well. Great job!
Well done! @sacred field! The vignette enhances the text's focal point very nicely!
That's great @queen dew! I hope you are enjoying the challenges as well! Great job on both versions, I like the colorful background and how you made some adjustments for the text to preserve the contrast on the #2, and the subtle background is looking super cool on the #1. Well done!
@eternal mica super cool job, Ted! My only point of feedback would be to adjust the contrast between the text and the background, so the text might be able to stand out more, I believe that by darkening the background, just a bit, you can achieve that. 😉
@jaunty nimbus wowww I loved how the effect looks like a neon! Amazing job!
@uneven vessel The colors and the stroke gives a nice sense of illustration, I also like the low tracking (space between the letters) you used, so the stroke could be able to "merge" each letter, especially on the word notice. Well done!
@worn yew fantastic work! I loved the colorful background and the effect on the text! Looks awesome 🙂
What a beautiful work @brisk flower! The frame on the edges makes it look like a romantic postcard, I also like the effect on the letters. Great job!
@coral stone Thank you! I really appreciate it!
Gave +1 Creative Carma to @coral stone
Beautiful effect @loud mist! I like how the letters have a texture on them, well done!
@eternal mica Thanks again, Ted! 👍
#3 Thank you
@coral stone Thank you MMV!! I realized the Smudge Text and BG colors were close to one another. I tried using a color lookup on BG but wasnt happy with the shadings of the candy. It became too unnatural when it was a different color. When I used a color overlay with low opacity, I wasnt happy with the dulled out BG layer. So in the end I left it as is. I'll keep playing with it.
Gave +1 Creative Carma to @coral stone
@coral stone thank you for the feedback 🙂
Gave +1 Creative Carma to @coral stone
Challenge 3 on smudge text
@coral stone I added a color lookup>soft warming look. Do you like it better?
Yes @eternal mica! The color lookup reduced the intensity of the colors a little bit which is very good 🙂
Day 3 Challenge
@next notch spooky! nice job exploring with today's technique - the drip effect in "nightmare" works very well. I think the text is so colorful that you probably don't need a detailed background - I wonder what a dark solid BG would look like compared to the gradient?
@coral stone 👏 round of applause for your awesome feedback!
Thank you so much @sterile bane, it means a lot 💙
Gave +1 Creative Carma to @sterile bane
@soft arch i'm digging the first design. I can really get a sense of the depth in the letters because of the lighter values vs. the darker ones. in the "love" design, there's more of a focus on the blended colors and less focus on realistic depth.. that's not a critique, just a comment 🙂 Keep posting awesome work!
ok. thank you @sterile bane . I will keep practising, because I do not like them too much, but now it is 2:20 am. Good night
Gave +1 Creative Carma to @sterile bane
@soft arch see you later!
Challenge 3. Smudge. I tried. The background is a gradient smudged. Dissolved heart. I created a Gold foil pattern for the text. This was quite the challenge. Smuding text? Practice and more practice for me. Thanks for the opportunity!
@coral stone Thanks for the feedback. Yes Ill place the flare as you said. Good idea.
Gave +1 Creative Carma to @coral stone
Jelly bean anyone. Unfortunately missing the black ones. I used the jelly beans as the smudge part.
I followed along with the video for the first one and then I made my own!
video follow along, cool effect for sure! thank you

challenge 3: sorry for sabotiging the painting though
@coral stone thx for the feedback, much appreciated. I grew up with oil paint, charcoal and pastels. No computers in those days. Now that I’m retired trying to catch up with new stuff like PS and AI. So yes, really enjoy doing these kind of challenges. Never stop learning. Stay fit, Stay safe, Play@home 👍
Gave +1 Creative Carma to @coral stone
@strong lake I started with a free template from Adobe "Vintage Photo Effects". I used the smudge tool for the notes, animals, the sun & the text (the smudge background was stone tile) all with different color layers clipped and different blending modes. The background image was a combo with capture of that image, then two filters on the photo, filter gallery poster edges + photo filter sepia...
@south pine It does have a bit of a witch vibe, maybe it's the robe and arch of the eye brows, hah. I bet even more so if the background was green. Though I think it might look nice to have the background a cooler more neutral color to contrast the figure? Even the original background color could provide some nice contrast, depending on the look you're going for of course. Nice work with these warp effects!
@wanton depot I really like the dramatic silhouetted feel you got with the skull and boat. Really gives them a strong visual impact. The skeletons are looking really natural in the scene too, well done!
@buoyant nova Hah, great image, the lighting and colors seem to match really nicely here! Really nice work with the proportion stretching and warp effects too. This is a total nitpick, but it
might look good to sharpen up the edge where the neck meets the shirt, to make it look a little more crisp, as if that's where the collar starts. Nice job!
@tropic knoll Really cool, I like the look you got for the smudged background and heart texture. Very nice use of color in this!
@soft arch Really clever use of the smudge tool on the "blood" design! I like that sort of dripping/smeared effect. The subtle gradient in the background is a nice touch too. Nice work on these effects!
@next notch Ooh, really interesting contrast between the two texts. Especially digging that colorful texture, really nice effect. The dripping effect of the "nightmare" text looks really nice too. Looking good!
@eternal mica Looking good Ted! Really nice unity in the colors on this one. My only thought is the text doesn't read super clearly over the lollipops. Maybe a subtle drop shadow on the text could help, or even blurring the background slightly to pull focus to the text? Just some thoughts. Nice work!
@young bridge Really cool dream-like colors in that background! Really gives it an interesting feel. The text has a really nice effect to it too, I like the sort of glossy look it has. I think some of the middle letters blend together a bit and don't read as well as they could. Though the darker tones on the D, and L really help they read more clearly. Well done!
@young karma Very nice! I like the clean graphic edges of the clouds along with the colorful smudging of the text and ropes. The contrast against the clean gradient works nicely as well. Almost makes me think of a start screen for a mobile game. Very cool!
@dim brook Really nice variety of smudge effects between the two words! I like the sort of glowing/transparent effect of the bottom one. Nice work!
@tame jacinth Really nice effects with all the different color combinations here! The graphic elements of the clouds are looking nice too. I wonder if a colored gradient (something maybe less saturated, or a contrasting value) might fit more in the background? Currently the gray almost looks kind of like gray stormy clouds against the bright colors, unless that's the effect you were going for. Just a thought. These gradients look good!
@young karma Haha, great idea! This came out great, nice nice job. Really great sense of form with these shapes too. The mockup image was an excellent touch, well done!
@low flint Really unique idea with this one! Interesting how subtle it is, almost like semi hidden message that you see on second glance. Cool effect!
@strong lake Great textures going on here! Nice separation between the brighter colors around the text and the darker background. Would be cool to see a white text version which might make for a brighter, more colorful feel, but that's completely personal preference. Very nice work!
@fickle garden I really like the more subdued clean look of this! Some great color contrast between the blueish background and orange colors, but the more netural background really lets the text and bottom shape stand out. The smudge effect is looking good!
Dream Land
@young karma super cool work! If you want you can play with some overlaps with the triangle and the circle. Also, I loved how you played with the word dudes how did you made it? Well done!
@coral stone Thankyou for the feedback. The word 'dudes' was in the font sidewalk with a multi coloured gradient overlay on the face of the type then bevelled and given a slight drop shadow.
Hi - had fun with this challenge. Thanks for the inspiration

@young karma wow wo lve it , how did u made the candy and didi u apply aply bevel to salashes ,, lve to now the proncess
@mild spruce -- hi, the candy piece is from PixelSquid and I recolored them to match the splashes with hue and saturation adjustment. I did apply a bevel and emboss to the splashes. For the splash parts, I just followed Paul Tani's directions.. made path, turned it to a selection, chose smudge tool set to all layers, made pattern layer visible, and on new blank layer began swirling with smudge tool. Image match to box was done with Vanishing Point under filters.
ok, reworked and added another stroke path with a pencil. It's a bit bright. I used a gradient map on it.
this is my attempt, I hope you like it 😋
Thank you @bleak fossil. I really enjoy these challenges. Most of this is pretty far over my head so I listen to the videos over and over. My goal is to create what you designers can in 15 minutes, too!. I wish you the best in all of your endeavors.

This is super creative @mighty linden! Loved how you played with the baloon and the perspective of the text!
@haughty gale I loved the how you added an image inside the skull, like a hidden world! Great job!
@ruby panther another super cool job! Loved the subtle colorful glow you applied to the text, it enhances the magical look of the composition, awesome job!
@potent finch very nice! I like the noisy drop shadow you applied to the text, it creates a nice contrast between it and the background image. 💯
hah the caricature effect turned out great @wide island! I loved the distortions of the hair and the eyes! Nicely done! And lovely color choice for the background on your day 3!
@barren ice I loved how you played with the text, like it is wired to the clouds, great job!
@trail field very nice job! I like the blur effect you apllied to the particles and how it creates a nice sense of depth to the image. The subtle background is looking nice as well! Well done!
Thank you for another super cool feedback! @coral stone 😆

Welcome @tiny spire! The new tones you applied on the image and the contrast adjustment on the boat are great! Can't wait to see your next works!
@hasty dove sorry to hear that. Try to see if your brush is on normal mode on the top bar, if the opacity and flow are set to a high value, and if black is your foreground color. Feel free to tag me on #❓ask-a-question if you need any help.
Nice approach to the challenge @jolly kite! The realistic drwaing look of your image is looking super cool!

Day 2: Did a few attempt with different photos. This one is by far my favourite one
Cloud service.. I had problems with figuring out how to reset the CC preferences before being able to use the smudge tool.. But I got the lettering done. I'm combining it with the flying island I did not have a chance to do last week. Its's a combined pictures of a church, a rock from a waterfall, and a water view. @brittle slate and @fierce valley thanks for teaching us all these new tricks !

Challenge 3// Happy Birthday to whoever's birthday it is!😄
@young karma LOL. you really did some plastic surgery! the liquifying on the hair is a cool touch.
@tired solstice love seeing the combo between multiple challenges! LMK if you're still having any trouble with your preferences. Looks like you got it figured out, though. Keep up the great work!
@inland kiln ha! Awesome composite. These characters feel like they really "belong" together because of the nice job you did matching lighting/hues. Great job!
@ocean pine I am LOVING those cloud-like shapes that form the border.
@fickle igloo great job! the blend in "birthday" feels more succuesful than "happy" because it stays saturated all the way through. the "happy" seems to introduce some grey and creates a kind of muddy look. Thanks for posting!
Gave +1 Creative Carma to @faint gull
Everyone did such a good job yesterday! Love your colors @ocean pine !
@strong lake re: Smudge. I like how you emphasized the text against your backdrop. Very pretty color coordination. It reminds me of the sprinkles in ice cream. Thanks for sharing.

@flint pecan how how are you so quick lol

@flint pecan try using curves
Yes, that's a good idea, I haven't think about that, I'll try next time
Hey gang, my attempt at todays challenge 🙂 happy friday!
@flint pecan you mean Crotle?

@vocal drift yea, that's a good name😂
sorry, I´m late. Not sure about the text location, what do U think?
I present to you - A Peaguin! 🤣 #✂challenges-feedback #📣creative-challenges #hybridanimal
I add more light but I dont know how to remove light
@flint pecan Paint over the light with a shadow color. Or use the burn method. Be sure to be on another layer so you can adjust.
If you can't get select and mask to work, first try unchecking the high quality preview. If you are using a Mac with an AMD Graphics card, you may need to use the legacy "Refine Edge" for soft edges, To use, in the Select Menu: command-shift-click on the "Select and Mask" item. I have not encountered this on my PC.
Day 3 - Smudge Text
Kinda like a flying monkey lion!
@blazing quail Dorothy and Toto dealt with this guy, didn't they???
My new hybrid pet.
day 3, smudge text inspired by @young karma
@fickle marten Not bad, but I think you need to soften the transition from horse to wings. It's very abrupt. Maybe try finding a few feather brushes and blend them in together a little smoother.
@whole prawn Interesting idea! Might I suggest you flip the peacock so it's facing to the right? You can see the shadow on the left near where it meets the penguin's body, the the right side of the penguin's chest has a shadow... Only other thing I may try extending the blue to half way down the Penguin's chest - slowing fading to transparent to make it nice and smooth.
@blazing quail Nicely done! To nitpick, I would do some colour grading on the monkey face - it's fur is too red compared to the rest of the lion. Maybe make it's beard a little darker as well, considering the light source is from behind.
@worn yew I like it... absurd as it is!
My sponge tool didn't do anything for the blue. What am i doing wrong?
Here is my smudgy dreamland from yesterday!
Hi @prime temple try to check on the top bar if the Sponge Tool is set to Desaturate mode and of the flow is set to a higher value. Also check if you have the right layer selected under your layers panel 🙂
@vernal herald I loved the pastel color palette that you used. The text with low contrast really suits the mood created by the colors, well done!

Sorry, i was late! haha. Im pretty new
@tardy heart I'm late too!!
Caricature art. Frist one, I made him too baby face. too cute so i made second one.
that's not Paul Trani anymore.
just started Smudge. I liked it. let's leave this alone. I will figure it out more later.
It’s looking very nice @soft maple, my only suggestion would be to increase the opacity of the reflection to 100% so it can have more realism, if it’s catching too much attention you can darken it a little bit, so it won’t create competition with the main "lioneagle" 😉
@wooden gate Jack Sparrow sitting on the skull is everything I needed to see today haha, very creative work! 😉
You did an amazing job blending the images @tacit condor! I really like how the wings are blending nicely to the horse, and the shadow makes it look even more realistic. Super well done!
What a delicious work @soft arch, it makes me want to eat one, even although I already had dinner 😂. I like how the background image has a vignette helping the smudge effect get the first attention. Well done!
Very nice @hasty osprey! My only suggestion would be to use the opacity at 100% on the reflection so it can look even more realistic. I loved how you blended the horse to the image, especially on the feet area. Nicely done!
@tight forge very nice! I like how you brought consistency of the green tones on the gradient on the background! Did you add the white area where the genie is standing? Good job!
Thats an interesting approach to the challenge @cold snow! I loved the combinations of the blending and the dispersion effect. I also see that you added a lens flare to the image, it looks very nice!
thank you @coral stone I would give you one, because I still have two. I bought them today (the big ones) 😄 ☕ 🍥

🤣
@plain sable super cool work! The details that you added on the water help to build a realistic look to the image. If you want, you might try the ripple effect (Filter > Distort > Ripple) to create some subtle waves, just to see how it looks. Also, just one nitpick: the elephant’s tusk is blue, but on the reflection it's white, you might use the same color on both just to look more consistent. Great job!
How cute @fickle garden! I loved how you blended both images. My only thought would be to play with some fur brushes, like Paul did on the live stream, on the edges of the squirrel, this will increase the realistic look of the composition. Good job 🙂
@elfin stream super coooool! Loved how you played with the scale of the legs, well done!
@gritty violet Nice color choice, the red/white text contrasts really well to the dark blue tones of the water. Just a personal thought, since the stoke of the letters on the Viking word are a little closer to each other, a big smudge brush tends to make these strokes touch on each other, especially on the G and K, you might use the smudge brush with a little lower size so the letters can have more readability. This is just an optional step, it’s already looking great!
@cerulean beacon that could be a promotional poster for the Lion King! Cool job, Jane! My suggestions are that you can apply a very subtle amount of gaussian blur to the reflections on the water, since you have a big amount of animals this won’t create visual competition to your image. Another point of feedback would be to place the swan on the right side of the image so it can get more attention since you have the reflections on the left side. Very nice job, Jane! Keep going. 😉
@young karma this is looking great! I loved how you played with the elephant trunk! The pigeon’s expression is amazing hah, awesome job!
@charred imp very creative approach! I like how you used the images of the fruits as a fill to the smudge stroke, well done!
@scenic swift awn, how cuteee! You did a spectacular work on the layer mask!
Very nice blending @deep mango! I loved how you matched the bodies positions, great job!
That’s a super great start @bitter barn! I like how you achieved the consistency of colors on the T Horn Fish. If you want it to blend, even more, you can add a shadow to make it look like it is really standing on the ground. Keep going, Florent, you are doing great!
@still blade super cool job on the layer mask. I loved how you matched the blur values and the distortions on the water reflection 💯
Don't worry @tardy heart, you can take the challenges on you own time. Well done on you day 1 🙂
@cunning needle woowww amazing works! Loved the geometric look of your smudge effect. I also like the colors and illustration look of the caricature effect, great job!
@young karma this is looking great! I loved how you played with the elephant trunk! The pigeon’s expression is amazing hah, awesome job!

Humming bee
@charred imp very creative approach! I like how you used the images of the fruits as a fill to the smudge stroke, well done!
@coral stone thank you very much for the feedback! if i revised, i'd probably work a bit more on the 'citrus' one, as i wasn't the happiest with how it turned out. maybe a narrower smudge stroke would be better - or just doing 'orange' instead of citrus. these challenges are really fun, btw! lots of great work from everyone.
Thanks so much! Learned a lot with this one.

Challenge 4, Hybrids. An old classic.... What'd y think?
Hi @prime temple. I had the same issue. Then I unchecked Vibrance. It's the little things! 😄
used today challenge along with smudge challenge
Here is my Day 2 - My daughter is the victim...🤣
I've followed today's challenge, but I've applied it to different concept, still an hybrid, I mixed the Top Gun cover and one of my teacher's face, I couldn't match the background to the body, I've had to change the tone, but I like it in the end (His face is pixelated because I don't to expose him to a lot of people I've never seen)
Caricature challenge
And finally happy with my caricature original photo by Artem Beliaikin from Pexels.

The elusive, magical catterfly in his natural habitat.
@pliant geyser Thank you so much!

Day #2, PSDailychallenge, Flying Trani😁
Challenge 4. Not overly happy with this one.
oufff ... it was not that simple. Well ... I'm not very satisfied, I share anyway ...It' a little too dark😶 I had trouble understanding how to move the Halo without the black background? it was a good exercise! (I would do others, it's fun!) thank you @PaulTrani ! (I'm french, sorry if my english is not great, and time to understand if i have an answer ...) 😉
Day 4 DCC Hybrid Animals
I'm curious about people's source materials so I thought I'd show mine too, bit late to add it to my freak of nature but here it is.
@ocean pine that's very nice for the hybrid but maybe you can adjust the color of the horse so it match beter and add the wings on the reflection in the water
Snappy jumpers
@brisk flower Loved that you played with the scale of the heads, it creates a great sense of depth to the image! The baby Kangagator (😂) is a great touch to the image. Nicely done!
That’s a super cool blending @young karma. Thanks for sharing the assets, it really helps for the feedback. Since you used a variation of different assets you can create a Color Lookup, Photo Filter or even a Gradient Map adjustment layer to create a color mood to the image (it can go from subtle to an extreme adjustment). There are a lot of presets you can adventure yourself. Blend modes and opacity are your friends when using these kinds of adjustment layers 😉 . Great job!

Challenge 4 on hybrid animals
merci pour la réaction @young karma 🙏 ... composition too funny @silver sable and @young bridge Ngogpa ! 😄
Hi @young karma. The details on the water are fantastic!
I took you image into Camera Raw and made some very subtle adjustments. I brightened the shadows (pushing the shadow slider to the right, you can also try the Blacks slider) a bit to recover some details on the black areas. I also adjusted the exposure by brighten up them, you can see that even the lens flare was enhanced by these adjustments. Last, under the FX tab I added a vignette just to enhance the focal point straight to the creature ;)
I included a Gif with the before/after and a png version since the gif compress the colors.
I’m not sure if I understood your halo issue, were you using layer masks? Feel free to tag me if you need any help 🙂
Lion / Eagle in the Savannah
@twilit shore Not bad, but there are a few things that need some work. The transition from person to horse is way too abrupt. I would suggest blending the "seam" together more. Maybe up to the middle of his 6-abdomen. Just looks a little too much cut/paste right now. Work in some shadows where his hand in resting on the "hip" area too. Would make it a little more realistic looking.
@loud rapids Not bad at all! But, the wings are way too small. You would need to double them in size to make them more realistice. Think of the weight of the lion, and how much lift it would need to get it off the ground. Otherwise, good stuff!
@coral stone thank you very much ! it's really nice to have made this improvement! I take note of the comment. For the Halo, it is especially that I was trying to move the halo without moving the black background ??? and I was having trouble finding a way to change the color of the Halo? Finally, it is not dramatic! Thanks again !🙏

@pliant geyser Very intense image. I cant wait to see how you complete it, once you mow the lawn. Can you show us your assets?
Hey Ted.. Here are the assets, except for the background image.
A lot of really good blending. I like the eagle's head and the front wing. I like the masking of the rider and the back wing. And the puppet warp on the eagle's feet/talons. Solid

@wet thistle really beautiful effort. I would suggest making your creations each a bit larger. Theyre too small to be appreciated for the effort you p

Thank you for your suggestion @eternal mica. I was afraid it would not be “realistic” if I would make every creature bigger, but who knows.

@wet thistle Oh my, thats really something. Beautiful job. Each animal is done so well. How about picking one of the creations and making it the focal point of the image and then have the others be secondary to that primary animal? maybe the peapanther? You could highlight it a bit more than the others and give it a more central prominent position.
@wet thistle love that creation - it should be an illustration in a book. If only Lewis Carrol could have seen it! 👍
@eternal mica I think I can keep it like this, there is another challenge coming up 😅 . The way they are situated tells a story, like the Parfish looking scared to the Peapanther and the Peapanther looking at the Bettastart. Thanks again for your suggestions!

@unkempt field great job on both of them! I like the colors and luminosity adjustments you made to the ship and the highlighted area on the skull is looking nice as well!

Hybrid Animal Challenge - Hippogriff
@sage urchin This is lovely! I loved how the white areas of the eagle look consistent compared to the white ones from the horse. My only suggestion would be to increase the opacity of the Hippogriff's reflections to 100% so the trees that are behind doesn't appear on it's reflection. If that's the effect you are going for, of course 😉
Liquid effect. Just needs soap.
Here is my quick attempt... I'll go back and try it again later. 😀

@young karma the splashes are looking super cool, they are a great touch for the liquid text. I also like how they seem to blend to the text's edges very well!
My entry for todays challenge
Here is my quick attempt 😀
Great quick attempt@young karma ... You were so fast than you forgot the second hand (wash your hands)😉
Nice colors and overall blending 👍
@blazing quail great image choice! I like how you played with some angles and applied a drop shadow to the text to enhance the impression that it is placed on the ground. Just a personal suggestion, if you want, you can play with some overlap in this area, to look like it is under the water that is placed on the bottom. You can do it in many ways, one is by creating a layer mask and painting using the brush with black as foreground color and 10-40% of opacity, it will fade this area already. This is just an optional step. Well done, Ant 😉
Challenge#5: "Liquid" Text

@dim brook this is looking pretty nice! I really like how you played with some subtle distortion on the text. The color is looking very nice as well! Good job!
Very nice @tulip root! I loved how you played with the effect that some bubbles seem to be coming from the text, it reminds me of the dispersion effect. I’ll leave the link for a dispersion effect tutorial in case you want to play with it a little more https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4xgOWWfurpU 🙂
liquifying with @brittle slate ... Max , any suggestion to improve it?
Super cool composition @brisk flower! I like how you played with the red tones of the text without losing contrast. If you want you might apply more bubbles or even liquify just to enhance the liquid effect. Great job!
Amazing font choice @tacit condor! I like how its thickness enhances the liquid effect. Also the blending with the splashes is looking fantastic. 💯

Challenge 4 Lornhorn Hare
Fun stuff. Added a bit more color in text with paint bucket
#2 - Help couldn't get the drop shadow the color I wanted.
Enjoying these challanges, learning lots!
hah no problem @whole flame. It is looking very good 😉
Wow @young karma this is impressive! How did you made it?
Very nice @uneven vessel! My only suggestion is that you might brighten up the text a bit, so it can have a nice amount of contrast against the background increasing the readability. 😉
Looking super cool @eternal mica! I wonder if you could reduce the glow around the text or even remove it, just to make the water effect stand out a little more. If you want, you can also create a Hue/Saturation adjustment layer clipped to the text and with the colorize option checked move the hue to get more a blue/cyan tones to the water, this is totally optional, of course 😉
Wow @prime temple I loved how the colorful stroke gives the serif font a playful look. Usually, serifs fonts represent formal occasions but in this case, it worked out perfectly with the colors! Amazing job 💙
Lovely work @tawdry frost, the vibrant colors worked really well with the smudge effect! I also like how you played with the typeface, nicely done!
I couldn't quite get the text to look right in the filter gallery, so I just faked it!
Cool work @sturdy vault! I like how you blended the horns to the rabbit's head. My only nitpick is to work on the blending on this area a little more, well done 🙂
@loud mist super cool works, Stephanie! About the Drop Shadow, make sure you have normal as the blend mode when you apply it, so it will show the exact color that you chose without any blending effect. 😉
Wow @haughty cape another great job! I loved the way you masked the wings and the lion. 💯
Nice one @wheat marten! My only suggestion would be to work on the contrast juuuust a bit, on the surname part especially on the least letters, So it can have more readability, you can do it by brightening it or just positioning the image clipped on the on a brighter area. Great job, Mike!
haha no worries @sacred field. These effects are a lot of a fine tuning, trial and error process, feel free to play with the filter gallery, liquify and clipping masks as many times as you want 😉
@coral stone Thanks, Valdair! ✌️

@coral stone 1. I decreased the drop shadow. This is much more subtle. 2. The underlying water image had to be repositioned to allow more "water" to show through the text.
Great improvements @eternal mica! 💯
@coral stone Thank you for your critique. I agree, this version is much better.
Gave +1 Creative Carma to @coral stone
@coral stone Thanks. I am not sure what I need to do. Work the fur, shape or what. Suggestions.
Gave +1 Creative Carma to @coral stone
@sturdy vault you can use a soft round brush and paint white on the layer mask of the Lornhorn layer to recover the area just to cover the little bright part of the background that is showing. If you don't have a layer mask, you can use the Clone Stamp Tool on a new layer and pick a sample from a nearby area and paint. You can use a low amount of flow on the clone stamp brush to build the painting slowly, it will help with the blending. Feel free to tag me if you need any help 🙂
Day 5 - Liquid Text
Yesterday's challenge - Bunny Lion 🐇
Very nice, @fluid wharf! The colors and distortions are looking super cool. Just a thought, usually the script fonts are used in lowercase because of its ability to "connect" the letters. If you want, you can use this technique to achieve the effect. Great job 🙂
This is looking pretty cool @plain sable! I like how the blue tones of the text and image from the bottom are consistent. Just a thought: I believe you missed an "a" between the "l" and "s" in the word splash.
Thank you Valdir I don't know if I have problem in my photoshop because I tried to use lower case font but not accept .. log off and on but not fixed
@fathom prairie Try to select the text and under the properties panel you'll see Type Options
The first icon is the all caps if it is enabled, disable it and you'll be good to go
I Did ... the Tt not work for me ... even in smudge challenge I can't use lower case font
in illustrator work good but not in PS
That's odd @fluid wharf. If you font does have the lowercase options it should be appearing, I don't know what might possibly causing that. Try to reinstall Ps to see if it works.
I will do ...thank you very much
Gave +1 Creative Carma to @coral stone
Good catch on the missing 'a' I wish PS had spell checker 🙂
Day5, so fresh! 💦
@coral stone I'm sorry I am missing it. Left or right horn. I fixed the back of the long horn body where it looked like a stake was coming out of his body. I did change some of it. I pulled the right horn out a little, I made the hare's ear a little larger so the outline is gone between ear and horn, I also added whiskers.
Challenge 4. Hybrid. Eagle wings, legs and talons. Used Filter, Emboss for the text. I enjoyed all the possibilities. Thank you!
Finished Challenge 3, gonna work on the rest really soon
Oh @sturdy vault, I'm sorry, I meant the area from the bottom, the one that I sent the screenshot, near the leg 👇 . The blending of the horns is looking great. But I loved the improvement, especially the whiskers, thank you so much for the effort. 🙂
Gave +1 Creative Carma to @sturdy vault
@sturdy vault You could also could try lighting up the horn in the front of the rabbits head a bit make it stand out a bit from the ears
@coral stone thanks Oh no. I can fix it. It may be leaves from the original image. It was fall when I took it. Thought I had everything out of it. Check, check, and check again.
Gave +1 Creative Carma to @coral stone
@plain sable Thanks. Makes me chuckle I just darkened them because the image was backlit with the sun.
@sturdy vault a chuckle is good 🙂 you could also change color a bit maybe match the hide. I'm a dart thrower I try a lot of wacky things in pursuit... although looking at it again you could go darker 🙂 just another dart to throw.
its an Orinoco flow 🙂
@plain sable it's let's try this, and this, and ooh maybe this then realize you are almost back to where you started. Gotta love creativity.😃

@sturdy vault mythically excellent. What a strange creature... it's kind of majestic! thanks for posting :)
@regal mica very nice lettering!
@sage urchin nice going! the lighting on the wing closest to the viewer is SUPER nice
@gritty violet the essence of life! i think the liquid-effect is looking good. To make it more "water-y", i would try bulging the effect at the tip so it looks more like a water drop.
@floral frigate very clean! my only feedback is the water at the top left part of the "h" feels very grey and hard. I might try lightening it so it looks more white instead of grey

wow!!! @young karma!! feels so good!!! 😃
Day 5 💧 💦
@cunning needle These are great! Really loving all the elements you added, and the masking and compositing is looking really good! I think in the image with the cat perhaps the cat could be separated from the background a bit more. A lot of the colors and values seem similar. Maybe blurring the background slightly, darkening it, shifting the color temperature, or something to separate them a bit more could look nice. I also think the bright light in the head/flower area of the second one could fall on the back of the cow too, might unite the lighting a bit more. Really great designs, loving all the detail and colorful elements!
@mighty linden Loving the look of this text! Really cool watery/icy effect with that. Really nice transparent look. The water droplets are a really nice touch too!
@thorn geyser The water drops coming off the letters and the fountain are looking really great! I feel like the bottom of the "P" could maybe be a bit brighter to read at a glance but that's a minor detail. This whole design has a nice sort of triangular composition, very cool!
@young karma Ooh, really interesting effect! The water coming off the head looks really interesting. The coloring and look of the head turned out great too. I think the text could probably even be a bit brighter to give it a bit more pop, but that's a minor note. Well done!
@atomic lion Very cool! Nice work on this. The skull is a little confusing at a glance. If you're doing a reflection in the water I think it could help to lower the opacity of the reflection a bit, blur it a little, and mask it off on the rocks so it only shows on the wet sand. Might help the readability of the effect if that's what you were going for. Good job!

@barren ice very nice effect, I like how you blended the bubbles on the Q and Ts.
Cool job @covert loom! The splashes are a great touch for the effect! My only suggestion would be to adjust the R shape, right now it's looking like it is a "T", I believe that with a layer mask or even with liquify you will be able to adjust 😉
@young karma I loved the way that the text blended with the splashes, especially on the version 2.
Loved the Pugwin @young karma! The dog/penguin blending is looking very realistic, great job!
@jolly kite very nice approach to the challenge! Loved the melted parts of the text, awesome work!

With all that's going on, this quote from MLK jumped out at me when playing with water. I will probably update it with a more readable font when I have time.

here my challenge after using lower case forn
way behind, but time to catch up. the coastline
@queen dew thanks for posting! i'm confident you can land on something you like. if you remove the light grey shapes from behind the text, you could lighten the text so it's easier to read it
@hollow yarrow looks great! awesome contrast with the light text and med-blue background
@soft arch cool composite! I would lighten the text so it's legible on top of the background
@young karma very cool iteration!
@soft arch interesting composition - keep playing :)
@young karma great message
@primal fulcrum nice job! thanks for posting.
@tropic knoll ha! i'm glad you were challenged.. they're not supposed to be "Easy"! just beginner friendly 🙂 I like how you lightened the top of the lettering to easily read on top of the darker background
@sacred field nice! no rush on posting but thanks for meeting the deadline :)
@sage urchin this feels like a cook book cover - love it!
@south adder nice job , thanks for posting!
Gave +1 Creative Carma to @queen dew
@young bridge thanks for posting! i like the super dark vibe of this design.. but the text is difficult to read since it's dark (like the background)
@cerulean beacon nice! i like the fish addition. right now, the assets all feel similar in size (the splash, fish and individual words). i would play with the hierarchy by making assets small, medium and large
@high mesa nice job! the text is a little difficult to read because it's so delicate and placed on top of some of the water droplets. I would add some more room to the top and move the text upwards a bit
@inland kiln ha! it's 5 o clock somewhere. beautiful liquid effect
@hasty oracle thanks for posting! you're getting better every day.

Lovely colors @fluid wharf 🙂 Did you fixed the issue from yesterday?
Amazing work @safe linden! I loved how the color adjustments you applied to the skeleton, it creates a great realistic look to the composition! 💯
a little behind but i had fun with this one!
@sterile bane Thank you, Kathleen! (:
Gave +1 Creative Carma to @sterile bane
Looks super cool @young karma! If you want it to be even more realistic you can create a shadow for it. You can use the ones from the right trees as a reference for the light direction 😉
@coral stone thanks! i actually did try to add a shadow down there, just took a brush and colored a small part of the ground dark brown! i'll make it more evident - thank you!

@young karma : Awesome work! If you add shadow it will be perfect! 💯
Gave +1 Creative Carma to @hollow yarrow
@hollow yarrow thank you so much! 😃
not really happy with this one, i think it's partially the font
@hollow yarrow powerful piece
@young karma Really cool! I love the centerpiece of the water droplet and how it overlaps the text. I think it could be cool to add a bit of a "caustic light" pattern on the text to give it a little more brightness and give it a cool water themed effect. Just a thought. Really cool lighting in this one!
@modern halo Looking good Willi! The water effect and lighting turned out well. The text has a cool texture and look to it too. It seems like it might look nice to scale up the text a bit and maybe move it down a touch? Might make for a stronger focal point to the image to give it a bit more punch. Nice work!
@next notch Really liking the lighting on this one! I like the slightly creepy feeling that text style gives it. It might be nice to put that brightest area more towards the center and give the lighting more of a gradual fade around the outside of the text?
@mint vigil Really great textures on this design! I especially like the texture over the lower design with that sort of glowy feeling it has. Really nice work!
@young karma The wolf with the wings and antlers is a really cool effect! My only suggestion on this one would be to increase the contrast on the wolf just a touch, specifically the darker tones to better match the deep contrast of the wings and antlers. Might make it all fit together even more. Very cool!
@soft arch Really nice composite here! The photo in the background is a nice touch, and I like how you cooled down the colors. I think perhaps the text could be even a bit brighter to have a greater contrast against the background. Might give it a slightly stronger read.
@heavy ruin The water droplet effect is looking really nice! My only thought is that the water drops in the center seem to be taking attention away from the text, which I assume is the intended focal point. It might be nice to brighten up the text and the bottom water drops below it, and even mask out some of the water droplets around the center if it gets a little too busy around the text. Just some suggestions. Good job 👍
@haughty cape That text effect is looking really solid! The water look came out really naturally. Great contrast and focus against the background as well. Nicely done!
@fluid wharf Very nice, the water droplets are looking good! I think they do make it a bit harder to read the shape of the text though. It might help to brighten up the text a bit more like the light blue at the bottom of the center symbol to give it a bit more readability and overpower the brightness of the water droplets next to it. Just a thought. This turned out well!
@safe linden This is great, really liking the color grading and texture! Gives it a unique feel. I like the subtlety of the ribs as well, kind of cool how it’s a secondary read. Looks really natural in the image too!
@cerulean steppe The water splash effects are looking really good! The only thing is I feel like the text could be a bit brighter/more clear on the “nds” part of the text. I think when the font gets a bit thin it can lose readability a bit more easily. This turned out well, great contrast against the background. 👍
@vernal herald That turned out great, nicely done. I really like how you flipped the water splash effect so it looks like the text fell into the water. The effect on the text came out very well, really liking what you did with the water droplets on the tail ends of it. Very nice!

@jolly kite
@coral stone ok thank you
@sterile bane here’s my 2nd attempt, same font but different effect, thanks for your feedback
Gave +1 Creative Carma to @sterile bane
Great job @last lark I like how you played with the shadows and highlights of the text without losing the color consistency, nicely done!
The distortions on the text are looking very nice @ocean pine, my only suggestion would be to brighten these areas of the text juuust a bit so it can have more contrast against the black background. Great job, Tracy! 🙂
Just having fun!
Loved the color grading and the subtlety of the halftone especially on the 3rd version @covert loom. My only point of feedback would be adjusting the layer mask on the horse's right ear, you can easily hide this piece (👇) by using the black brush and painting on the layer mask. Great work, Mahedi 💙

I love this retro look challenge, what doo U think?
or do u think this one works better?
Day 6. Had to use a Blend Mode to apply the halftone in the end as the Halftone Pattern in Filter Gallery converted my photo to black and white.
The well dressed stud. I'm just guessing we were supposed to give it a screen printed look? 🤪
Kids & condiments...retro collage challenge. (Sidebar: in looking for retro images of kids eating...99.9% were white kids. Advertisers had such an opportunity to make all people represented and they didn't do it.)
@blazing quail fun! i love how the woman creates a frame in the bottom right and left of the design. I think you could play with the size of the other objects to help the viewer know what to look at first. perhaps some a bigger, medium, and small to help lead the eye
@haughty cape great job using the red to blue gradient to help the entire design feel cohesive
@safe linden cool! the reflection in the water feels a little squished.. i would continue to play with the perspective to really nail it! you got this!
@loud mist nice! love that you used historical images to spread a strong message. the latin text blends a little bit with the background since it runs right along the edges of the building. i might try integrating it even more with the background so it becomes more of a texture by lightening it and maybe changing the blend mode. lmk what you think!
@modern halo awesome colors!
@tacit condor do you have a favorite version? i think the sunset color scheme is more legible and the warmth in the white shirt is just awesome
@young karma very cool! personally i think the bottom feels more "retro". the use of red/cyan makes the top options feel closer to a 3d effect. i think you could still use red and cyan but maybe decrease the effect so the red, cyan and original color are just barely out of line
@eternal mica cool! i would try making the horse's neck a liiiittle bit longer but other than that, great job
@thorn geyser powerful! i love the warm highlights and cool shadows. it really helps the composition feel "Realistic" while staying surreal in subject matter 🙂
@sacred field ha! nice job
@arctic rover that's a great point about representation in advertisement and media. it's important to keep in mind in our own designs! great color palette with the pale red and blue - def feels retro.
Thanks @sterile bane

@sterile bane sunset for sure...tried the two different halftones techniques the color halftone work the best for me
@sterile bane Thank you! 🙂

@safe linden cool! the reflection in the water feels a little squished.. i would continue to play with the perspective to really nail it! you got this!
@sterile bane yeah, I should have scaled the horse down a bit, or move it further onto the shore, with proper perspective on the reflection it cuts the head off, which is unfortunate.
@honest gorge super cool job, Carla! I like how the chrome effect turned out on the text. If you want you might brighten the shadows areas just a bit, especially on the "e" and "r" words so it can have a little more contrast against the black background. Well done!
@heady stirrup awesome variations! I loved the colors that you used and the texture that the oil paint produced, the halftone looks pretty nice as well! Great job!
Very nice combinations of the challenges @modern halo! Loved how you played with the scale of the cable car, it creates a super cool sense of depth to the composition. Nicely done!
@wheat marten this turned out great! I like how the objects seem to be pushed (or pulled) by the camera. Just an optional suggestion: you might reduce the opacity of the elements that are on the background like the moon, city, and sign just a bit, so the elements that are in the front can pop a little more 😉 Great job, Mike!
Wow @cold snow this looks super fancy! I loved your font choice for this one and how the drops seem to interact with the text. Well done, Shelly!
@sacred field cool work, Marc! My only suggestion is that you might create a focal point to the composition, you can decide on what you want the emphasis to be, and then apply some hierarchy, you can do it with scale, position and even opacity. I loved your work with the reflection on the day 4, it's looking great!
Very nice color adjustments @sterile tinsel! If you want, you might apply some effects from the Filter Gallery like the Chrome, just to enhance the water effect on the text. Good job!
This is looking super cool @safe linden! I loved the color of the background of your day 3, also a nice job with the smudge tool on the text and the clouds. Did you use the smudge tool to create that glow on the clouds? It's awesome! 😉
@gusty urchin amazing! Loved the overlaps and the moon placed on the subject's face. Great job! 💯
Nice improvements @cerulean beacon! Day 7 looking good as well. If you want, you might fine-tune the halftone pattern just a bit, so the images can look sharper, this is totally optional, just personal preference 😉
You did great @sturdy vault! I like the effect especially on the "water" word, you might fine-tune with the filter gallery on the word Clean, like Paul did using the chrome effect, just to see how it looks, there's no right or wrong 😉
@coral stone Thanks, Valdair! I'll see if I can punch it up a bit and make a focal point!
Gave +1 Creative Carma to @coral stone
@haughty cape I loved your attention to the details, the burst effect on the television is looking great! I also like the color adjustments you made and the way you faded the image of the flowers so it won't compete with the objects from the front. Amazing work!
@tacit condor the screenprint effect turned out great, especially on the orange version! Great job!
@fluid wharf super cool variations! I think you could apply the color halftone effect just to enhance the screen print effect. Nicely done!
@sacred field just saw your screen print challenge. I absolutely loved how you blended the horse's body to the human. haha Awesome work!

PSDCC #7 Retro Collage
Hi @brisk flower I believe there's no option for color on the Halftone from the filter gallery. One thing that you can do is to create a copy merged of your work (ctrl+alt+shift+E) > turn it into a smart object (in case you want to refine it later) > apply the halftone from the filter gallery > then you can play with some blend modes of the layer, I think multiply will give you a cool effect. 🙂

@honest gorge awesome look, I think the word of water is far away from the water in bottom 🙂
@tame jacinth nice work,I would like to suggest playing more with the blending mode for the words and take a pieces from the water and stick it in the word to present the feeling of the worlds blow up from the water 🙂
@gritty violet pretty work, well done 🙂
@winter tinsel so great, you was succeeded to put us in this time 😍
@thin spade awesome work 😍 😍 I would like to suggest for the "Challenge 4 Hybrid Animals" work more with the light on (wings, feet and the face) I guess you already spend time with that and it's so cool and pretty work, with a little bit of retouch it will be wonderful 💪
@young karma so much like the story in your poster😍 , just one thing, in my first expression, I feel the boy out of the mode of the picture, i don't know if you mean that or it was a mistake in the layer panel ? 👍
@eternal mica awesome work my dear, I guess you already use this camera 🙂 so nice
@covert loom Looks good! Really liking the screenprint image, especially the first and third out of the 3 you posted with the more bold halftone texture. Gives the whole image a nice unified look.
@winter tinsel Loving the water effect on this text! It's looking extremely convincing as water. The splash of water over it is a cool look too. I think it's just a bit hard to read at the moment, particularly around the second half of it. Really nice look!
@last lark Really loving how well the water splash and the texture on the text fit together, really nice effect. I think it might help to brighten up the text slightly, especially in the middle to make it a bit stronger of a focal point. Some really nice motion in the water splash too, gives the image some great energy!
@ocean pine I like it! Really nice texture on the text. It might help to brighten up some of the darker thin areas of the text to give it a bit clearer of a read at a glance. Just a thought. Nice work!
@queen dew Very cool Paul, really liking those splash effects! It might look good to slightly fade the water in the background behind the "P" with a layer mask, or even darken it down slightly just to give the "P" a bit more of a clear read. Really liking the bubbling effects too!
@sacred field Hah, very nice, I'm liking these mixes of animals! Looking really good. It might look nice to give the reflection in the water a slight blur for a bit more of a realistic effect. Really nice compositing work!
@prime temple Loving the lighting on this and coloration. It fit's in really well with the background image. The only small suggestion I'd have would be to increase the contrast in the castle by boosting the darks a bit so they closer match the contrast of the shadows in the floating island below. Might help unify them a bit more. Awesome image!
@young karma Love it! The color grading and halftone image are working extremely well to make this piece really cohesive looking. Also the color and saturation definitely pushes that retro feel. Composition looks great too!
@brisk flower Really interesting look with the intense outline/glow effect! I like the yellow/purple contrast in this image too. The high contrast and texture gives it a bit of a creepy feel, nice job 👍
@pallid kettle Really liking the more subdued colors of this one to push that retro feel. Really nice texture and design elements too. Nice balance of shapes to this design!
@charred imp Hah, really liking the owldog image! Really nice work on matching the lighting of the two images. The only suggestion I have is there seems to be a bit of a blue outline around the edge of the face on the left side that could be removed, and maybe the seam around the right side of the face could be softened up by using a soft round brush on the mask. Either that or show even more of that face border shape we see on the owl image to make it a bit more clear and prominent. Right now it’s kind of in between the two and hard to tell which. Really nice job with this one!
@young karma Really impressive work composing all these elements together! With all these numerous elements I wonder if giving it a simple color temperature different between the figures and background might help? Maybe a warmer sepia tone for all the people and the background being blue like it is might give it a nice uniform read? Just an idea. Really nice job!
Retro Collage
@bleak fossil thanks for the feedback and ideas. I gave it a go - bit of a fight broke out between the colour images and the mono ones, maybe I should have them all desaturated first? However, I appled a subtle change and it does support your point I think.
