@bleak fossil Thanks for the review... I'd like to start doing stuff like you do on your website - the full on illustration... Went to school for animation 30 years ago, but never went anywhere with it, so I let my drawing skills fade way too much. So now, it's back to opening the books, taking a Udemy course and watching Wade Acuff's video streams when I can.

@calm bane Haha amazing ice cream, seems like they're serving it in Dubai 🙂
@inland kiln You've just picked two colors and I think it's the best choice for your comp. Looking really smooth 👍
@worn yew 😅maybe
@rich swan It reminded me one of Chemical Brothers' video clip but I can't remember which one. Looking so much 3D you made really well.
@young karma thanks! it's inspired by the colours of Chicago Bulls so I would stick to it, however what would you think about contrasting it more?
Gave +1 Creative Carma to @gritty dust
@obtuse topaz Hahah I couldn't get what's that bread or orange? Whatever it is I want to eat 😄
@atomic echo Thank you for the shout out Sam. I was having trouble with the text on the base. Then I read a comment here mentioning transform>warp, and I realized thats what I was looking for. I re-worked the text. Its better but still not 100%.
Gave +1 Creative Carma to @atomic echo
V2 with transform>warp text
@lime cedar Very nice effect, I like that the model has some noise on the top area, you might applying on the shorts and legs areas as well so the whole body can have the same amount enhancing the realistic look 🙂 .
Thank you @coral stone I am going to try and rework this.. I have a lot of good ones from this shoot and am planning on taking it to the next level by making multiple trophies and compositing them into a cabinet (hoping I can find one in my real estate photo inventory)
@atomic echo Sam, I cant stop smiling at your comment to @hollow yarrow. He absolutely is a machine!!! Franck, Im so happy you joined this DCC and I get to see your imagination at work for another two weeks.
That’s good too @worthy salmon, i think to place the object in Curved circle or in random shape to make it appear...
@rich swan awesome concept. The red shading especially inside the shirt and the hair makes it look so real
Day 1
@cold oyster Powerful image
@honest glade that’s really awesome 🤩 it need just a title in the left 😉
@young karma woooow this is my best challenge of the day
2nd attempt, Day 1, Gilded objects, comments welcome.
@atomic echo Sam, I cant stop smiling at your comment to @hollow yarrow. He absolutely is a machine!!! Franck, Im so happy you joined this DCC and I get to see your imagination at work for another two weeks.
@eternal mica 🤣 ... I'm not a machine... I'm just trying to push as far as I can... Happy to join DCC
challenge 1
First day challenge 😋
@calm bane Yum yum!...Love this! 👍
this is my version of gold person
Eeeek so I got brave and started my first project on Behance with 2 more gilded objects. No idea if I have it done right 😅

@hollow yarrow Thank you for your feedback. I will try a drop shadow! 😄
@unborn rock nice work with the golden effect! I like how the details are preserved on the right side.
Very nice effect on the rose @jolly kite! Loved how you enhanced the shadows and the highlights without losing details. Great job!
@emer Your butterfly is soo beautiful!
@brazen mango LOVED IT haha. Very nice use of the golden effect. 💯
@covert loom nice job on the gold effect, Mahedi! Lived how the details looks like they are shining. If you want, you might adjust the contrast of the top part of the camera, just for the highlights and the shadows appear more like of the bottom elements 🙂
@vale gale very nice job! I like how the player contrasts really well against the dark background, nicely done!
Great job putting other elements like the flowers and the gold splatters on the background @young karma. 💯
@thorny scroll The light addition looks awesome! I loved how you added some glow to the model as well. If you want you might add some small flares to enhance the shinig effect Lovely work, Anna!
Great job on the background @obtuse topaz, I like the neon lines you added and the reflections as well. The gold effect looks great!
Lovely work @cyan saffron! The golden effect makes he look like it is actually a statue, great job!
Great image choice @wet thistle! I like how the golden effect seems to match the elements on her right shoulder and on the hair! 💯
Beautiful effect @inland kiln! Loved how the combination of different colors and elements created a great concept to your composition! Nicely done!
Very nice effect @south adder! If you want you might enhance the metalic look by using the apply image one more time 🙂
Great job @young karma the update looks super cool 💯
@left abyss I loved how metalic the snake is, the details look very nice. Impressive work
@frigid oasis Great job adding elements on the composition. I also like the gold effect on the player. You might fine tune with the texture and noise reduction slider to see how it looks. Super cool work!
@queen pine Loved how you played with the background, Rudy! I also like your serif font choice, great job.
@light cipher Love the use of the fire double exposure work. Good stuff!
he's a true steel type now
Looking above I see someone else used the same image but added even more to it. This is my first time trying anything like this.
Thanks @pliant geyser

Day 1 - Gilded Dancer: I wanred to try out a silver and a gold version.
@light cipher the gold is working better for me but I wonder is it just the stronger more contrasting background in that one to the silver one. Love the swirls. No idea how to do that. Beginner with Ps. Trying to get to grips with it. Have always just used if for mundane stuff.
I found that the original photo is best 😏 with lots of contrast fix first. Photo of son.
R0llinthemud1!
@lavish venture Wow 🙂 What a butterfly. It's looking shiny and gorgeous.
hello all - i know i've used this image before, but i really wanted to try this super neat trick!!
I could not get the image to open in Photoshop. It kept throwing up a window stating " Could not open "run.png" because the ICC profile is not supported. I even tried opening the photo in LR and then saving it as a jpeg. Then it just opens it at about the size of a postage stamp.
@lavish venture Wow 🙂 What a butterfly. It's looking shiny and gorgeous.
@worn yew Thanks! Had fun playing with it. Looking forward to the next one.
@lavish venture thanks for the feedback - I am the same, I only used photoshop for pretty basic stuff, love learning all these techniques. I just learned the swirly technique on the last PSchallenge with @brittle slate I think you can still view it - it was called Playing with Fire 😄
Gave +1 Creative Carma to @lavish venture
When i click get started to download the file - i get cannot reach this file - help!
@mortal shale Dropbox is not opening for you?
nope!
I'll give you the started file on your DM 🙂
@lavish venture You're welcom
@south adder I think you should have pushed it further. More shine, more color
@left abyss I like the snake a lot, but if you added a shadow behind his head it would separate the head from the body and make it stand out more and not be lost so much.
@frigid oasis Starting by upping the contrast in the first step where you made it B&W would give you more detail in the end result.
is there a way of watching the live video again? I never seem to catch them when they're on 😦
@subtle crypt Go to Youtube search for adobe and then click on the Red CC link. Then hit videos, and look for what you want. I have sort set to newest. You can watch again at Behance but I find it easier to go to YouTube - and I find more that way that I might want to watch.
Thanks @coral stone !

@eternal mica I would have gone with the perspective tool instead. then you wouldn't get that bulge that makes the sides look so curved.
@honest glade Super job!
2nd attempt, Day 1, Gilded objects, comments welcome.
@south adder A dark background with gold makes it look shinier and more metallic, at least when I was messing around with mine. I had a lighter background at first but it didn't look near as good as when I made the bg darker.
@lavish venture Super! That butterfly is great. Guess you got it figured out now 🙂

Thanks @coral stone
@lavish venture Super! That butterfly is great. Guess you got it figured out now 🙂
@primal fulcrum Kinda. I ended up back with the magic wand for the feelers. They got chopped and I tried what you suggested. Worked well on the horse (although it didn't come out great on the metallic) but not the feelers of the butterfly. Not sure how to 'hide' sections again if that makes sense if I reveal too much. Thanks. Started my very first Behance project too. Finally feeling confident and happy with the results in general.
@lavish venture You can turn off the marching ants with control H. Do it again to turn back on. Be sure you are not "cutting out" things but using masks. By painting on mask, you can always add or subtract easily. Turn down the opacity (for some reason on a mask it is called "density") to see through it if you need to when you make changes. You will find that on the properties. I have added the properties panel to the layer panel. It is now there as a tab all the time so I can easily get to it. I find I need it a lot more now as I learn more tricks from these challenges.

@primal fulcrum OK I will try that. Add I was getting, subtracting I wasn't.
Here is my day 1 gilded statue. It feels like I should put it in an environment of some sort.
@coral stone with small and big flare
My hand is already disappeared.
Decided to play with colors rather than gilded "homework" with original background blurred.
Gave my comp a bit of a tweak tried to get a bit more shine in to the face
@light cipher Wow 😍
@primal fulcrum OK I will try that. Add I was getting, subtracting I wasn't.
@lavish venture Hold down alt and it will take away from a selection. Or go up to the top to the tool options and you will see several options - add to selection, subtract, intersect and I think divide. Anyway pressing any of those will change what happens if you can't remember the keyboard keys.

@primal fulcrum thank you so much for help. I'll try that.
Challenge 2. Does not look quite right. I matched color and brightness. Guess I should watch the stream first.
Starter file.
@ruby panther Superb man
@ruby panther Nice job on colour matching of the whale... maybe alter the water the whale is in to match the beach scene ocean?
@pliant geyser Thanks, I used a small field blur on the front side of the water. Should I go more?
Gave +1 Creative Carma to @pliant geyser
question? are these challenges due every day? or just as long as they are done by the 9th day?
@ruby panther I would suggest you duplicate the whale water layer, rubber stamp / content aware fill out the whale. Turn that into a smart object. Then play with different levels of blur.
@quasi swan thanks i understood that, just thought there was a little bit of a deadline to get them in as part of the creative challenge. to push us to learn and get things done, that was all thanks appreciate your time and response
Gave +1 Creative Carma to @quasi swan
@turbid jolt Challenges are due whenever you want. Try not to post them more than a week late though - there's a separate sub forum called "past-challenge" that would be appropriate for those.
I keep getting an error saying 'Could not transform because a linked smart object file is missing'. Any suggestions?
@patent timber Rasterize the layer first. After that you should be able to make it a smart object.
@pliant geyser - Thank You

I figure these masks are worth their weight in gold.

Hey guys, here's my challenge for Day 1, I used a picture of mine for it 🙂

#psdailychallenge I really lucked out with the lighting of these 2 images. @lethal mural
Any better?
well thats cool!! @haughty cape
@kind ibex maybe use content aware fill to fill the gap on the iPad top right as we look at? Otherwise superb! Love it.
Any better?
@haughty cape love it!
@haughty cape Looking good. There is definitely improvement from the 1st. Give this vid a look, great step by step for dealing with hair https://youtu.be/T2D8EIh9Gus

Thanks, @lime cedar - I'll definitely give that a watch
Gave +1 Creative Carma to @lime cedar
Here's my Day 2 Challenge.
@haughty cape try creating a new layer. Putting it on top, and clipping to the hair layer. And paint with a color similar to the hair to remove the fringing
@whole tangle Awesome, looks like this could be a badge, logo, or some sort of trophy type pin. The metallic effect works really well on this image! It looks like there's some wispy areas around the mane and tail of the horse that could use a little clean up? An environment could be cool, though I really like it against the dark flat background. Gives it some great contrast. Really nice work, this turned out great!
@thorny scroll Ooh, very nice, those flares coming from the center add some nice shine to the whole thing. I like how the lighting has a focus in this one too. Looks like it could be an emmy style statue trophy or something, nice work on this effect!
@worn yew Awesome, this effect came out really nicely! Fits in perfectly with the base stand, and the engraved text and design looks great. It could be cool to apply a emboss effect or something so that it looks like the bottom edges of the letter catch a little light to really sell that engraved feel, but that's such a tiny detail, hah. This whole thing has a really nice shape and design to it, very cool!
@deep mango Really cool Dorina! Always great to see people using their own photos for these as well. Really nice masking, and the background really gives this whole design some great contrast and pop. Nicely done!
PSDCC #1 Gilded Objects
@haughty cape Love it! The perspective change with the way it looks like she's stepping deeper into the phone, it adds some really great depth. I like the way the lighting on her head and upper area seem to match the lighting of the environment more than the photo she's stepping out of too. My only suggestion would be the light halo area around her hair. Sometimes to clean up the masking manually on hair like that if needed, I'll clip a multiply layer to it and darken those light fly away bits to blend it in with the hair and background a bit more, if that makes sense. Though I think a little bit of it could be an interesting effect, like a bit of a rim light. Really great work here!
(edit: I saw you cleaned up the hair, looks good! I do notice that the black of the background is darker than the black of her hair, it could look good to boost her dark tones to match the contrast of the scene)
Feedback from any and all appreciated! First time doing a "dispersion" type effect.. couple areas need some more refining, but yard work calls. Sigh...

Today's Challenge. Thought I would do something different to the Skateboarder. This is a photo taken at our local ice hockey game by son.
Basic error I'm sure, but I'm struggling to open the work file provided. I've eventually got it open but there is only the skater layer present. Where am I missing a step here please?
@young karma This might be more suited for the #❓ask-a-question section, but you're only seeing one layer total? They should both be there, you'll just have to turn off one layer to see the other
@dull pawn Looking good! The metallic effect came out really well on this, those deep shadows work really well for this challenge. Masking looks good as well! A bit of a gradient in the background could be nice to add a little more sense of depth. Well done!
@dull pawn Ahh, really great image for this challenge, nicely done! I like how it fits in another player and background image to the scene, but at the same time it throws the perspective off a bit. I think it might be interesting to try selecting the whole ground plane of the ice including the second player and everything above the yellow line and doing content aware fill, to make the ice consistent looking across the whole phone screen. I think that would really make the two perspective match, but that just depends on the look you're shooting for. Also it might help to soften the edge of the mask ever so slightly on the far end to match the blur of the photo. These are really just nitpicks but I figured I'd mention them if you want to push it any further. Great image!
@zinc elbow Nicely done! You added the rubber ducky on this one? This fits together seamlessly, color and lighting is spot on. This image works really well too, the perspectives match nicely and the way the focus is drawn to the foreground works really well to make the duck the focal point. Reflection looks great too!
@ruby panther Great concept with this one Shawn! I love how the lighting of the background image and whale image seem to match so well. The way it breaks the frame of the phone looks really nice too. I'd personally recommend scaling the whale up a bit, as much as you can and still maintain a natural look with this effect. It's the focal point and subject of this image but it's so small that It doesn't have quite the impact I think it could if it was a bit bigger. Great job!
@pliant geyser Super cool effect! Really digging that texture and debris. It could be nice to add a bit of a glow behind the trooper to separate them from the background and also draw the eye more towards their head. Might help balance out the intense contrast of the glow around his chest. I think boosting the brightness and saturation of the reflection on the desk might help too since it's such an intense light. This is great!
ok, thanks. Didn't see the ask a question section either, sorry. Maybe I shouldn't be playing with pictures with such shoddy observation skills, lol.
@young karma No problem! The software takes some getting used to, it's never seems obvious at first, hah.
@bleak fossil Thank you so much for that mate, I will go back into it and try and do what you have suggested 🙂

Gilded Objects
Went for something totally different as I wasn't having luck finding a mobile photo I liked.
I also used the started file too. Went great until the deleting of the reflection with the mask/brush. I don't know what I keep doing wrong. I had the group, mask and brush selected on black but nothing disappeared so I went for this instead.

@bleak fossil OK, who gets to critique Sam's post??? Sam I think its a cool image. A bit of StarWars Princess Leia look.
@lethal mural joins the chat. First Sam, now Jesus. Whats going on today????
I'm not sure I understood the idea of perspective correctly 🤷♀️
Hello, this is my first challenge. Gilded dog
@thorny scroll how do you get that flare lighting effect?
Here we go then. Today's offering.
Summer2020
Challenge 02
Hi 😁 My Day 1 🤓
@sterile galleon Actually your 1st DCC image also fits with 2nd challenge 🙂
PSDCC #2 Play with Perspective
#DailyChallenge1
Day 2 Challenge
Playing with perspective by @lethal mural . I wantto know how to place a shadow in front. Think it´ll work better
Day 2 Challenge
Challenge 2
firsy day
@ivory socket, very nice effect, Ralf! Welcome to our community, it’s great to have you here! I believe you got the shadows and highlights inverted on the model. You can choose the invert option on the apply image dialog box like Jesús did on the stream. If that’s the effect you are going for, of course 🙂
@rotund vortex Good job! How did you made the colourful effect on the ground? 🙂
imagine going through reddit and then this guy pops out of your phone ^^ day two
Cool composition @turbid jolt! I like how everything seems to be made from a shining material. My only suggestion is to increase a bit the contrast on the gold effect to enhance the shining and the saturated look like the other elements. Here's a quick demonstration of what I mean. Nicely done!
@eternal mica wow nice job, Ted! Did you use a blend mode to create the effect around the edge? Well done!
@ripe peak Loved the glow you added to the model, it really enhances the shining effect on the composition. Great job!
@lavish venture Wow Loved the bird, Emer, impressive work. If you want, since the bird is a little distant from the ground, you might apply a subtle gaussian blur on the reflection, it will enhance the impression that it's really flying and match the shadows near it 🙂
Gave +1 Creative Carma to @eternal mica
Challenge2
@ripe peak Loved the glow you added to the model, it really enhances the shining effect on the composition. Great job!
@coral stone Thanks for your feedback, that was the idea.👍
@coral stone Thank you so much, i sincerely appreciate that. I did, I used an outer glow and an inner glow and I set the outer glow on hard mix. And I also applied it to the skater reflection. I wanted it all to match the coloring in the reflection on the table that existed before the image add
Gave +1 Creative Carma to @coral stone
@delicate flint Good job on your day 2! I like how you played with the perspective positioning different elements in different grounds. My only suggestion is to make the shadow on the same direction as the player so they can look like they have the same light source. 😉
@pale grail I loved the water splashes you added, great job! If you want the reflection on the water to have that distorted look you can select the reflection layer > go to filter > distort > ripple; Then choose a size and an amount that feels nice for the reflection. This will help to increase the realistic impression of your composition. Awesome work!
Day 2
Challenge#2: Perspective
@coral stone thank you! 😀
Gave +1 Creative Carma to @coral stone
Cool Job, @young karma! Are you going for the hologram look? If so, you can use a hue/saturation adjustment layer with the colorize option checked move the hue untill you find the cyan/blue color that the hologram usually has. Nicely done, Lince 🙂
@daring dock Good job on creating and atmosphere for the composition! I wonder if you could increase the scale of the subject a little more. Compared to the table he seems to be smaller than it. You did a great job blending the clouds to get a foggy look 💯
Lovely work @eternal parrot! Nice job with the overlaps and the notification layout! I like how you added some shadow to it creating a great sense of depth. Nicely done!
Challenge #2 Photo asset izabelle-acheson-EdYRvyJaon4-unsplash
@tardy ridge very creative images choice! I loved how you played using the desk object to create the effect that she is really tiny! Great job!
@viral mirage very creative work on your day 2! I like the advertisement feel of it hah. If you want, you can create a shadow below her feet so the effect could be more realistic. It can be just a subtle contact shadow between the ground and her feet 😉
@sturdy vault very nice gold effect! I loved the metallic metallic look, great job!
@autumn crescent cool effect! I like how you did the effect like he is really coming from the phone to the surface. If you want you can apply a subtle motion blur to create a movement effect on him. Nicely done!
Super cute @uneven flume! I loved how you played with different colors and added a glow to the elements. I also like the colorful background! 🙂
Thanks @coral stone i appreciate your feedback and try to improve my design according to your guidance
Gave +1 Creative Carma to @coral stone
Very nice @unborn rock! I like how the dog seems to be jumping straight into the phone. Great job on the shadow 💯
No problem @sturdy briar! Just a shot hah: If you want to create kind of an interaction effect you can position her on the shadow area and play make like she is jumping out of the book through a magic portal (you can use some shapes, glows to create the effect, the sky is the limit) 😉
Gave +1 Creative Carma to @coral stone
@coral stone Thanks.
Nice job on the backgound @craggy steppe! I also like how the dog has some textures, well done!
Great job playing with perspective @young karma. I loved your image!
@young karma wow! Great job playing with the scale on your work! My only suggestion would be to add some distortions on the bottle reflection on the water, you can use the model's as a guide. Very nice job!
Challenge 2
@sterile galleon well done in both of them. Loved how you applied the metallic look on the model’s reflection on the water, looks awesome! About your day 2, my only suggestion is that since the left foot is touching the groundm naturally it would have a contact between it and its reflection. To achieve that you might play with some warp on the reflection to position it. If you have trouble with the warp you can separate the reflected foot on a different layer and place it where it's touching the ground and blend it with a layer mask. Feel free to tag me on #❓ask-a-question if you need any help. Nicely done, Sasha 😉
@hidden flame Great job on the effect! I like the bronze metallic look it has!
@kind ibex maybe use content aware fill to fill the gap on the iPad top right as we look at? Otherwise superb! Love it.
@tidal bloom you know i totally missed that! Thanks i'll fix it.
@tame breach I loved the roller skate composition! Nice job on the reflections 🙂
Wow @tacit condor very nice job! I like how the splashes look like a portal from the phone world to the “real world” If you want you can use a soft brush and a layer mask to create a smooth transition from the water and the splashes. Also you might apply some water drops on this area as well 😉
@restive wyvern Good job on your day 1! I like the intensity of the gold effect on your first version!
Great job @thorn geyser! My only suggestion would be to apply a gaussian blur on the shadows. Since they are not touching the ground the edges tend to look a little bit blurred. Loved the turtle, nicely done! 🐢
Thank you 😁
challenge 2
@arctic rover very nice job, Jude! My only thought is to add a reflection of the model on the ground since she is near the edge 😉
Challenge #1 Metallic butterfly. Might make a nice necklace?
Hmmm, does the perspective work?
PSDailyChallenge5.12
@rapid pier that is fantastic! Well done. Love it!

@sturdy vault I like how you colored his shoe as if he stepped on the painting
@ivory jackal thanks. I thought it would add to the image.

@muted coral I like the idea of your image and it is very nice. I would probably add a little shadow to the dancer because everything else in the image has a shadow with the light coming from the left.

Day 2! Any suggestions/improvements?
@lime cedar This thread is from the current challenge which runs from the 11th to 22nd. If you want to do things from older challenges, please post to the "past-challenge" thread
@coral stone wow that does look much better, thank you so much appreciate it.

@lavish venture Looks pretty good. I think the vanishing point is converging a little faster on the river banks than on the geese though. On your goose layer, go to edit/transform and look for perspective. Now bring the top handles in closer together. that will make them appear to get smaller as they go further away from you. It doesn't need much (and you may like this better). but you never know until you try 🙂

Daily Challenge 200513 - Pop-out Perspective
Day 2 - Perspective
@cold oyster Love it!!! I almost didn't notice the woman in the top of the hourglass right off the bat.... really creative! Only suggestion I can make it maybe make the "sands" dropping through the hour glass continue on the right side a bit as well... looks a wee bit disjointed there, but overall, SUPER JOB!
@young karma Excellent job with the colour grading! Well done!
@wispy compass your work looks fantastic!
@young karma thank you ...I appreciate your feedback! 😋

Day 2 challenge
Hi all, here's my work on todays challenge Title : How did that get on my iPad! Images from Pexels.
@tacit condor You really nailed this effect EMx, well done! The color, contrast, and metal effect are all working really well, and the background definitely helps it pop with all that color contrast. Well done 👍
@rapid pier Really nice work putting all these images together! The lighting seems to match very nicely. Really nice job masking the fur as well, great work!
@sturdy vault Hah, I like it! I think half the fun with these challenges is just going for it. I like what you did with the paint on the feet and the splatter. My only thought it might be good to have his face in focus as the face is usually the focal point. Though I like the idea of getting a little depth in there with the blurred focus. Very cool!
@still blade This turned out great, really nice work! The snow particles breaking the frame give some really great dimension and the effect looks very nice. It looks like you blurred the edges of the rectangle on the screen of the phone to match the focus on the picture which is looking really good. Great job with this challenge!
@primal fulcrum Really cool Sig! I like the subtlety of the hand breaking the frame, though it could be nice to push that effect even further, perhaps if the top of the head broke out of the frame just a touch? Really nice concept, looks good!
@young karma Really cool concept, the perspective seems to match quite well! The cast shadow on the paper looks really good and adds some nice dimension. Seeing the skater's reflection in the water the same way we see the buildings could be a nice touch. Nice work!
@wispy compass Very nice! The masking of the swan is looking great, and the way it breaks the frame is really nice. I love how the lighting seems to match extremely well too. my only suggestion would be that I think the reflection of the swan would appear below it, and the hard edge in the top left of the phone screen between the water's surface and the black area could be blended a bit more. Maybe with content aware fill? Really great design!
@jolly kite Really cool Div! Seems like this could be the concept for a 4k TV or something, hah. The effect of the horse breaking the frame is working really well! My only thought is the whole image seems a bit dark, perhaps a levels adjustment to boost the lights could help, or even brightening the background image in the TV screen to make the horse contrast even more and give a strong focal point to the image. Nicely done!
@midnight sinew These are great! I love the effect with the dinosaur! It could be nice to give a really subtle glow effect from the TV screen behind the dinosaur's head to separate it slightly from the dark background. With the elephants it may work nicely to blur the back end of the elephants a bit to match the focal and blur of the background image across the phone.. Just some thoughts! These came out really well, great work on the masking. The elephant image has some really great color contrast too that makes it pop very well 😄
@hollow yarrow Looks great Franck! Finding the right image can definitely be tricky sometimes. The lighting of the scene and dancer match very nicely, and the reflection looks great. My only suggestion is that the spotlight effect seems a bit abrupt, as if we might see a bit more of a gradual fade into the darkness, but that's a bit of a nitpick. Solid work!
@regal mica Love this one! Some really great depth in this, I like how her arm even seems to go around the back of the ipad. This is a but of a subtle thing, but I think increasing the dancer's contrast a bit, specifically by deepening the darks with a levels adjustment would help her better match the contrast of the image. I notice the background image goes deeper into the darks than she does which makes her appear a little out of place and slightly washed out. It might also help her be a stronger focal point. Really nice work on this, the masking is looking really good!
@bleak fossil thanks for your feedback Sam - was really trying to make the two images look like they belonged together but I always find this difficult - do you think this looks any better - it's quite subtle i think.

hey, new here! so day one was gilded items, day 2 was perspective... is the day 3 challenge out? I can't find it
Perspective Challenge. Sometimes I go out on a photo shoot for the daily challenge. I found it humerus to make my phone the subject of interest on today's hike.
Reason: Mass mention
@vale gale A really good idea
@brazen mango this is very creative
@vernal ice I am not too sure, about the blue(ocean) line on the edge, perhaps would be more realistic if you romove it
thank s @bleak fossil

Play with perspective. Did my best here but something seems to be missing. Execution? Choice of photos? Well, there will always be another challenge ...
My challenge 2 entry
Day 2 - Play with Perspective. I tried my best. Not perfect. The phone seems like floating...it's to obvious that it's not a real image.
Challenge - 2
PSdcc #2 fun with CNtower + Rogers centre Toronto
this is my version of perspective
@bold oxide Awesome!
Day 2, play with perpective. Comments welcom.
@south adder would it be better if the back ends of the skis were taken away to give a better impression of the skier jumping out of the phone? This is just my immediate reaction. To me it looks as if the skier is sliding down the phone rather than jumping out of it. Just my opinion.
Gave +1 Creative Carma to @barren ice
@south adder I actually like the way he appears to be sliding out of the phone - the back end of the skis connects it to the old image in the phone whilst he’s bursting in to the new one.

Day 2, enjoy life guys!
@bleak fossil Thanks, I debated about the blur. I also read other comments for others and many said add motion blur so I did. I prefer no blur.
@south adder V2 way better than V1. In V1 it looks like the phone is out of place instead of the skier. V2 I like the overall lighting and the perspective of the ship looks great
@south pine Im not sure anyone answered you yet. The challenges get released one at a time each weekday morning @ 8:00 AM PDT on the Behance web page. The Live broadcast starts @9:00 AM PDT (unless Jesus' mic isnt working, then it starts a little later, but its worth waiting for.)
@primal fulcrum Really cool Sig! I like the subtlety of the hand breaking the frame, though it could be nice to push that effect even further, perhaps if the top of the head broke out of the frame just a touch? Really nice concept, looks good!
@bleak fossil Good idea. I think I went too subtle
Day 1: Gilded Notorious RBG Workout trophy. Her stability ball gives it a reverse Atlas vibe.
@vernal ice Looks like he is wearing a jock strap LOL
@grim granite very nice effect! My only suggestion is to add some shadow between her feet and the ground to feel more realistic. You can aslo create a cast shadow, using the one from the flower as reference 🙂
Cool work @vernal ice, my only suggestion is to try to increase the contrast on the model's clothes to match a little more the other areas and create more depth to the composition. Well done, Melis
@brazen mango loved your work! My only suggestion would be since there is some light coming from his left you might position the shadow on the right instead of the left. For that you might increase the bottom part of you canvas, if the background image allows it, of course. If don't, you can try the content aware fill to see if you get some results 🙂
@vale gale how cuteee! Loved your work. My only thought would be to smooth the edge of the water, since the cup and the elements edges seems to be a little bluried. Great job!
@left abyss great job! I loved how you managed the shadow, impressive work!
@young karma woww very nice concept! Just a suggestion, you might try to apply some fire coming from the dragon and make some glow on the person to see how it looks 😄
@last lark lovely work! If you want the phone to look like it's actually on the ground, you can apply with some occlusion shadow. It's a shadow of contact between the ground and the phone where the light does not reach, it's darker than the cast shadow.
@queen dew cool job combining the images with same perspective, Paul! If you want you might reduce the scale of the head since how far an element is, smaller it will look. Unless you wanted to play with some scale, of course 😉
Great concept on your day 2 @south adder!
I like where this is going @sturdy briar! Cool work!
@inland kiln wow, Pat, very impressive work! I loved how you managed the reflection on looking sharper on the notebook surface and a little bluried on the desk surface. Amazing!
@young karma Great job on the overlap! Loved how one foot is on the surface and the other still is inside the phone, it creates a great sense of depth. 💯
@sand lichen very nice, Jillian. Looks like you have a line from the original picture, you can easily remove it by selecting the layer > add a layer mask > paint with black on the line area.
Solid work!
I agree with you@bleak fossil... It was 1 AM when I decided to stop work on this... I think my eyes were alredady in my bed 🥱... Thanks for the feedback... I'll try to work faster on the next challenge to be able to see what I do before posting 😉
@bleak fossil thank you fir your feedback, I noticed the dark edge after I posted the picture...I tried to correct it later and now the perspective is off...i put the reflection of the swan in there but maybe it’s on the wrong side of the phone? I continue to work on it...👍

What is "Creative Carma"?
@rapid pier Discord has a Bot that checks all of our posts. It can censor you if you say a bad word (and once mine got censored and I have no idea why), It can issue warnings if you posted something it didn't like, and it will give you basically a high five when you participate and help someone and they say thanks, or posting a gif response (as far as I can tell anyway)

DCC - here is my try on day 2 challenge!
I decided to try the challenge, so I'm a couple of days late...playing catch-up.
Readys for portrait? lol
I was sick yesterday and spent most of it in bed. So I got a start on DCC#2 this morning. Here is what I managed to put together in a short span. Since I already had my football players clipped out, it was just a matter of finding a suitable location for them to pop out. Decided on the Justice Palace in Quebec City.
Didn't really understand what i was doing, but it was easy to follow and the result i think is pretty good!!

its rare seeing @bleak fossil do a challenge 😅 how kool
Tried to figure out how to put his hand in his face. I thought someone lost at the same point as mine was that the curvature pen tool has to select "intersect" mode.
I am so surprised about the new things I've learnt today! Even a small tip (like the split option in the warp tool, or the alt+masking in camera raw) it's so useful! Thanks a lot, I'm so happy you're doing that 🙂

Artistic Spin
@twilit shore I love the artistic spin!!! Great job!
I ran into a problem when I tried to make a smart object using the group and the portrait 1 later. It clipped the portrait layer. So here is my results without converting to smart object. I will do one with some photos that I have this afternoon!
@lethal mural Thank you very much for commenting on my work. It is greatly appreciated.

Hello everyone I am slow getting to my projects but I am working on them. I hurt my shoulder working with a drench digger putting in ground sprinklers at my parents house. So I am slow getting to work on my computer. Also have trouble with my battery pack doesn't want to make connection with my Macbook Pro and patiently waiting to order a new power pack for it. But here is my first project. #💎past-challenge. I like to have this added to the art gallery and I am not sure what hashtag is for this.
@fallen pebble If you were trying to make it a grayscale image you could still do so by creating a hue/saturation adjustment layer above all your layers and turning the saturation down to 0. If you're stuck on a certain step feel free to post it in the #❓ask-a-question section and tag me and I can check it out a bit later.
@daring dock I like how you were able to do the effect in color. When I tried it with mine, I couldn't get the hands to match the tone of my face. Great job.
@bleak fossil no, it was after we had made the hands a smart object, then a few steps later, we were supposed to combine the group that contained the hands and the portrait 1 layer into another smart object. But that just clipped them all into the shape of the face.
@twilit shore i simply use hue and saturation and clip it with the layer of hands and slightly adjust the colors
Sticking with the Star Wars theme for this week....
this was a stock photo and not good quality. She had a lot of green on her. I didn't make a smart object of anything. I mostly used blend modes, a clipping mask, and lots of clone tool and painting on the green to remove. And distort and warp
@twilit shore I had to use different blend modes to get the colors to match. The hands were from a white person, so I had to also use curves to bring down the colors
Perspective done good
@coral stone Hello Valdair, thx for your feedback. I scaled down the head like you said. My choice would be the one with the large head 😉

This was a fun challenge. I did a little different take on the activity though. I used my foster pups photo and a sugar skull photo. Had to use the warp tool to get the mask to fit a dogs contour but I think it turned out pretty well. On a side note, Jango is available for adoption 😋

Day 3 DCC - Surreal Portrait.
DCC5 03 200514 #2 During lunch this afternoon I was thinking over how much I enjoyed today's DCC. So I said who else can I make a Surrealistic Portrait of.
D2 Perspective ..I borrowed Adobe shiny surface
And here is my challenge 2 also. I catch you guys! 🙂
Nice blending @pliant geyser! Feels like a movie poster. Great job!
Nice job @primal fulcrum! If you want to play a little bit with global adjustments, you can create a color lookup, photo filter or even a gradient map adjustment layers to unify the colors into a mood. Nicely done!
Wow @brisk ingot I loved how subtle your day 2 effect is. Very creative, great job!
Haha that’s the spirit @tropic knoll! Your day 3 looks great! Keep going!
Very impressive work @foggy iris! I loved your image choice for the texture and how you masked the sunglasses, the mouth and especially the hair area. 💯
challenge 3 surreal portrait
Great colors @kind stag! I loved the blue tint that you added. Nicely done!
Very nice @fallen pebble this could be a great technique to create textures with unconventional images for composites. Amazing job!
@zealous halo Great work on the day 3! I loved how the texture on the background and the vignette add a dramatic effect to the image. Super cool job!
Nice job @soft maple I can see that you increase the contrast of the overall image, creating a cool effect on the image 🙂 My only suggestion is to brighten up just a bit the shadow on the left eye, so you can recover some details in this area 😉
@green loom super creative work, Ayaka! I loved how the subject is interacting with the fire. My only suggestion is that you might place his left foot on the phone surface here 👇 so it will look like one foot is on the surface and the other is on the fire. Nicely done
Very nice @sand lichen! I like that the light vignette matches the lights on the face, I also like how there is some grain on the image creating a nice texture. Well done!
Well done @young karma The colors worked really great with the effect!
@thorn geyser super cool work! I loved the reference, amazing! 👁️
@daring dock Loved the combination of the images and the effect, really feels like a image quote or even a movie poster, the font that you chose works very nice as well. Great job!
@strong lake wow loved that you added a background and played with some color with the image. Just a nitpick hah you can use the Select & Mask sliders to remove the halo around the edges and try the Refine Edge on the hair to see how it looks, you can also experiment the Decontaminate colors option. Great job! 💯
Oh no @broken whale I hope you feel better soon 🙂 You can post your work on Behance and under the Discoverability menu insert the PSdailychallenge tag. This will allow your work to be easily discovered among the community! Loved your day 1 work and super cute dog on the day 2! My only suggestion would be adding some reflections on the table. Nicely done!
My day 2
@cold oyster WOW! Loved the dark atmosphere of your work, awesome job!
Very creative @plain sable! My only suggestion would be adding a contact shadow between the bottles and the table. It can be super subtle and you can use the original one as a reference! You did a great job removing the original vase 💯
Wow @steel ore Very nice concept on your work! I love how the dark shadows on the fingers, the blending and the color creates a great atmosphere to the composition! Super cool job!
Good job @chilly hawk! My only suggestion would be to apply some gaussian blur, to the reflection, you can use the other reflections as a guide to choose the radius amount. Nicely done!
Very nice @tropic haven The vibrant colors creates an interesting effect that contrasts really well against the black and white background, I also like how it affects the highlights of the hair. Did you use a blend mode for that? 🙂
@sacred field Well done, Marc! I like how you added some color to enhance the mood for the effect! 🙂
Great job @rapid pier! I loved Jango, how cute! Impressive work using the warp tool to get the contour right! 💯
thanks @peak sentinel the goat just wanted to be free 🙂
Gave +1 Creative Carma to @peak sentinel
Awesome blending @worn yew, looks awesome! If you want to push it further, you can play with Liquify to make the ups and downs of the skin (I don’t know if this is the correct terminology but I hope you understand 😅 ) this will add some dimension to your work. Amazing job, Tunc!
Thanks @coral stone I got the idea 🙂
Gave +1 Creative Carma to @coral stone
Nice edits @cerulean beacon! My only suggestion for the day 1 is to crop the bottom part of the background so the edges can feel more natural 🙂 , like this:
Challenge #2 Perspective. Should I have made my subject larger?
Well, Day 3 is finally finish
Thanks @coral stone for the input. Tried to add more shadow but I'm not sure I got it...
Gave +1 Creative Carma to @coral stone
No problem @plain sable :)
I made a super quick demonstration of what I mean. The process is: I selected the bottom part of the bottle and then duplicated with ctrl+J > Then I created a layer between the bottle and the part I duplicated and with a small brush (size like 8px and hardness of 30%) started painting on the bottom area to create the occlusion shadow (The occlusion shadow is where the light does not reach). If the shadow is too strong you can use the opacity on the layer. You can also play with gaussian blur, blend modes (usually multiply) and the flow of your brush (using a low flow helps you build the shadow slowly). Creating shadows is a lot of fine tuning, see what works, taking breaks... but it's worth it 😄
I made a video because the GIF format has a limitation of colors making the shadow hard to see 🙂

Surreal Challenge
my challenge one
@coral stone ,thank you for your feedback, yes I did use blending mode for the look. For me, it’s an open mind experience as I find it’s hard to appreciate a strange look . Maybe that’s why I tried to make it less scary to me.😊
Challenge #3 Portrait. Are the hands too subtle? 🤔
Day 3!
@young karma You definitely pushed the surreal aspect of this piece, nicely done! The colors, proportions, eyes, and white wispy area around the nose all give it a subtle surreal look which is really cool. Love the dramatic shadow from the hat and the gradient into bright pink. Really cool!
@worthy salmon Very nice! The blending of the hands especially around the jaw line is looking really natural. Some really nice deep contrast which works really well with these black and white images. Nice job!
@daring dock Really liking the bold color take on this challenge! The bold orange and red give this image a really upbeat feel. The hand effect is looking good! I feel like perhaps the contrast of the hands could be boosted to draw more attention to effect, but at the same time the light contrast kind of suits the rest of the image. Very nice!
@eternal mica Wow, really cool concept for this challenge! Looks great. The coloration and nature of the photos give this a really strong mood and feel. The second image almost looks like a projection as if an old film or pictures are being flipped through. Powerful image, nicely done.
@jolly kite Very nice Div, this is a really cool take on the surreal challenge! The 3 different repeating elements of the skulls gives this image a nice unity to it. Nice work with the compositing!
@hollow yarrow Nicely done Franck! I really like the color tone to this one, gives it an interesting feel. I like how the hand effect is really visible but doesn't detract away from the contrast of the eyes and face. Looks good!
@pastel spade Hah, great to see another one by you! Looks good, I like how cleanly the hair overlaps the hand effect 👍
@regal mica I know that feeling, but it's always great practice to try these challenges with your own photos and this came out really well! The masking on the hair is perfect, and the blurred background really draws the eye to the portrait. Great lighting too, this one has a great feel to it!
@stable ravine This effect came out well! I like the touch of color in this one too. The lighting and vignette looks good!
@young karma Oooh, loving the extra design you did for this challenge! The hand effect came out really well and this surreal landscape is really cool. Really liking the more muted colors and the sandy/rocky texture on the hands looks great!
@forest aspen Looking good on Day 2 and Day 3 Marie! Both these effects turned out great, and I like the warm tint to the hand effect photo. Really liking the bold colors of Day 2 also. I think it might look good to slightly blur the reflection in the table for Day 2. That reflection looks too perfect like it's in glass, but a shiny wooden table would likely look a bit more blurred, though that's just a minor suggestion. Nice work!
@eternal parrot Loving this effect! The multiple hands idea works really well and adds a lot of interest to the image. Really liking the text treatment too. Very cool, looks great!
@winter tinsel Really cool, I like the concept for this one! The water splash effect looks good too. I think making it bigger would definitely be nice to really try and make it more of a focal point. Maybe a tighter crop could help that too? Nice work 😄
@sterile tinsel Really interesting mix between photo and illustrated elements here! It could be nice to continue those illustrated lines into the shirt or even background designs to really tie those aspects together. Just a thought. The masking looks great in this, nice work 👍
@bleak fossil thank you for your feedback😊
Gave +1 Creative Carma to @bleak fossil
@lost zenith Hah, I think the more you do these the more they make sense, but the main one here was the masking of a second image along with another blending more. But this turned out great! Effect is looking really solid, nicely done!
@modern halo Interesting effect with the lighter hands on the darker faces, really creates a lot of contrast. I feel like a subtle vignette could be interesting on this image to slowly draw that focus into the face from the sides. Cool effect!
@south adder Really nice Neil, this effect turned out great! Really nice natural blend between the hands and the face. Some really great clarity and contrast to the photos as well. I like the pop of color on the background, looks good!
@plain sable Ooh, really great concept with this! Some really nice contrast with the blue against the paper as well. It could be nice to see the goat break the frame of the paper at the top even more, and get some value separation between the dark goats head and dark desk to make the whole thing read more clearly. Really nice work with this one!
@mild solar This effect turned out really nicely Brady! Really great deep contrast to the photos as well. I feel like perhaps the contrast of the hands could be boosted a bit near the fingertips in terms of the dark tones, but that's super subtle and really just personal preference. Awesome work!
@compact pecan I really like the depth of the different elements coming out of the phone. Some really great color and value contrast against the background, really makes this image pop. Reflection is looking solid too, very nice!
@pale grail Hah, very nice! Definitely a cool effect. My only suggestion is I think it could help to boost the contrast (specifically the darks) in the eyes and facial features. They seem to have gotten a bit washed out and currently the hair seems to be the greatest source of contrast. Increasing the darks of the facial features would really help strengthen the focal point of this image. Really nice job!
@peak sentinel Loving the concept of this one Drew! The perspective is perfect for this image, and the concept of the animated character walking into reality is really cool. I think adding a bit of a drop shadow below the character on the laptop could be a really great touch to really push the effect even further. Nicely done!
@inland elm Nice work! It looks like the hand on the left side could use some more contrast to be more visible, unless you intentionally removed it to change up the effect of course. I like the subtle tint of color to this, looks good!
@last lark Really great contrast against the white background in this challenge! Gives it a really strong silhouette. The hand effect is looking really solid too, well done 👍
@twilit shore Very nice, I like the interesting graphic shape created by the second version with just the hands, very cool! I think a subtle gradient on the background of that one could be a nice look. Nice job on these!
@foggy iris Really great texture and contrast! Definitely a surreal feel to this portrait. I like how the texture lines of the face are sort of mirrored by the lines in the wall. Really cool!
@orchid steeple Nice work! I think a little value adjustment to focus attention into the face a bit more could help. Maybe a vignette around the outside and a bit of a boost of the light tones on the face with a masked levels adjustment layer or color dodge layer using a soft brush? Maybe something like this? The hand effect came out well!

PS Dailychallenge. Day 3 - Surreal Portrait
Challenge 3. Didn't want to use the hands
Surreal Portrait
Challenge 3 Surreal Portrait @lethal mural Thanks😍
Nice edits @cerulean beacon! My only suggestion for the day 1 is to crop the bottom part of the background so the edges can feel more natural 🙂 , like this:
@coral stone Thanks you 🙂 thanks for the comments.
Challenge 3.
Can anyone tell me how to link the layers of the second day "Play with Perspective"? When I try to open the photo, PS asks me to relink both files, but there is only one file that contains two layers.
I still can not remove the watermark on the image of each challenge 🤔 🤔 help please 🙂
@grave thorn & @cerulean beacon The files are Adobe stock images. When you open them they ask to relink because Jesus bought them. You can purchase them from Adobe stock and the watermark will be removed.
Surreal Portrait
Thanks, @ruby panther, so how do I relink them? That was my question.
Gave +1 Creative Carma to @ruby panther
@grave thorn Go to Adobe Stock and search with the image number and you can purchase it and it will show up in your library.
haha, OK, I'll pass. Thanks, @ruby panther .

I wanted to try something other than hands so used hair and then went crazy with it
Here's my Day 3. Liked the eerie green. What do you think?
Bit of a combination, any idea on how to clear the Adobe watermark?
@brisk flower I think you have to purchase the image from Adobe Stock. If you scroll back up these comments I think there is more information on this.
@hollow yarrow wow! Really nice
Thanks @pastel spade yours is great too!👌
Well, Day 3 is finally finish
@eternal parrot Yours is really Awesome! Well Done!💯

Don't panic @south pine No time restriction... You can even post one or two days late... No deadline, just fun.
But if you want to follow all challenges, it's a good idea to finish one before the new starts.
New challenge every day at 9 AM pacific time.

@daring dock beautiful day 3 project. the thumbnail doesnt do it justice. Opening the full file is powerful. good job.
@hollow yarrow very Carrie look, I thought my computer screen was going to burst into flames. Your masking by the hair of the fingers is so perfect. The eyes and lips jump out of the image.
@atomic echo Sam, that is the best critique Ive gotten since I joined the DCC. Thanks so much. Ive learned so much in the past 8 weeks. The video presenters, the chat moderators, and each of the participants in Discord chat have given me so much I cannot say thank you enough. Im having a ton of fun!!!

@cerulean beacon You have to BUY it to remove it. Just use with the watermark or use your own images
how many more hours to we have for day 3 challenge to be closed? @hollow yarrow
@south pine you can do the challenges at any time. This challenge series runs from the 11th to the 22nd. You can post any of them here within that time frame. After the 24th, if you want to do them, just post them to past-challenges. You do not have to do everyone or do them on the day they were shown.
@queen pine It would look more believable if you brought the alien skin back further onto the human and gently blended it it. Just a thought.
@young karma I like how the hair goes over the hands. Nice job
Day 3 tough challenge but fun
@foggy iris very nice work
@calm bane so subtle and so powerful. very good job. what would you think about coloring in the eyes?
Surreal Portrait tempted to take it further but think it will lose some impact
@thorny scroll very well done. the shadows and texture are great.
@cerulean beacon nice concept and execution. Is baby overlay a bit too subtle? maybe increase shading a drop

so far, so good #3 psdcc , still working on the color version
behance.net/gallery/97162011/Surreal-Portrait
@thin spade You don't need to put it on behance and link it here. Just upload the photo here. (It takes up a lot less room on the thread). If you click on any uploaded images, you see them larger. Then from there you have the ability to view the original at full size so no need to put the URL in. and for behance, make a cover for the whole challenge and put all of them into one project. that way the mods can find it (provided of course that you added the #psdailychallenge under discoverability)
@primal fulcrum ok, thank you. Im new here, 🙂

@tacit condor Love the way you colourized the eyes. Really makes them pop!

Hi @open kettle you can post your portfolio link on the #💡portfolio-reviews channel 🙂
Looking very nice @trail field. The texture and the overlay created an interesting drawing effect on the hands and increased the contrast making the colors more intense. Good job!
@young karma Nice job, elroy! My only suggestion is to brighten a biy the overall image, this will enhance the vignette and help to build the focal point on her 🙂
@tame jacinth beautiful effect, Lore. I like how the drawing seems to blend on the face, nicely done!
@covert loom Well done! I like the blue tint and the vignette that you created. Also the grain gives a special touch for a texture, great job!
@calm bane Loved how the colors contrasts really well with the black and white. The accessories and the buttefly seems to pop more creating a very interesting effect! Lovely job, Nadia!
@delicate flint I like how the person's hands seems to create a great concept with the hands effect on the face. Great job!
Updated Darth Maul.. finger over the face and colourized the raised ghostly hands in front...
@young karma very nice job trying different elements. Your work reminds me like an album cover or a cool poster. 💯
@barren ice loved the green! It creates a very nice mood to the effect and works really well with the vignette!
@thorny scroll wowwww super cool, Anna! I like how you put different parts of the wall on the face and on the neck, it gives a great depth to your image, nicely done!
@brisk flower Nice job, Matt! I like how you combined the challenges and put it a perspective. About the watermark, it is what @barren ice said, but feel free to play with your own images and some free stock photos 😉
Gave 1 Creative Carma to Sally (current: #218 - 2)
Lovely work @midnight sinew! I loved how you you blended the skull to the subject face. I also like that the Black and White version enhances even more the depth of the effect. Great job!
Very nice concept on this one, @cerulean beacon 🙂
Super creative @queen pine! In addition to Sig's feedback, you can use a brush with low flow on the layer mask to create the transition from the human to alien skin, awesome job!
Gave 1 Creative Carma to Sig (current: #38 - 16)
That's my contribution 🙂 Wasn't centered well to start with (there's a gap between my hands) but kinda happy with the overall result.

Day 3 challange
@primal fulcrum ok, thank you. Im new here, 🙂
@thin spade If you need help figuring out how to use Behance, just ask or go back and rewatch the first day. I think Jesus went over at least some of it. Paul went over it in his first day and I think Kalhdi did too. Try looking at videos from the first day on the challenges. I know some of them went into detail. Or just ask here LOL

@tame breach I like the placement of the hand over the eye area... Lets the eye show through underneath nicely!
hey guys. can any one tell me the #tag of behance for photoshop daily challenge
#PSdailychallenge
I worked on it again, do you find it better?
@queen pine Not bad, but under his jawline where the black fades is a bit rough. Might I suggest you redo the mask - use the gradient tool, fading to transparent to make it super smooth.
Tks @sterile galleon !
@south pine until forever. Its on video any time you want to watch. Jesus finishes the live broadcast at appx 12:25.

Been a bit swamped with work and other obligations but trying to catch up on this challenge and the last couple from the last one this weekend. Here is my Goldfish. it needs some work.
DAY 3 - Surreal Selfie. Definitely Surreal!! Not too happy with how this has come out, the Tulip isn't as defined as I'd hoped. I'll keep trying with other things. Love the idea of the challenge though.
Took the idea a bit further added a little Dali, not sure its an improvement though
A bit behind.

Self-Destruction Frame! My Ch-4.
@worn yew are not just holding up a mirror? 🤭
@lavish venture Haha no way 🙂
I needed to use larger files for this one but I got through it. This is fun and challenging for me as I don't know most of the features used in these tutorials. I just switched to full Photoshop. I have been using PS Elements for quite a few years now.
can someone give me specific steps on PSDAILYCHALLENGE 5-15. Jesus moved rather quickly during the layer mask part. I am on a MAC. He said to CMND click the invisible layer and make a mask, but I am not allowed to make a mask with 2 layers selected. I would love and appreciate some help.

@trail field ummm? The challenge was to make the guy invisible but leave his clothes in the shot.

@sterile tinsel you can group layers and make a mask on a group. You can also go over to YouTube and rewatch at any time. They are all recorded. I watch the lives when I can so I can chat or ask questions. But to do the challenge, I go from the recording so I can stop it or rewind it when needed. I can also put it at full screen if I can't tell what tool he pressed.
Happy how the shirt turned out. helmet and knee pad could prob use more work
This is my challenge 3 self portrait entry with a few blending modes in play.. Would love to hear feedback

@safe ledge You played everything well but the reflection on the notebook does not make sense in any way... Maybe just remove it & it will be a great composition 👍
Self-Destruction Frame! My Ch-4.
@worn yew Awesome work 👌
DAY 3 - Surreal Selfie. Definitely Surreal!! Not too happy with how this has come out, the Tulip isn't as defined as I'd hoped. I'll keep trying with other things. Love the idea of the challenge though.
@zinc elbow At the first look, the tulip is not even visible..... maybe make it a little larger & use pop color (ur subject remains black & white while the background has its original colors)..... u could keep the stem green
Took the idea a bit further added a little Dali, not sure its an improvement though
@inland kiln Great work
@stiff grovejust following along on the tutorial which added a reflection but I get it.
@shrewd imp I feel the composition & ur very idea of the image is very amazing but still I don't know why it does not satisfy me... U can move the subject a bit lower.... apply gaussian blur on the distant areas of the image...match ur subject's colors with the surroundings... & apply camera raw filter on the final image
@stiff grove yeah the composition feels very pedestrian
I left it as is though because i figured tony hawks photographer probably knows what they are doing haha
@stiff grove Thanks

@brazen egret I really like the texture and colors of your work. The only thing maybe you can work a bit more on the edges. Because it seems your design needs space from the edges more.

@lavish venture yes sure
I wasn't happy with the background, but I finished the skateboarder and here he is. Now I am going to go find a football player to turn invisible!

@eternal mica at first that is what I thought but you can see the door frame lines up and doubtful there would be another door to be reflected and aligned.
Golden statue challenge. I decided to keep the water so that the reflection would work.
@fair wagon that is actually a very cool image with the water gold.
thanks!
PS Daily Challenge Day 4. 5.15.20
@worn yew Interesting work there... I'm guessing you took a picture of the room, then a second with you holding a picture/mirror frame... Then masked out the middle of the mirror to let the ceiling/wall/shelf show through. Interesting way of approaching the challenge. I think many people here are underestimating what you've done by thinking you're just holding a mirror. If it was a mirror, you'd be able to see the camera and whatever else was reflecting in it!!!
D3 Surreal Portrait..I feel the hands are not well visible..input appreciated
@pliant geyser Huh. Finally somebody got the way how I did it thank you 🙂 You can get from door line, lamp, and some other details that it's not a mirror actually. But I didn't get as "underestimating" actually. It's always great to hear feedbacks from people. Maybe if it's looking like a mirror, next time I need to add more elements at the frame border so people can understand it's not a mirror clearly. Thanks again 🙂

Ok! Decided on a disappearing coach instead of a disappearing football player!
Here is the before
Challenge 4
day four!
I went full tilt surreal.
Reason: Mass mention
#✂challenges-feedback #3 Again a day behind...
Surreal Portrait 1 - I add noise filter a little because I want to make it feel....different world ? (well Idk how to say😅 )
Surreal Portrait2 - also I add more things such as flowers, can you tell me if it's correct as Surreal Portrait ? because when I searched up, ppl use different objects. so I thought it's basically okay to use any objects
Here’s my Before.... Twi’Lek from Star Wars... got it from a desktop wallpaper site...
And here’s my after... lots of cut, paste, draw... did the heavy lifting on my desktop, finished on my iPad... love that whole draw on the screen thing....
DCC Day 4 (image Unsplash)- struggled with the tops of the shoes. I guess having a second picture with those details may have been better.. Any suggestions or feedback appreciated 🙂
Dad watches concert Dutch singer Jannes during son's wedding (Challenge 2)
It never gets old making things gold! I can't seem to stop 😆
No problem at all @odd gull! Really like how you played with some colors on your day 3, nice job!
Wow @eternal mica this must have been a really challenging work. Great job recreating the background and the t-shirt 💯
@sacred field very nice job on your day 4!
@sterile tinsel This looks really nice, I loved how you kept the consistency of the branches. My only suggestion is to refine a bit the right hand area (his left), it looks a little blurred, you can easily fix this using the clone stamp tool. Awesome work, Steven!
Very interesting effect @cerulean steppe! I like the emerald color on the eyes. Good job!
@cold oyster Super cute! I loved how the pop up effect worked great on both images! My only suggestion is that you might adjust the transparency of his hand to enhance the natural look of the effect. 🙂
Looks super nice @tacit condor. The accessories really enhances the invisibility effect, great job!
This turned out great @thorn geyser! You did a great job on the masking. If you want, you can complete the effect on the bottom right side of the pyramid! You are doing an awesome challenge!
@fallen pebble very nice! The window on the background looks so realistic. My only point of feedback would be to refine the legs area you can use the clone stamp tool to keep the lines more consistent by picking a sample nearby and aligned it on the areas that they are missing.
Great job @stable ravine! I loved how you blended the grass and put the shorts under the right perspective. Nicely done!
@coral stone Thank you!
Gave +1 Creative Carma to @coral stone
Super cool @young karma! I really like how you removed the elements, especially the head, I bet this was a little tricky, wasn’t it? This turned out really great. My only teeny-tiny suggestion is to refine a little bit more this area near the hand and the handrail near the foot. You can easily adjust by using the clone stamp tool. You did an awesome work!
@arctic rover haha very nice! I loved how you played with some colors and combined different images. It’s like a quadruple exposure 😆
No problem @grim oasis, you got this! I loved how you played with some overlaps on your day 1, the gold effect looks pretty nice especially on the fur. The player on your day 2 looks very good as well, my only suggestion would be to let this area 👇 a bit sharper, you can use the phone as a reference. This will help to increase the realistic effect of your composition.
Nicely done on the day 3 as well, I can see that you also played with some overlaps and the black & white really gives a dramatic feel to it. If you want you might increase the brightness of your background a bit, so it will have a contrast against the subject and the shape from above. Great works! 💯
@steel ore I love how you kept the consistency of the shirt after removing the head and the hands. Good job!
@foggy iris very nice job on the head removal, I also like how you masked the sunglasses. Nicely done, Dalv!
@green loom I loved both versions, they turned out really great! The noise and the vignette created a great finishing touch for your surreal portrait 1, and the different images on your portrait number 2 looks very consistent. I like how you managed the contrast of them really well! Great job!
Another great job @pliant geyser! Loved how you took care of every single detail of the effect, amazing!
Very nice @ocean pine! The way that you replaced the legs and built the tops of the shoes made it look pretty realistic, well done!
Day 4! Definitely going to do more with the invisibility effect
Looks great @young karma, I bet he is wearing a 3D glasses hah! Super well done!
Awesome job on the hat the the shirt @mossy prism! The shadows and the inside part looks great!
Thanks @coral stone , I wanted to give up multiple times saying it is too hard. I am glad I stuck with it.

Day 3 - Surreal Portrait
Here's my work from yesterday's challenge. Any idea why I ended up with that white outline in a few places, and is there any way to fix it easily now or do I need to do the whole thing again? Thanks! Cc @coral stone @lethal mural
Gave +1 Creative Carma to @coral stone
Hi @molten trail I believe that might be a halo from the layer mask, can you DM me the .psd file or a screenshot of your layers for me to check? If it is what I am thinking you can remove it by refining the layer mask or even with the spot healing brush on a new layer and with Sample All Layers checked on the top bar.

Day 4: Invisible didn't work so well for me. I tried two or three before I did this skateboarder. I don't think it's very good, but it was better than the others . . . Boarder and city from Pixabay.

@ocean pine Your shoes turned out pretty well. Only thing I might suggest is that the blacks you chose for the inside of the tongue are a little too stark. Maybe take a photo of your own shoes in a similar position and compare?
Great job @stable ravine! I loved how you blended the grass and put the shorts under the right perspective. Nicely done!
@coral stone Thank you!
I'm doing these challenges to learn, first time doing this kinda stuff with photoshop. Challenge 3
@chilly hawk Nice! Only thing I think would make it "that" much better would be putting his tail feathers and branch inside the phone frame.
@round geode Not bad all in all -- Only suggestion is to clean up the masks a bit around the feathers of the wings - you can see a white halo that looks misplaced around them... But, good job!
@forest aspen Not bad at all. The face is off - maybe make it a darker red... and the hand between the legs should be transparent.. Otherwise, well done!

@young karma Wow I think you've really made great job. Just if I zoom in to the part where lady sat on, I notice some repeated patterns of the bed. Maybe if you get sample from different part of the bed and clone there, it will solve this little problem 🙂
@ruby panther Haha I thought it's a bright oil painting at first sight. Did you apply a filter on whole composition? It gives an effect of Caravaggio's paintings 🙂 I wonder what if you keep the lady's earrings in your composition also. Really well done !
@jolly kite Wow! I think normally it's hard to match with some sketch painting and photograph in same composition. But in your case it's really well done. Good job! 👏
Thanks @worn yew I applied a 24 pixel blur and camera raw +1 stop exposure and set the blending mode to Soft light to get that effect.

A day behind but I made 3 images for day 2, I would love to hear your thoughts behance.net/gallery/97192227/Photoshop-Daily-Creative-Challenge
@oblique sinew just post your results here so we can see them. Use Behance to make a project for the whole challenge and put all of the images into that. Or if you want a portfolio review, please post this to the portfolio review thread. You can see any image here larger by clicking on it and from there you will get an option to see it full sized.
Invisible Effect🙀
@jolly kite Love this idea. Great job
@young karma Nailed it! great job
@primal fulcrum - Thanks
@young karma extraordinary! 👏👏👏
@eager lintel Thanks
@young karma Oooh, loving the extra design you did for this challenge! The hand effect came out really well and this surreal landscape is really cool. Really liking the more muted colors and the sandy/rocky texture on the hands looks great!
@bleak fossil -- Thanks
hi guys, a question, how to hashtag the project once I upload it?
@sterile galleon you don't need to do that here. In Behance you make a project for the entire challenge. You might want to make a cover image for it - usually has the words PS Daily Challenge and the dates. It needs to be roughly 810 by 635 px. Then you will get the page where it asks the software, categories and a tab for discoverability. THAT is where you type in #psdailychallenge
Surreal-Portrait, feedback is welcome 😉
@young karma the ends of the arms don't really work for me. Maybe a fade would be better. I would use a gradient with black to transparent on the mask to blend it in gently
Challenge 4
@young karma Very nice! i like the story
Day 4 - Invisible Objects
Couldn't live with only making the girl invisible.. So just added the universe to her 😄 challenge 4

Gave +1 Creative Carma to @primal fulcrum

Isn't the current challenge supposed to be on right now?

Challenge 3 - Surreal Portrait
Are there other discord servers for photography generally?
Are there other discord servers for photography generally?
@south pine For the most part they seem to be divided according to the Adobe program. I stumbled upon a live stream one day from the Netherlands and got an invite to that channel but it is for using PS to "paint" from scratch (not using filters or the mixer brush on a photo)
This was more challenging than I expected. she had her arms raised enough to cause me to reconstruct the edges of the sleeves. The there was the stethoscope to deal with. Hopefully it looks ok. I used part of a sleeve from another pose and the neckline came from a piece of a scrub online. Used field blur and blends on bg
The walking red dress!
