My Day 3(Might need to add some texture)
Day 5 - In the books!
Finally found a name - Flowers to follow
Day 5 ✅
Hi @sterile bane . Thank you for your advice. I made the top leaves a bit lighter so that they don't get lost in the maroon color. It is much better. Let me know what you think of it?
Gave +1 Creative Carma to Kathleen
Yes, i agree! Much better! And it makes the design feel more delicate.
@young karma very nice!!!
Finally done with my day 5 challenge hope yu'll like it😊 . Feedback welcomed
im only at say 2... hope to catch up faster
Im tempted to put stars in the background now. The textures look pretty cool
Day 5 Fallen Flower Petals
Loving the puppet warp tool.
@young karma I really like your Day 5. Well done.
@outer roost Totally dig your bokeh poster. Love the vibrant reds!
@pulsar walrus I like the green version, myself. 🙂
@sacred aspen I like the colors you used on this poster a lot!
Day 5 plant composite
I loved the font @prisma raven! What name is it?
Combined the Silver Dollar pods with lily of the Valley
Here's my first go on the poster for day 5. I'm having a hard time deciding on the background color... 😅 For now I'll stick with the yellow
Forgot to warp/use puppet warp, will try that tomorrow and maybe also change the background color
@coral stone I think it is Lust, but I'm not sure... 🤔
@fringe thicket Those leaves are just waiting for puppet warp 👌
@wind jolt Yeah, you're right, they are 😆 They'll have to wait until tomorrow
@coral stone chronos serif!
Thanks @prisma raven and @fringe thicket 😃
Gave +1 Creative Carma to Chocolita
-giverep @prisma raven
Gave 1 Creative Carma to Jeff Bauer (current: #90 - 1)
Out of my comfort zone for this one
@high mesa This looks like a beautiful Rorschach!
@stark swan - no, just pattern making; but its the teddy bear that has appeared in the centre which makes me weep
@pulsar walrus I like the first one, the one with the blue background
#5 Feedback always welcome.
@prisma raven, I really like this. I like the combination of plants you chose.
@queen onyx I love the colors you chose and the flowers.. The frame colors fit in beautifully with the design.
@pulsar walrus I guess it depends on the mood you were going for. They both look good just different moods.
Hi everyone, I'm having a bit of difficulty with the white flowers here. What's the best way to do this? Thanks!
@wind jolt I love your title.
Day 5 poster, would love some feedbacks, thanks!
Day 5 - Composite Plants 😬
@onyx rock. I like your composition, 1 plant spliced together.
@tall warren what would it look like if you brought your branches together to make it look more like one plant.
@sturdy vault thanks ! 😃
Gave +1 Creative Carma to pfordie
@blazing lily. Interesting composite. Creative. Love how the colors fit together.
I used photographs of vintage embroidery to create a completely made-up floral embroidery. This is exciting. I am really seeing potential in this workflow - to both create new pattern and transform vintage textile into brand new composition.
@sturdy vault love what you created for day 5
Thank you@raven atlas I appreciate your encouraging words very much. I am having so much fun learning and meeting other creative people.
Gave +1 Creative Carma to Ess
Alright. So I decided to make my own drawings for this. Hopefully I pulled it off. I'm curious what anyone things of this subject matter wise or compositionally or whateverilly. I'm not sure it will stay this way, but for now it is what it is. The only thing I don't really like is that I didn't get to use the puppet mask which was suuuper cool. So I'll have to try that with something else.
Thank you @spark wharf . you are very kind.
Gave +1 Creative Carma to Michele
@MP I love your picture and love the creativity of your project. Keep going with that idea.
@wispy fjord that’s such a cool idea ! Looks great!
I know its late, but here is my day 5!
Hello Guys this is day 5 feel free to leave your feedback on this 😊
Day 5
Hey guys can anyone give me feedback on my plant composite?😁
Submission day 5: Botanical composition! I know too vintage! 😅
jump to day challenge of 5 hehe
day 5 entry
@spark wharf thanks! ^_^
Gave +1 Creative Carma to Michele
@tall warren - great work, they only thing I would say, is look at the gap on the left between the border and the branch and look at the right side; the balance is slightly offset. Maybe use the puppet tool to raise the stem so there is a similar sized gap?
@high mesa thank you! I will try that ☺
Gave +1 Creative Carma to Mykul
Day 4 poster - will catch up tomorrow with day 5.
Day 5.
I love what you all did with this challenge!! Great to see all these great designs 😃 I added another challenge for myself these 9 challenges, keep working with the same image. Seeing the title yesterday I wasn't sure how to go about this. I hope I passed this one....
day 5 challenge 😃
@sturdy vault Thankyou
Day 5 - Composite plants
Thank you @coral stone !
Gave +1 Creative Carma to Valdair Leonardo
😀
@exotic raptor I actually LOVE the vintage feel of your poster. 😊
@young karma tthis is so lovely ❤
@young karma this one is so beautiful ❤
@fair wedge wonderful effort, This looks so sophisticated and nice ❤
@young karma I used the same branch image. 😃 I really like the layout of this one.
thanks @frozen junco the branch is a stunning image
Gave +1 Creative Carma to tlkativ
thank you @orchid plank
@pulsar walrus your green version is very nicely done! It is organic and have a beautiful color combination 👍🏻 Well done.
Hey friends, here's my submission for Day 5
Gave +1 Creative Carma to Nidz
Thank you @young karma
Gave +1 Creative Carma to Mina
@orchid plank thanks i love roses 🌹
I thought Kathleenius needed a bit of colour, 2nd version
woa haha
😃
This is my fake plant. I would love if anyone had feedback on it.
@modest nimbus Export to JPG if you can. 😊
Sorry, here is the jpeg
Day 1 😀
@modest nimbus move the plant closer to the name and center vertically. Nice plant! Maybe even try a color border to make it pop a lottle more.
Good morning everyone a little bit late but here is N# 4
Original picture
grass was a pain to moved.
@small copper nice
You did a good job @wicked nexus ! There is only a tiny bit of green glow at the bottom part maybe selective colour adjustment layer can help with that? I love the composition, its " a gift" 🙂
@wicked nexus Fun! Well done.
@spark wharf 😆 thanks trying to share my passion of cats!
Gave +1 Creative Carma to Michele
@tulip fern Ill try next time! thanks.
@wicked nexus aah - lovely kitty, well done!
@fair wedge I really like the peacefullness your poster conveys. Well done.
hello all - i had such fun with yesterday's challenge! went out, picked and pressed some flowers ... and voila!
and as you can see i also had a play with the amazing anna daviscourt's floral brushes ... just in time for this!
Thanks guys I almost forgot this its with paper like background
Beautiful work @hearty wharf!
@coral stone hi valdair, thanks so much for feedback!😃
Gave +1 Creative Carma to Valdair Leonardo
My day 4 poster with the boyfriend as a victim for this challenge this time hahaha
Day 5 - composite plant. This was a difficult one for me - I wanted to stay with my theme of using elements only found in the area in which I live. Unfortunately, finding suitable plant elements proved almost impossible. I finally settled on a combination of heather and the sunflower (which do grow around here) and a plant from the adobe stock library.
DAY 2 - Will be waiting for the feedback🙂
@young karma really nice composition!
@fair wedge Thanks!
Gave +1 Creative Carma to Anna A
@small copper very cool
sweet! Thank you so much!@spark wharf
Gave +1 Creative Carma to Michele
I'm between projects at work right now so I figured I would get some more exercise on PS so I made the Eiffel...flower 😃
@young karma That's nice, I like how you've made it look like it's all coming from the root. Whats up the side? It looks like longitude/latitude.
@quick trout That's very cool!
thank you @exotic raptor
Gave +1 Creative Carma to vec07
love the tropical feel @fringe thicket
My workflow in a large part was improvised, and for a second time this week the renumbering was a issue .... 😖
Here is my contribution to Day 5 of the Photoshop Challenge. This was fun!
As always, all constructive feedback welcome.
https://www.behance.net/gallery/82684637/PS-DCC-Poster-A-Day
... and one with just a dark background.
@quick trout it looks so cool I wish I can see it bigger what is your behance !?
@quick trout very nice!!!!
@young karma love the colours!
@quick trout Fantastic Idea !
@glad parcelM I like the way it looks like one element. Very nice.
Day #5 just a mock scientific study
@hearty wharf
Thank you. I thought Should offer an alternative.
Gave +1 Creative Carma to Tan_2019
@quick trout
That is an absolutely fantastic piece of art! It's only when I opened it up that I realise what you did!
Brilliant! Well done!
@young karma woah! your botanical design is totally believable and has a great movement to it. nice!!!
Here is mine
Botanic bee
this name sounds like a perfume 😆
surpricing as it look but i drew the little purple flower
@magic rampart thanks! It is the longitude and latitude coordinates. All of my posters use elements gathered from this region in which I live so I put the coordinates in the poster - sort of like a travel advertisement
Gave +1 Creative Carma to Jmada
Trying to do these around my day job, this one felt a bit rushed, but hope you like my giant flowers (at least I hope I got the perspective right for giant flowers )
@young karma - I would only use the one bird, not two. Great work!
I finished the weekend challenge! Still have catching up to do, but I'm finally feeling better.
@quick trout OMG! LOving it ❤
@white temple glad you are feeling better, great pic!
Thanks, @hearty wharf !
Gave +1 Creative Carma to Tan_2019
finally finished. loved this challange
Day 3 was hard for me. Wondering if I should change the black to dark grey so that the paper texture comes through better.
Really hard to come up with an idea for Day 4 but I'm happy with the results. I wasn't able to mask the leg out from in front of the text so I just erased. Wondering if that is a limitation with working with live text, or just user error. 😅
Day 6 😁
Day 6 - Distort an image
i didn't get day 5... what does a botanical design mean?
Day 5: Botanical Poster. I 💙 the Puppet Warp Tool!
day 5
I can post stuff here for feedback that isn't the design challenge right? ;0
Just making sure, I obviously don't utilize the discord chat here. But I would like to
what can you utilize from that chat?
Feedback of course.
oh so.... im sure no one would be mad for you asking for feedback in a feedback chat
I'd love a separate chat for things not daily challenge related. I feel like this chat gets used mainly for the daily challenges and I don't want to disrupt the flow with something off topic.
For any moderators listening^
Here is my Day 6!
Hi @elfin helm, you can use the #💬chat-general tab 😃
Thank you so much!
I'll do that. I know it can be a hassle to make multiple categories.
sorry if im rude...
Are you rude? Lol - I'm just trying to get direction. I got some help so I'll be on my way. Thank you Vald
that looks real good! why did you delete it!
Update, here is a new version with added distortion and placing part of the photo behind the lace
@hasty coral My dark side is loving this but my light side is creeped out. My brain doesn't know what to make of it other than I love it because it is moving me.
Day 6 / Liquify 😀
Day 6 is here!
I didn't have a chance to watch the full challenge video, but I tried to still follow the prompt. Definitely had to use the transform tools to make this image!
where do i find the starter images for day 5 and todays
Day 6 - liquify poster
challenge 6
@orchid plank Thank you so much!! 😃
Gave +1 Creative Carma to Nidz
@silk wind hah! i love how you warped the graphic shape and have the imagery interacting with it
@raven atlas Thank you so much! 😃
@thick vale this is AWESOME!!!! ❤
@wicked nexus Here is my behance portfolio: https://www.behance.net/Hannah_Seibert I don't have all of the challenges up because I just started on yesterday's since I was bored at work lol but I will have some more up soon!
😀
@white temple loving the whole vibe of yours bubllegum colors plus shes blowing bubblegum it works so well!
Catching up again - dealing with some depression issues the last few days... I did some work on my day 4 image.. @raven atlas mentioned the highlights on the hair and feet looked a bit strong - I agree, thank you! Now working on days 5 and 6..
Gave +1 Creative Carma to Ess
@quick trout It looks good, I really like your color palleted
@young karma I love this so so much.
Gave +1 Creative Carma to Hannah
@quick trout Thank you so much! 💕
Sorry I haven’t done day 6 yet!
@sturdy vault lol ummmm thanks i guess. 🤷
Gave +1 Creative Carma to pfordie
@sacred aspen nice job 👌
Okay. I know I need to work on the mask around the subject. The lace over the eyes is bothering me. What in the world is missing from it? (Just noticed I need to change 05 to 06. Ooops.)
Little Change😃
@spark wharf it's looking great - but maybe you could cut the eyes out so it looks more like a mask than a tattoo? very cool though, i thought you might go for something knitted!
Day 5... I used some graphic elements I had on hand (purchased at Renderosity) to make this playful plant. I'd plant a garden if I could grow a few of these... Feedback welcome.
Hi @sacred aspen I am a fan of the photo collage and the "Melt" versions. For anything that involves type I would say revisit it from different angles. Did you use the liquify tool in photoshop to distort this font? If so try have 3 other versions to see your results.
@hearty wharf Ha! You would think I would go for something more knitted but I couldn't find anything I liked. I was going for more of a eye covering than mask or tattoo. I see I missed the mark there. Maybe I will try to cut out the eyes for a mask look. That is a good idea. I'm going to think about that for a bit. Thank you!
Gave +1 Creative Carma to Tan_2019
@spark wharf yes, knitting is hard - i thought of scanning something, but i haven't got anything good enough!
@sterile bane thank you, i was in a hurry cause your live here is at 6 in the evening, im working to 5 and I have a ticket to 7 for a movie 🙃
Gave +1 Creative Carma to Kathleen
@timid pasture Did you mean to intentionally do an homage to the victorian era? If not, you should research it and I think you'll find a lot to love 🙃 ! This design is very much Art Nouveau , try finding fonts of that time period to give this piece a stronger historic sensibility.
3rd time posted after deleting. Keep noticing bits to fix.
@young karma the doors on the floor!!! Wow, imagination is your strong suit!💯
@runic pendant Very elegant, love the b&w airy vibe
@vale socket Thanks! I LOVE art Nouveau (worships at the altar of Mucha 😉). I'll see what other fonts I have (1000's) or maybe google it and see what I can find. 👍
Gave +1 Creative Carma to CynLagos
@fallow bough i like it a lot - but it looks rather dangerous. will they fit trough??
@hearty wharf Imagined it as just starting to break through. I had a version with it fully open and it made the bike look like it behind the break instead of coming through.
Original bits
@fallow bough yep, i get it - it's a very strong bike! thanks for sharing the original stuff - very cool what you've done with it
Gave +1 Creative Carma to Ken Cawley
Looks great @fallow bough ! It has a lot of movement and tension. I like it a lot!
No break through here but a break out of the oil lamp.
@vale socket i actually uses the wave distort! I didn’t even consider the liquify effect but now I’m interested to see how that would look, so I’m gonna give a try when I get home today
@fallow bough I love that you used fencing instead of the lace, I was trying to think of something as cool as the lace idea
@spark wharf maybe if you remove some of the lace from the eyebrows and the eyes and pinch it (with the liquify tool) on the bridge of the nose and in the corner of the eyes that might help to get a better feel of the lace being layered on her face?
This is way edgier than my usual work. While I often think that I know as much or more about PS than the presenters, there is always the chance I'll learn a new way to do something, and I generally end up with work out of my comfort zone. That's a good thing for any artist.
PS Daily Challenge #5 - Plants
Day 6 - Struggled with this one a bit. Not sure my photo subject fits with the technique, but gave it a shot. Thoughts on the title?!?
Day 3 Soon going to catch challenges faster.🙂
Day 06 liquify lace
Took a photo of this tiny (half a thumb size) fella many years ago in the Cotswolds (UK). Applied a honeycomb-ish pattern to it. Maybe it could be more visible?
Liquify! My new favorite filter! Thanks again, @sterile bane
Gave +1 Creative Carma to Kathleen
Today's work. I really wanted to do pixel strerching when i saw the description, but then then i saw the live and the great idea with lace patterns, so i had to make both of them 😄
Catching up on Day 3 😅
DAY 4- Waiting for feedback🙄
dont stretch the pic, change the outline
@small copper Cool texture effects! I like them. I also am a fan of the colour choices in this poster as well as the composition. One thing I might suggest is to take a look at your layer with the woman on it as she looks a bit squished/distorted. Other than that it looks cool.
Day 4: Is the border too bright being white? And is there too much texture in the background? 😅 💜
when does the next challenge come out? what time zone?
@dawn mountain No, I like it how it is! The white looks good. I think the texture is fine too. Good colour scheme. 😃
@runic pendant I believe they're 9AM PST.
tnx!
Thank you for suggested day 4 changes @tribal oak , @trail rose , @zinc lava
Gave +1 Creative Carma to Panashe
DAY TWO ))))
Day 5 Mix and match plants images to create a botanical design
@queen flower that looks awesome! do you want some feedback?
yes
@sick flame Thanks for the feedback🙂
Gave +1 Creative Carma to cavi
i think that it can help the piece to have a little more shadows but it looks real good! keep it up!
with1
Hey everybody, here is my day 6
I like the option 1 with the vase @woeful storm 😃
I have done the following under the photo little shadow .. give any feedback ...@runic pendant
@scenic forge this looks good for a moment I did not realise that there was an eye peeking through 😀
thank you @zinc lava 😄
Here's my day 6... Lovely Tempestt was rendered in DAZ Studio. BG from Unsplash. I used 2 layers for the lace curtains so I could get each side positiond with her hands properly with the liquify filter (I love liquify!). I made a solid color layer above the lace and clipped it to the lace layer. I made a new layer above that to paint the light / dark areas on the lace, and clipped it to the lace layer as well. I duplicated the lace layer, added a mask of Tempestt, and used multiply and a bit of liquify for the lace shadow on her body. Feedback welcome.
Gave +1 Creative Carma to Panashe
Day 4
Hi, Here is my post. DAY 6. Please give me advice!!
@severe flame
My advice to you? Keep doing what you're doing! That's brilliant!
@coral stone thanks for feedback.
Gave +1 Creative Carma to Valdair Leonardo
@raven atlas sure!! thank you for reply.
Gave +1 Creative Carma to Ess
Here's my contribution to Day 6 of the Photoshop Challenge... I always wanted. to do something like this! Thank you, @glacial path, for giving me the link to those videos. The Liquify tool is da bomb!
As always, all constructive feedback welcome.
Gave +1 Creative Carma to evil
@raven atlas ooooooh! nicely done!
@raven atlas to take the poster to the next level, I think you could adjust the background so it matches the foreground more closely 😃
Not sure about the lace color
The Camera Raw Filter has a color temperature slider - it should do the trick 😃
@glacial path
I'm on it!
awesome!
@uncut valley the lace color looks fine but the background is a bit off. maybe you can pick a contrast-y color to complement the warm tones of the birds 😃
@granite goblet nice detail with the L 😃
@severe flame lol! What a great idea 😄 I wish you would add something in the background. could be a subtle texture or another photo 😃
@harsh helm I like the look with the off color shadows and the yellow stripes! you should try out different blending modes or you could reduce the fill (not opacity) to play with the effect 😉
Day 6 distort image
@glacial path
Altered as suggested... and it really made a difference. The contrast between the background and the foreground isn't so stark.
Thanks again.
Gave +1 Creative Carma to evil
Here is Day 4. Any suggestions welcome. Maybe it needs some text advertising a concert.
Not a huge fan, but Day 6 is in the books!
@raven atlas Pretty cool effect with the hat and musical graphics. That liquify tool is one of my favorites, you can do some amazing effects with it.
day 5
@timid pasture
Thanks a lot!
I'll certainly be using Liquify a Lot more, now!
Actually, I've learned so much in a very short space of time. Didn't realise making a brush pattern was so darned easy! That's how I did the musical notes. I already had an idea how powerful layer masking was... just didn't realise how powerful!
Gave +1 Creative Carma to RodS
@glacial path Yeah it definitely does need more experimentation. I am hoping to fix it up when I manage to catch up 😅 I plan to anyways cause it could use a bit more tweaks or editing. I was playing around with some blending modes earlier, there definitely potential to work a few of the others into it so I will keep working on it. Thank you for the feedback.
Gave +1 Creative Carma to evil
@raven atlas Yeah, brushes are easy to make, and it's always a blast just playing with them, and seeing what you can do with them. And yes, Liquify is awesome. Don't know if you saw my Day 6 post, but the liquify tool made positioning the lace curtains a breeze. Good stuff. I've been using PS for a long time, but still learning new stuff all the time - which these challenges are great for!
Feed back please. Breaking out.
@timid pasture
Oh wow! That is really nice! It's as if the netting was really there and she was really holding them apart! You know the best part? It's not what you use; it's how you use it. You did it very well.
Very nice work!
@digital pollen Nice job creating the mesh. This is very intriguing.
@hearty wharf Here's one where the biker takes advantage of gap in fence. Not as realistic looking but will do.
Well, it's way past my shut-eye time. Goodnight, y'all!
Really excited about Day 7.
Almost caught up. Here's Day 5. 🌻
I am going for the romance novel look. Victorian lace and mysterious sideway glance.
@digital pollen amazing work!
Concheta...its a bit experimental
@fallow bough I loved your poster! ❤
You can use the warp (ctrl + T > right click > warp) if you want to warp the fence's pieces a little more 😃
@tall warren Really loving those muted colors! I like the way you balanced the visual weight of the image, it works well. If possible, I'd try to separate the tallest flower from the background a bit more, currently the values kind of blend together and the right side loses a bit of visual weight as a result. I think that small tweak would help. Nice work :D
@onyx rock Wow, very nice! Very cohesive and illustrated feel to this. Are these photos that you applied a more illustrated filter to? Very nice feel to in this image.
@wispy fjord That's really cool! Did you mesh together different original images to create that design? Well done. It all fits together very nicely. I feel like the text could read better at a glance. Perhaps increasing the contrast between the text and the background could help a bit.
@raven atlas Thank you for the kind words! It was a lot of fun putting that together. I'll try to make the livestream (for a change) for Day 7. Wonder what @sterile bane has up her sleeve for this one! 😁
Gave +1 Creative Carma to Ess
@bleak fossil Thanks Sam! Yes I agree, I was having a hard time getting rid of the white background since the white flowers' color is so close to it, so I just used the multiply blending. Is there a good way to get rid of the white background in my case? Thank you again!
Gave +1 Creative Carma to SamPetersonArt
Nice, I use multiply all the time. Have you tried the quick select too?
If the contrast is enough it should be able to select just the white
Yes I tried the quick select, but because the two colors are too similar, it's not picking up :/ I'll try change the contrast then select, maybe that will help 😄
Had a great idea from @vale socket about finding a more Victorian style font. I googled it, and found a few nice ones - this was one of my favorites. What do you think? 😉
Day 5 challenge. I couldn't think of a bouquet to make, so I threw this together instead.....
Hey guys !😀 I just completed the photoshop challenge Day 6 Should I add something into the background of the subject to give my image another interesting element? Like how Kathleen did her image with the number 7 in the upper left corner?🤔
Oh man, trust me I tried my best on this one. Hopefully I won't use transform or puppet warp on such difficult things as plants, haha.
Did I just forget to change the number...it is number 05. 🤦
day 5 challenge give me feedback
@queen flower cool concept! love the idea.
one thing I would suggest is to make the little V shape at the top the same weight/thickness as the triangle at the bottom. Maybe add some colour to the word Hydrangea if you want. Looks good this way tho!
Day 6 🔴
Day 6 done.
Very cool @sick flame ! Pleasing to my eyes 😃 The only thing that I can think of tweaking is changing the poster number to the same tint of grey as you have in the upper right. Unless of course you want it to stick out from the rest.
@woeful storm - awesome image; let's open the debate who thinks the hat should sit inside the border cropped underneath it or as it is, sitting above? Its all about taste I am outside the border as it is!
I realy love your poster @queen flower . Especially the contrast of forms is super cool! The soft round flows of the flower against the hard square graphic elements.
I vote for outside @high mesa and indeed a great creation @woeful storm !
@sacred aspen - wow!
@digital pollen Loving it. The colors and the look and feel of this is awesome ❤
Day 6.
Not getting Idea What i do with this pattern :(:weary:
This is my entry for Day 6
another day six!
@unreal helm - Its cool like the minimal approach
day 6 challenge, any feedback will be greatly appreciated guys 😏
Poster 5! Let me know what you think!
Color scheme may bit a bit much???
Day 6 - Distort a photo … 😬 not really happy about it but at some point you have to move on
I liked my idea but struggled to convey it 😕
DAY 5 Waiting for the feedback
shape is a bit loco )))))))))
@bleak fossil thank you for your comments about the Day 5 flowers. I agree about the text. The flowers were from pictures of actual embroideries that I have collected.
Gave +1 Creative Carma to SamPetersonArt
@wind jolt I think the movement of the lace works very well. You might consider playing around with the insect a bit.
@ruby panther I think the color scheme could be o.k. Consider changing the color on the guy's t-shirt. From a distance, his head is the most visible and it takes a while to figure out he has a body.
@sick flame I like the thoughtfulness of your subject. The red/white color works well too.
@high mesa no, you’re awesome. 😊 Thanks for the feedback
Gave +1 Creative Carma to Mykul
@tulip fern thanks for the feedback
Day 6 - Distort a photo
@young karma I like how the frame matches the rose and the red on her lips. Great job!
Day 6, this was fun, but realised I keep gravitating towards film things, think I need to get out more 😂
Found Day 6 a bit difficult. Used the warp tool and some other techniques from earlier challenges.
Gave +1 Creative Carma to Valdair Leonardo
@digital niche haha yes, but it says something about the waves in the summer, plus I really dig the dimension you added with the shadows. I would say the word "Summer" in that stark black is a bit out of place. Maybe try a complimentary color to the rest of your palette.
@onyx rock I know that feeling of needing to move on from a piece. But if we learn anything is that nothing is ever final.psd so see this as progress. I personally like the distortion and the color palette you put together.

@fallow bough I like what you did there. Very nice. 😊
Day 6 Challenge - I enjoyed working with the liquify tool.
@magic rampart That looks awesome!
@queen onyx Thank you 😊

Day 6 Challenge.
PS Daily Challenge #6 - comments and critique is welcome!
hello all, here is my day 6 ... liquify galore!
A bit late but trying to get in today's challenge, follow my last days to feedback.
Fully agree 👌 @young karma
DAy 6
Hi everyone, Here is my day 4 submission.
Hi guys 😃 here is my Day 5 😃
Day 6 challenge
@magic rampart - hey don't ever put yourself down for your style, if u like film gear, great. I like women, my wife has to bolt the door! So it is each to their own.
@vale socket thanks for your input !! I might get back to it later and add a texture or something to see if it reads better
Gave +1 Creative Carma to CynLagos
Here's my second poster for day 5 (working on Day 6 poster and I hope to catch up tonight). This one is more subtle in colors and composition than my first one I think. Also I forgot to use puppet warp on the first one, but obviously used it here 😆 The difference in quality/resolution between the flowers and the branch adds to the surreal feel I wanted to achieve, I hope I succeeded in that.
Would like to get feedback
Daily Challenge Poster #6
Played around with cutting out the eyes. I am not sure how I feel about it. Thoughts?
@amber crystal I love the vibrant blues ya got in your day 5

Here is my invented plant. This really helped with my masking practice, and puppet warp.
@uncut ginkgo I see you're the KING haha Welcome 😄
I really like it. @blissful badge
ha! hi Michele - hope you're having a great day
Yes, sir. Thanks. 😄
Need Day 7 sto start o I can stop tweaking bits on Day 6.
Day 6: First Draft. Would love to hear #feedback with this. Thank you!
Day 6: Second version with this. I'm questioning the "focal point" in this piece because of all the patterns. Would appreciate #feedback!
@lilac minnow I am a big fan of pattern. That being said, maybe take the opacity way down of the blue flowers in the top, fade to white at the bottom and leave the image to stand on it's own. Great image, btw. Maybe even try the red from the tat as the bkg just barely there.
the cut isn’t very clean
@lilac minnow nice work. how did you put that tattoo on her face?
It doesn’t look like it’s underwater.
@dav okay. Thanks I'll update it
Day 7. Went a slightly different direction by using a monument with a storm background. Does it work? Do I need more gradients?
Dramatic Poster, #feedback welcome!
@lilac minnow I love how you have blend the pattern into the skin, well done!
There a lot of going on with all the patterns, (me my self is more to minimalistic in my expressions.) maybe you should tone down with less bold pattern?
@torpid sinew Loved how you made the text overlap using the fog. Great job!
Okay I will make new with other concept. Today my mind is not working here is mid night in India @young karma
Thanks for the feedback @young karma

Alright! Great.
I would do “Select Object” or that whatever and it should do okay.
And then you can improve the cute
cut*
Select Object?
Something like that.
And then select and mask.
And you can edit the cut from there! :)
Day 7!
😃
@noble glen maybe you can try to add some transparency around the part that is above the water. See how the fish seems to be "fading" as the body goes deep in the river?
Yeah! Great idea, @coral stone. 😊
I mean it's not exactly a landscape, but part of a landscape 😄
@young karma wow! how did you create the flower within the jar? very interesting technique
I love that!
@sterile bane I drew the flower on paper, so I had an idea of what I want to do. and I just made custom shapes with the pen tool and filled it with gradients 😄
You could definitely do that professionally.
It looks amazing.
🙂
@young karma thank you 😃 you're sweet!
Gave +1 Creative Carma to まじ
Of course!
@sterile bane do you need to have all of the nine days done until you will do your last review? I really loved this challenge, and hope there will be more. Your intros to the daily challenges are so useful when learning new techniques.
@harsh charm the goal is to have all 9 done by the end of this weekend, but there's really no time-limit! The goal is to eventually have a finished project for your portfolio and some new skills 😃
@harsh charm and thank you! there will definitely be more PS DCC's 😄

Challenge 7
Day 7 - Dramatic Gradients
day 7
A day behind 😅
@blazing quail I really like the contrast of the b+w foreground and saturated sky.
Day 7 / Dramatic Gradient 😀
Hi guys, this is my day 6 composition. Advice is welcome.
@valid ocean Nice job on that poster ad!
Poster 07_Any feedback appreciated.
DAY FOUR not sure if this is what supposed to be but yes ))
@pulsar walrus omg good job, I think it would be better to use the same font and gradient as the “decide” for all texts but that’s just me
How to make the moon more natural?
texture and shape
could use the smudge tool on the edges
@coral stone Thanks!!
Gave +1 Creative Carma to Valdair Leonardo
@dusky quail I'd probably put a slight black gradient on the moon so it blends a little with the background. I think it would look much more natural
Thanks, I'll give it a shot! @young karma @worn widget @cloud arch

Day 4 - Edit an Image (playing catch up!)
Didn't like any of the mountain text clipping possibilities so gave up and went for clouds. Much happier with result.
@fallow bough great job! I loved the red frame and how it contrasts with the b&w poster 😀
@forest aspen I like the font you used 😀 Good Job!!
@quick mesa Looks great, I would just improve the cut!
@quick mesa Love the pizza and the checkerboard background. So FUN!
@valid ocean wow , obsessed 👍✨
PsDCC5 plant composition. Finally got to challenge 5. Does this composition work?What do you think of the bevel and border break?
Had a lot of difficulty with this one, may have to revisit this challenge sometime with different images 😊
I hope this is dramatic enough 😇 . I did make use of the gradient tool in different ways: "stiching parts together", darkening some highlights and getting some color back from the black-and-white adjustment layer by swiping gradients in on the afj layer mask. All images I used are my own, I will add them FYI.
gradients challenge #7
@silk wind I really like that you add the Full Frame versions as well. So cool to see what u used of what image. And they are a piece of art on their own! Thanks!

Revised Day 7. Realized I blew the heck outta the middle of that rock formation!
I can barely read the text.
I can read it fine but I think you could maybe make it a color that compliments the others better
Finally got caught up.
Nice job @unreal hornet! My only suggestion is to brighten up a little bit the word "MY" so you can increase the contrast and make more legible. 😃
@unreal hornet agreed with Valdair! I love how you hid the letters behind the mountains
Not sure about this, think it works
Hello here is my Day 6, feedback appreciated!😁
@tulip fern - meeoww puss, the legend carries on...can he have a hat?
I promise to give him a hat in tomorrows challenge @high mesa 😃
I think I've got the landscape drama from gradient usage. Can't figure out how to make the text on the poster look good. Any suggestions? Thanks
@plush osprey - thanks for the note

Day 7 working with gradients.
@plush osprey maybe lay a gradient over the text so it's more visible over the darker areas?
I think i definitely works your poster @high mesa . It sure has lots of drama! I am wondering what kind of power the woman has behind the switches......
@tulip fern - man or woman, DJ has ultimate power
Haha @high mesa 😂 I was making up my own story based on your poster: all people crowded together in a room, seperated by glass, thinking they went to a safe place for shelter and then there is a woman behind switches who can do whatever to those people. See that kind of drama is in your poster 😂
@red verge I like it a lot! I love the typography too
@queen onyx Thank you!

Hello everybody, this is my day 7 composition. Let me know what needs improvement.
jea... just realized it looks like it says R*PE

@white temple Thanks for the idea, will give it a go. Hope your throat is better 😃

Dark and ominous with a touch of color. I am not big on landscape so this was a fun challenge.
@sturdy vault Thank you my friend! You are super kind!
Gave +1 Creative Carma to pfordie
@sturdy vault Nice work on Day 7. You might consider playing with the red letters. The "T" in particular is a bit hard to find. Also, I really like that this one building on the lower right hand corner is a bit lighter than the rest. My imagination is taking me there. Perhaps there's an opportunity to tease even more??
@strange jacinth I love the font, title and overall feel of your day 7 poster. This makes me want to know the story behind it. Nice work
@young karma Nice work. I love the dude, the background and the big red font. My only feedback would be to work with the placement of the letters because it took me a second to read the word DJANGO. Unless it's your intention to have a play on word, in which case, it works great.
@wispy fjord Amazing work, I loved it! 😍 If you want, of course, you can reduce a little bit the size of the "07" or maybe change to a subtle color, Right now I believe it's catching more attention than the main text 😃
Here's my contribution to Day 7 of the Photoshop Challenge.
I know what I want to achieve... I just don't think I'm there yet.
All constructive feedback welcome.
@raven atlas the backgrounds a bit grainy compared to the foreground maybe you zoom it out a little? Love the colors and the vibe.
@@wispy fjord thanks for the feedback. I will play with it tomorrow. I forgot my the file at work. As for the building I kept looking at it and wondered if it wasn"t too light.
Day 7 gradients
Yeah... thanks for the heads up, @red verge.
Methinks it's back to the drawing board with this one.
Gave +1 Creative Carma to iBuddhaiMan
@sand current I love the contrast! I feel like it could use either a graphic element or some text on top- maybe even both? I love it how it is, though.
@plush osprey Thank you- I'd like to say it is, but it isn't. It's probably some crazy form of strep or something. I don't have tonsils so the fact that I still get strep often is a testament to my throat's hatred of what I have to say lol.
Gave +1 Creative Carma to BD
@prisma raven wow! really cool 😄 I just wish this shape would align with the natural curve present in the background
@fleet pecan Yeeeees! the high-contrast rocks are a great eyecatcher! I like the grain on the mountains in the background - you should also apply it to the clouds
@fleet pecan if you don't know how to apply realistic grain to a layer, check out my protip https://www.behance.net/gallery/78746469/Photoshop-Protip-Realistic-Grain-in-Camera-Raw 😃
@fleet pecan lol, this poster is AWESOME 😄 The expression of his face - priceless 👌 . I think you could pick another color than this green. It looks very saturated compared to the rest of the poster. you could also add a subtle canvas texture to the otherwise texture-less spots
@raven atlas The colors are almost there! Just two things to think about: the clocktower face is brighter than the sun, I think it should probably be the other way around. And the shadows of the foreground are very red (which makes sense) but the shadows of the building are rather blue-ish. I think you could take out the blue or add more green and red 😃
and like people already mentioned, the grain in the trees is quite noticeable. You could either try to denoise the entire image or just go with a different one 😃
Day 7 - I used gradients just to lighten up the ground a little bit, nothing more.
@glacial path
@glacial path lol thanks👍
@wispy fjord Great work! The sky is super dramatic and the architecture looks really nice 😃 I'm wondering why you have those two lines there - I think you don't need them (unless they're there for a specific reason)
Thank you for the feedback @white temple I changed some things. Hope you like.
Gave +1 Creative Carma to UrsaMajora
one more and thats it.😅
@wicked nexus lol! I think you should make the hole a bit bigger to reveal more of the chicken (?). Right now you have to look at it for a while to find out what it actually is 😃
@sand current how about more muted colors - since the poster has pretty muted colors anyway 😃
@white temple Why not double down on your usual take-good-care-of-yourself. That and some cold ice cream 😉
@cerulean spruce Some nice contrast between Day 4 and 5! Really like the bold colors and texture of Day 4, as well as how you handled the masking of the textures overlapping the figure. I like the simple design and visual balance of Day 5. Looking solid!
@sick flame Really liking the light monochromatic feel of this! Did you use the smudge or liquify tool for some of the texture? Looks nice! The little pin at the top is a nice touch too.
@short mica Wow, this is a pretty crazy image. Really interesting. Really love that abstract/textural background. It kind of depends what you're going for, but It might be nice to ease off the texture a little bit on the figure to separate him from the background a bit more. As it is there's a lot of visual noise happening everywhere. Perhaps get rid of the warped areas of his legs, or if you want to go that direction you could push it even further. Give it more warp and pull in a direction, and maybe almost have the bottom of him melting/warping into abstractness. The way there's just a little of it at the moment reads a bit oddly. Just some thoughts, really cool images and great colors!
@fallow bough Looking good Ken! On small tweak that I think could help would be to maybe darken down the outside of the chain link fence, currently the lighting seems uniform across the whole fence. Though when zoomed out you kind of get that effect since the background and fence values sort of visually blend together a bit. Nice work!
@sturdy vault Really cool, I like the sense of perspective you got in the image! A couple suggestions that might look cool would be to mask off the texture ont he child and elephant to separate them from the background a bit. It might also be cool to see another square patch of grass underneath the elephants lead leg. Give it an addition feeling of perspective and seeing repeated elements done in 3s often work well. Well done Pfordie!
@digital pollen Really nice! This has a cool style to it. Nice composition and colors, really consistent look! Everything is so smooth currently, it could be a nice contrast to pop out the subjects in the center by adding a bit of a texture to the background. Nice work!
@high mesa Great colors and textures! Really gives the image a bold feel. It might be nice to leave the text without a texture to separate it from the figure a bit more. Though that's a minor difference. Perhaps a thinner border might give it a more elegant feel and not compete with the center as much.
@wispy fjord Ooh, looks good! I like the lace look you have going with it. I think it may balance the whole image a bit more if you get some of that lace pattern on the right side like the rest of the border has. Maybe just a small part showing at least, it’s nice to have a little of that clear visual space for the eye to rest.
@sand current your design is so pleasing to the eyes. Well done!👌
Gave +1 Creative Carma to SamPetersonArt
@bleak fossil thanks, I will play with it. Somehow I lost the grass under my grandson. I will play with it under the elephant or him. I will also play with texture. I wasn't sure about how much texture to lose so I had the elephant beginning to break out.
My first go on the poster for day 6. Feedback is welcome!
Day 6 PLaying catch up. What do you think?
@bleak fossil Thanks! I was actually playing around with Stylize - Oil Paint on that one. Got some nice effects that differentiate the piece from others. I appreciate the comments!

Day 7 Playing with gradients on the dark side
Super late because of class.. but here is day 4, a picture of my mom and I 😊
@plush osprey that sounds like a really good idea. Especially the ice cream 🍨
@bold valley I love it! Just a quick thing- do you mean "existential" threat? Also, I think the poster number is kind of hard to read, and if you're looking for a little more drams, you could possibly add more of a contrast or shadow to the "layer" between the desert floor and sky.
Hello everyone!😀 can anyone provide me feedback on my work? any advice would really help. I also have a quick question to ask should I try to place the text in the middle? cause I feel that it's leaning too close to the left.
@woeful storm I'm really liking these images for Day 7! I really like how you handled the pink accent color and the masking. The masking is done in a way which is fairly bold and really draws some nice focus. Very nice visual balance in terms of shapes and contrast on both images as well.
@bold valley Very nice, really digging this dramatic and somewhat surreal image for Day 7! Loving the vibe. The text is a cool effect, though I think the spacing/angle between the A and F in “after” as well as the E and N in “exentential” could use some adjusting. Also, did you mean “existential”? Just a small spelling issue. Seems like some of the other letters could use some fine tuning too if you want to push it any further. Looking good!
@bleak fossil thank you so much 😃.
Gave +1 Creative Carma to SamPetersonArt
@fiery trail Love the contrast in this image! Really cool feel with the black and white and the yellow is a cool pop of color. Though perhaps the saturation could be tweaked down slightly? I do feel like the visual weight is a bit heavy to the left, but I think it could be cool to move the word "Rise" to the right a bit, and the word "Up" down and to the right behind the other rocks as well as make it bigger to make it look like it’s closer. Here's a really crude paint-over to show what I mean. Though it may not be the best example of where to place each letter, I like how you had the variation with the letters being higher and lower.
@fringe thicket You got some nice contrast going on with this image! The bottom shapes you used on the cut out of the girl seems a little odd. It's an interesting shape, but almost doesn't feel deliberate enough since it's mostly hidden. It might be a cool choice that would add some interest in shape and depth if you extended her lower half below the netting. Make her shape break out a little more and feature that curved design a bit more prominently. Just a thought, well done!
Here it is with the greenish/yellow number, I think that stands out a little bit better.
@bleak fossil I agree. I worked landscape and then cropped the image to fit the poster. The shading I did on the fence was lost to the cropping.
Suggested Changes.
Day 6 - Distort a photo
PsDCC4 edit image: nAlmost slipped on this one. I was traveling that day.
Day 5. Lots of funky tools in Photoshop that I have never used! The flower means "Mar's weed" in Japanese.
@glacial path
Many thanks for the feedback.. Here's the thing.: image is a composite of three images. Interestingly, the foreground was the only one not taken night time; in fact, I made that shot at about 4om on a sunny June Sunday. The clocktower (St Pancras) was an early morning shot (the clock face(s) are illuminated) and the sun is actually the moon..
Why did I just tell you all this.... probably because I should've told myself before setting out on this crazy idea! Then maybe I wouldn't have. But I started, so I'll finish!
Gave +1 Creative Carma to evil
@wicked nexus Haha, very nice! I’m liking the idea. It took me a few seconds to actually realize what I was looking at. It might help to make the who bigger, or have the chickens head actually popping out by masking out the fencing around the top of the chicken’s head and beak.
@sand current Really cool! I think the bold blue might be a little overpowering at the moment? Maybe toning down the saturation might make it harmonize more with the desert colors? I also feel like the image is missing something... an object of interest, another shape, or something in the foreground like a snake for example. It just seems like it needs a bit more of a focal point aside from the text to make it really grab the viewer. Just some thoughts. But I’m liking that background gradient and that hazy look!
@prisma raven Really interesting imagery on this, kind of a trippy feeling of perspective going on! That gradient is looking really nice too, definitely draws the eye
Puppet Warp is so cool! I played around with it, but didn't end up using it with this one. Nice new trick though!
@past crag Nice! Often times a subtle gradient or adjustment is all you need to do the trick. I would recommend trying to darken down the text for “Green” to get the effect of it being back lit as well as applying a small blur to the cast shadow. I think both of those might set the text in the scene even more. Nice work Nick!
@fleet pecan Day 6 and 7 are looking good! Love the expression of the dog in Day 6. In Day 7. I like how you’re getting that hazy look in the mountains but I’d try going a little softer on the effect as it currently looks a little unnatural. And maybe make the gradation a little more gradual. I think in such a dark image a little will go a long way.
@raven atlas Really cool! I think it's good you know what you're going for, definitely helps you understand more about the process and what you need to learn. I think currently the level of focus and lighting doesn't fit as well as it could. The environment is quite dark and not very sharp, whereas the building is a lot less blurry/sharper and much lighter which makes it a bit more out of place. Perhaps use a levels adjustment to brighten the landscape ever so slightly, and even blur the building just a tiny tiny bit, or use some sort of noise overlay. I also think you could try toning down the deepest darks around the far bushes and the building. Lightening up the deepest darks slightly should give it a sense of atmospheric perspective and haze. Not sure if you saw the streams with Brooke Shaden earlier this week but she's great at this kind of stuff. https://www.behance.net/live/videos/2921/Creative-Business-Protips-with-Brooke-Shaden-1-of-2
@rare ocean Really cool, that's a great picture of you two! I love what you did with the lunch bag too, breaking that frame really gives it a bit more flair. Nice work!
@bleak fossil thanks for the feedback! I'll mess around with your suggestions.
Gave +1 Creative Carma to SamPetersonArt
@sturdy vault Love it! Really digging those changes, I feel like they really add something. My only little suggestion might be to match the perspective to what you already have established. The front grass patch matches the boy and elephant really well, but the back grass patch looks tilted. Maybe something more like this?
@wispy fjord Great job, this turned out to be a really cool image. That sky definitely it a dramatic and ominous feel! I feel like the ground is almost a little too bright to fit in with the lighting of the sky and rest of the scene. Maybe just tweak it down ever so slightly? I don’t think much is needed. Well done!
@young karma Really cool spooky and dramatic lighting in that image! I don't know if the placement of the font seems to fit with the rest of the image, though I like how it adds a bit of color. Fonts aren't my area of expertise, but maybe something a little more angular to fit the theme of the building, and perhaps not tilted back and forth, which reads more as playful to me. Thought that's just my first impression. Nice job!
@runic pendant Great image! That purple and yellow color contrast really creates some great contrast. I think the mountain on the right most side is pulling a bit too much focus as the moment with how bright and yellow it is. It might be nice to darken it down a bit and maybe add some of the purple haze to tone it down. Its competing a bit with the text at the moment. I think perhaps a thicker text could work to pull more focus too. Really nice work 😄
@valid crow Really nice, great colors in this! It's a bit of a nitpick but I feel like the plant in the bottom right could be smaller in size. It might balance more by not being the same exact size as the green plant next to it, and will tone down the visual weight on the right side which I think will create a better balance. Very subtle but might help. Looks great!
@minor vine Interesting colors and textures. For Day 4 That red/orange really creates a strong, bold image. Currently I think it might be better to show more of the figure or have it a complete silhouette. Right now I don't think a few key points of hair showing adds much to it. Though perhaps you could show the whole figure (without the texture affecting it) but just darken it down a lot so he seems very dimly lit. Just some ideas. The other images are looking great, solid work!
@cold cedar Really love the effect you went for on this image, works very nicely! The colors also compliment each other very well, nice soft and warm hues. I did notice that the paper ripping effect is lost a bit on those soft feathered edges on the bottom of the top tear, and the top of the bottom tear. Though this also gives it a slightly surreal/dream like feel and perhaps that’s what you were going for. Looking good!
@bleak fossil Thanks for the input, Day 4 was the one i was curious about. I was going for bold, but didn't know if it was too bold or if it worked

I'm only on day 3 but hoping to catch up. Feedback is welcome!
@bold gorge looks great! I would make sure there is enough drop shadow in front of the "S" and the "&", so that it looks like they are paper layers, if that makes sense. I also am wondering if "Hills and Valleys" works if there are very spiky and peaky mountains in the composition, but I can't come up with another phrase. Just some things to think about.
@white temple thank you! I didn't even noticed how small the drop shadows on some letters looked so I will def fix that. And I see, I guess the right phrase would be "Mountains & Valleys" instead haha
Gave +1 Creative Carma to UrsaMajora
@bold gorge It's a super small detail so I wouldn't worry about it too much lol

Day 6. Feels good to catch up! One of the hardest things about these challenges to me is finding cool content to play with. What about you?
Worthie08, this command is disabled in this channel
I agree @lunar abyss , sometimes I have to wait for the inspiration to hit. Almost like the lack of rules and guidelines is the biggest challenge.
@blissful wolf Nice work BeaNeto, looking solid! I think it might help to simplify the color/values of the texture on the lower left of the kid’s sweatshirt. Currently the texture/color contrast is drawing the eye in a confusing way. I think simplifying it to be more of a solid color will keep the face and eyes as a solid focal point. Really liking the color scheme of this image!
@lunar abyss For sure! The Warp and Puppet Warp tools have so much potential they can be used for. Though of course for your image I think too much curvature would look unnatural. Great tool to have though. Really loving the simplicity of this one, color works with it nicely as well!
@red verge Love it! Really cool to see your source images too, really helps see the process you used. Very nice job compositing them all together, looks quite seamless. I really like what you did with the text masking as well, though I currently think the V makes a bit of a confusing tangent with the post next to it. I'm not sure if there's an easy adjustment to be made so the V doesn't line up with the post near the edge so much, but just a thought. Images came out great!
My Day 6 Feeling pretty happy.
@wispy fjord Thanks! I get what you mean about the text, I guess I just liked the way it filled the space 😅 The guy is Franco Nero as Django in the first/original Django!

@magic rampart the "and" could be a bit smaller IMO, if you have to add transparency to make it readable you're probably better of just scaling it down 😃 The Sky is lovely - if you can somehow darken this part of the sea (it would be dark because of the sky) - it would tie the whole thing together
Hi guys, here is my Day 6 😃
@glacial path good idea, thanks I'll do that 😀
Gave +1 Creative Carma to evil
Day 7
@amber crystal Well done! The orange/yellow border and the black&white photo are a perfect match 😃
any feedback would be lovely, thanks!
@amber crystal the subtle grain is a great addition and the paint ribbon is brilliant! Just watch out for her elbow, it looks like the mask is a bit sharp there (I know this is a super minor detail 😉 )
@glacial path thanks! when I finish I realize something like Nat geo identity.😆
Gave +1 Creative Carma to evil
@glacial path for sure! In this case I have to complete the elbow from original photo to be more plastic... so with this details go with the flow thanks again!!👌
@glacial path Any better?
day8
@magic rampart close, but I was thinking more along the lines of
running way late and still not sold on this look - Day 6 I think ?
Day 5 late and erratic . But definitely cosmic
@void ermine I think it's a great start! You could try wrapping some vines around the light pole! Since the sign is centered the poster is cut up into 4 squares, so to create some movement for the eye you might want to think about using some of the space in the corners or moving the position of the pole. Just a few ideas - hope that helps 😃
thanks @coral stone . It seemed really readable yesterday. but today it is harder to ready the "MY"
Gave +1 Creative Carma to Valdair Leonardo
Still playing catch up and still learning a lot!
@Kathleen#4776 is the gradient ok? Thanks in advance
@trail rose Hi! try add a gradient behind the mountain to add more deep to the Tipography 👌
Not sure this truly qualifies as poster 7, but what the heck.
@amber crystal between the topography and the sky?
@trail rose no no, between the mountains and SOLITUDE
@amber crystal thanks a lot!!!

A bit of an adjustment
@plain sable very nice!
So I came home, took one look at it and decided that all I'm going to do is increase the overall exposure.. I've saved the PSD file, so I'll review it another time... now on to the next one!

Daily Challenge Poster 7
Day 8. Animals we saw in a recent trip to Namibia. Any alternate suggestions for the text?
Challenge 8.What do you think,thanks for your feedback
#07😅 late as always
Hello everyone! Here's my day 8. I always wanted to make an Old West poster style 😂. I used a combination of paper textures, blend modes, grain, blend if for the text and color lookup.
oh, that's great @coral stone
@sterile bane hiya - sorry i missed class today! can't believe it's thursday already. really loved the challenges and the way they work together, thanks so much! (here is all the ones i have together ...)

@hearty wharf wow! love seeing them together.. it's powerful to see a project coming to completion 😄
almost! will catch the replay now ...!
My final Day 7. For now...Any suggestions on improvements? I feel like this needs to be cropped to a different size.
Day 8 / Make a poster
@spark wharf I love the transparency and the overlap you applied to the word "SPACE". Great job!
@thick vale these colors are amazing 😍 My only suggestion is that you could remove the blur from the words, especially in "COLOR". Well done! 😃
Here is my Day 8 poster!
Day 8 - Graphics and text, using illustrator to get the text on a circular path
@blazing quail Cool poster! I love the colour palette and concept. You can totally feel the movement with the circular text and the main typeface's curvy design. One thing I'd suggest is to make your "08" match the colour scheme. I feel like since it's so different it becomes a focal point and looks out of place. Good work though!
Day-6 transform tools and filters and give me feedback
DAY 08 - my photshop just crashed before I finished, so this is it
@silk wind Top notch colour palette in my opinion. Looks like you had some fun experimenting with type and I think it pays off in the final design. Very simple concept but I think that adds to the effectiveness. Cool!
I just realised that my poster is not in poster layout 😦 day 8
Thank you to @sick flame for the kind words and suggestion

@sterile bane Are you going to be doing any more videos once this challenge is over? I love working along side with you, your workflow is so easy to follow, your personality is awesome, and you seem like you actually enjoy helping us get better.
thank you
glad of the output using gradient as shadows. What you guys think? feedback plx
I probably should have been promoting these workshops for the whole challenge, but I've been having too much fun to get down to business.
Challenge #6 - good fun!
From yesterday’s challenge
Day 8 back to the days ! Local fests and strong beliefs
Day 8 - Any suggestions? I ended up changing the background color to a lighter shade to contrast with the color used in the foreground.
I really like the color. The vibe definitely feels like a poster! Nice touch! @fallow bough 😌
Day 7 - Distort a Photo
Small change. Curly in the lower right was completely washed out. Tweaked Levels to make visible.
Poster for day 8 - Probably play around with the colours later
@fallow bough nice one - Curly, Mo and Joe, have I got that right?
day-7- landscape by using gradients
Had some trouble laying the text especially the "a pest" part Spiders graphics were made from pictures of the spiders I get in my Apartment.
also unsure of my border on this one
Day 8 ! Used some illustration I did a while back
Catching up again... Here's my Day 7 poster.. I used a couple photos I took in Badlands National Park, S. Dakota a couple years ago. Feedback welcome.
Day 8! I really like it.
@timid pasture Suggest a bit brighter white on text. Hard to read.
@young karma very cool illustration and love how it interacts with the text. what was the illustration for?
Am a bit late but here is my day 7. Feedback welcomed
hello chat! i've cought up on day8!
My poster for day 7! Couldn't think of text so decided to use a quote of Ansel Adams 🙃
Not sure if the image is too dark/black and definitely not sure about the red circle, but I thought the image needed a bit of color (I think Ansel Adams wouldn't approve 😝 )
@sterile bane i've watched the replay, really cool filters you've shown today - thanks!

@hearty wharf glad you enjoyed!
@silk wind so cool - i loved twin peaks.
@bleak fossil thanks for your feedback yesterday on my poster for day 6! I extended the body of the girl a bit and I cut out some of the lace so the shape of the body is more visible

Here's my contribution to the penultimate day of the Photoshop Challenge.... and I must say I've learned a heck of a lot! Many thanks to @sterile bane for two weeks of fun, as well as the mentors and family members for your feedback.
This one I intended to keep simple. As always, constructive feedback welcome.

@young karma
Very nice, indeed! Looks like a front cover.
Suggestion: just fade the background image ever so slightly, just so the text (especially the main text) pops a bit more.
Having a nightmare doing day 8 so I went back a day and did day 7 instead lol. think i will rest and go back to 8 though I am really struggling for inspiration 🤦
@scenic forge oh no, that's a frustrating feeling! I found looking at vintage pen & ink illustrations to be very inspiring. This stock contributor has a great collection: https://stock.adobe.com/contributor/200776522/juulijs?load_type=author&prev_url=detail
Thank you @sterile bane I will have a look 😁

Day 8 !! Here is my poster.
@grand dove wow. That’s so awesome you can go hiking in the mtns. !! Love the image! When I first read it I read the word step first. Could just be me though! In both our defense... I did figure it out lol.
@grand dove Great poster, Siska. The only thing I would maybe change is the outline as it is the first thing I see.
This is my day 5 poster. Trying to catch up!
I love the text you put on there, @split frigate. It's really nice!
Finally done with my day 8, hope you like it. Would really love to here your feedback.
Day 8 Snap it Up, little fellow.
Day 8...artistic block.
Day 8 - Just to see if anyone could get the idea...
This is a poster for a book I like. I have lots of layers that I ended up turning off to make it more simple.
Thanks @young karma I tried with a darker outline, it makes the text and photo more in focus 😃 @void ermine I'm very fortunate to live close to mountains! Haha I was worried it wouldn't read right but I liked the placement of the words on that one. The other version I made might work better?

@sterile bane thx! It was a personal design I did for fun for D-Day and the flowers were a separate illustration I did for a musical artist a couple months back. I decided to merge them and make a design that way. Appreciate the creative challenge. Really have learned a lot
Here is another version....just playing around some more.
@blissful badge nice design I love it, but maybe you can try adding the prints behind the deers just to add more depth to it
Day #6....I am behind
Day 7 🏙
Thanks @zinc lava . I removed some of the tracks to give the illusion... they were actually on the bottom already.

@blissful badge this looks much better now
@scenic forge Just now I was scrolling and I felt like your poster actually moved — like it was 3D. That was cool. I did a few times just to see. Very nice!👏
@fallow bough suggested brighter text, and I agree it was a little hard to read. I also used a different font. I was trying to decide whether to leave it at the bottom, or move it to the top. So I did both. I'd be interested in which you all prefer...
Here's the second version.
@sterile bane - You're the Grapics Guru 😁 - what 'cha think?
Now, to get day 8 done...
@uncut shell So pretty! Great design
I HAD to stick a Fell Beast in there someplace..... 😉
@timid pasture I feel like your type is sticking out an awful lot. Comic Sans is perhaps not a good choice for most things in my opinion, but especially for something medieval like Lord of The Rings. I went back and saw your original typeface and I think it was a lot more suitable for the subject matter. I think you should keep something like the original, but with the positioning like your most recent version, with the text at the top. Just my opinion though! Cool detail with the beast in the background. 👌
@sick flame I didn't think that was comic sans, but looking at it now, it is similar... Too much coffee today (or not enough... 😉). I try to avoid CS like the plague.. Let's see what I can find...
@timid pasture haha yeah, looks a lot like Comic Sans MS Bold to me. As long as you don't switch it to Comic Sans Regular you should be better off 😂
@timid pasture Hi. Like your image. Is this a composite with a separate sky? I am thinking the mountain could use some contrast, perhaps, a levels adjustment? The rocks have so much character that seems muted, unless that is your intent. Then, right on.
@sick flame GAH! It was CS.... What was I thinking? Where's my coffee? 😂 Anyway... Here's the latest with an Old English font... Hopefully, J.R.R. would approve! 😁
@cold cedar Yeah, it's a composite of 2 photos - the closer , somewhat lighter formations in the foreground, and the darker formations and sky in the BG. I wnted to keep it alittle muted and 'Mordor-ish' but I might bump the contrast and darken the foreground a tad..
comic sans!!!! ❌
@timid pasture much better! haha
@timid pasture Googled Mordor images and I see what you mean. Some are very muted.
@zinc lava I may be bias because I love kitties. Haha! I would take a second look at the typography hierarchy. The title and the subtitle seem to be at the same level of importance from the sizing. Also consider padding or breathing room on the top and bottoms of each line. the more you pay careful attention to these small details, the more it will appear effortlessly beautiful.
Here is my Day 08 entry. The cat in the image I have been using this whole challenge is Grigio. He became our cat at 8 weeks old, he was found on the streets together with 3 siblings but without a mother. The first 8 weeks he was taken care of by de Dierenbescherming (the Dutch Animal Protection). So hereby some spotlight for the good work they do.
@tulip fern from afar it looks like a Cat Tornado. 😂
I muted the foreground a bit, and selectively darkened some of the formations in the BG to push them back a little bit.. I like it even better.. Thanks for all the great feedback! 👍 I shall now go and do pennance for not paying attention and using comic sans... Please.. No floggings today... My vines have tender grapes... 🤣
@sick flame I am really enjoying the movie feels of this poster. It instantly reminded me of some of my favorite movies, Metropolis, Vertigo, Blade Runner🎥 . I like the red overprint because its imitating print 🖨 but I think the title "The City" is out of place. Try making the full title vertical. Currently it reads as "Road outta the city" but it took me some time to sort out in which order I should read each word.
🤓
Day 8 design a poster
@sick flame I really like the 'Road Outta the City' poster! Good use of leading lines. 👍
@timid pasture @lucid moss Don't get me started on Comic Sans...👽 One lesson I've taken from Comic Sans' unpopularity is that as Graphic Designers 💻 its our role to make elements work, they can't always arrive in a golden platter, ready to beautify our design💅 . Comic Sans won't do all the work for you in this case because it doesn't fit this poster. In fact it makes it look like a parody🃏 , but if thats what you were after I would suggest not to just disregard this font at face value, it can come in handy when parody is what you're after.
After all, its history of infamy is universal, use it when it fits 👌
Messed up, was meant to be doing Day 7 but i realised I didnt use any gradients by the time I finished what I was doing so its just another Day 4 😂
@grand dove Great Play on hiding the words behind the mountains. One great aspect of 2d design is when the viewer is able to detect a feeling more dimension. This is a great way to do that.👽 💯
@harsh helm But gradients are so fun...🙃
They are, I just forgot to use them because I kept trying to make the image look right. I was using them for most of the design and then I just cut them out when I changed the entire idea so now it uses none haha
@harsh helm Love the use of the texture here
@lilac minnow Thank you ^-^
Gave +1 Creative Carma to bianca says
@vale socket I used it for a long time in my webcomic - mainly because it seemed to be easy to read. then I found out about its unpopularity, and I'm now using a different font. It's still easy to read, and now all the graphic artists out there have stopped throwing rotten fruit at me.. 😂. It's called Houschka Rounded Demibold - I think it might even be an Adobe font.. Live and learn..
Now, let's see if I can put something decent together for day 8! Spoiler alert.... It won't have snakes.... 😁
@timid pasture I think you had a good instinct there to use it on webcomic, it does have that kid - handwriting element to it. I would just go in and play with the kerning, leading, breathing space... The poor font needs a little help of course 🤓 I love going against the grain and trying the things others don't dare to change.
I don't recall anyone going down in history for throwing rotten tomatoes🍅 , but I have heard of the changers and shakers that have 😉
Holy Guac. I struggled mightily with this one, messed up my workflow and had to come up with a way to recover my work. Yikes. It's Thursday night. Done. I am going for ice cream and calling it a day.
@harsh helm it's hard to see the tittle... Try creating a hierarchy with the two words. The word Rosea has potential with a more interesting font. Look for a complimenting font that imitates or resembles the flower itself.
@wispy fjord 🍦 yumm ice cream.... haha sorry you distracted me🙃 . I really like the turnout of this one actually. Everything has a hierarchy even through its a chaotic scene. I don't know why but my eye keeps seeing a thread 〰 in between the scissors flying about. It could be an interesting element to add to this fantasy- like space you've created✨
This is my day 8 design. Let me know what ya think!
Take 2... of day 6... still playing catch up this week!
@distant meteor Really awesome piece, dude. Very professional looking. You have a great grasp on how to successfully create a visually striking typographic hierarchy. The colour palette is nice too. One thing I noticed is the underside of the fish looks a little...weird to me. As if part of it is missing. There's also a very subtle large grid pattern on the fish. Was this intentional? These things are very small nitpicks because the piece is fantastic overall. Good job!
Amazing fonts choice @distant meteor! Loved your poster ❤
@timid pasture Hah, nice work Rod. The edits are looking good! Currently there’s a lot of brightness and empty space at the bottom of the image. I think a simple gradient on a multiply layer could be used to darken down the foreground a bit to pull more contrast into the sky. I think you could even brighten up the sky slightly and lighten up the dragon silhouette to sell that atmospheric perspective effect a bit more. Here’s a quick example. Looking good!
@harsh helm Very nice! You have some really nice shapes going on with your flowers, looking good! Day 7 is looking good too, perhaps there could be some kind of gradient you use at the top that fades downwards to get the top a bit more brightness? Maybe almost a colored galaxy effect? Might put a little more visual weight at the top to balance the heavy weight of the red at the bottom. Just a thought. Nice work on these!
@wispy fjord Hah, nice work! Gotta get that well deserved ice cream. On the bright side there is often a lot of experience and lessons learned to be gained from those pieces that we struggle with. Really loving the style and simple color scheme in this! The only suggestion I might have to perhaps try getting a little more variety in the size of your scissors to strengthen that visual hierarchy. Looks good though!
@prisma raven Very solid design! Love the way you handled the graphic shapes and text. The color and shape of the snake work perfectly to act as a focal point. The design of it looks like it could work really well as a book cover. Very well done Jeff.
Thanks for the awesome feedback @sick flame good spotting. I must've missed the selection on the subject.
Gave +1 Creative Carma to cavi
@tulip fern Love it! My girlfriend and I foster cats and work with a rescue so this really cool to see. I really like that effect you’re using and how it fades into abstraction a bit. It could be cool to see if effect less strongly around the cats’s head so you start to see more of it’s normal shape which might act as a nice focal point, then have it fade more into abstraction as it moves away. That focus around the head might also help balance out some of the visual weight at the bottom. Well done!
@bleak fossil thanks!
Gave +1 Creative Carma to SamPetersonArt
@void ermine Nice work! I think having multiple goes at a challenge helps to really sink your teeth into the techniques. I like the effects you have going on but think maybe it could be pushed even further. The top and bottom of the pole seem to be stretched, but it doesn’t seem distorted enough to seem deliberate. If you wanted to extend the pole I think duplicating the text over the stretched parts could make it look more natural, but if you want to give it a distorted effect maybe blur the top and bottom slightly, or perhaps play a little bit with warping the shapes in a more unnatural way as they extend towards the edges of the page. Keep up the great work!
@bleak fossil Oh great idea! I guess in that way I can make it fit the brief more haha. Thank you for the feedback.
@vale socket Yeah I agree the font definitely needs changing. Ill get to work on that as soon as I can. Cheers!
Gave +1 Creative Carma to SamPetersonArt
@distant meteor Great cohesive look to this! Everything fits together really well.You have some really nice visual balance between the text and fish as well. Also really liking your choice of fonts. Looks good!
Here is my first attempt at challenge 8. I still need help with typography.
@sick flame Good catch (I couldn't help myself) on @distant meteor's fish.
@blissful badge Some really nice textures and colors going on in this! Looking good. I think when you have too many transparent layers on top of each other an image can start to get a little busy or visually confusing. I think a small change that might balance this image out a bit more would be to Have one of your deer overlap the other without any transparency. The blue deer covering the drawn deer might make more sense perspective wise, but perhaps the opposite might look better visually. I think either way it might give the whole image a more solid look. Just a thought. Really serene feeling to this one!
@vale socket thanks for the tip I will try and fix that
Gave +1 Creative Carma to CynLagos
@bleak fossil Ooooo, yeah! I like that...... I'll give it a shot! 👍
Here's my day 8 attempt (and a little shameless promotion... 😂) Sorry, no snakes! 😉
@sick flame your poster reminds me of Batman and Gotham city. I love the look and feel to it. Dark and mysterious with a lot of interest. Absolutely awesome.
@magic lark thank you! I appreciate that! I love playing around with some blacks, whites and reds and it helps with that sorta vibe i think
Gave +1 Creative Carma to elishagraceh
The struggle is real on this one. I am not happy with the typeface on the bottom but not sure what to do.
@sick flame Really interesting! Kind of a trippy surreal feel with that road at the top. The red text and graphic gives it a sort of dangerous feel. Very intriguing. Nice work!
@lone hare Love this one. Simple distortion effect but very well executed and effective. Gives the whole image a really bizarre yet intriguing feel. The colors work extremely well alongside this effect too. Glad you’re able to jump in for some of these, always great to see what you’re producing!
@dusty pond Great work, really effective image! It's a small suggestion, but I think making the blue text just a touch darker might help it read a little better by separating it even more from the background. Or even lightening up the trumpet ever so slightly. I think currently the contrast between the two elements are competing a bit. Looks great though!
@queen onyx Really digging how you made a nice focal point in the camera lens with the blue color. Very effective without being overpowering for the more minimal design of the poster. Typography has never been my strength, but I think making the type all caps could help, and if the top text becomes too large at that point it might be interesting to try “Finding” at the top and “your eye” at the bottom. Nice work Nikiya!
@grand dove That's awesome to use you using your own photography! Must be great to live in an area with a lot of natural beauty. I like your most recently version, though I wonder if moving “One” slightly to the left, and “Step” a little more to the right might make it flow better? Perhaps even putting a little gradient in the sky could help, though that may not be the effect you’re going for. Really liking the flow of the text in your image!
@wispy fjord I really like this being seamstress myself it is so true. The only thing for me is I struggled trying to read the typeface at the bottom.
@vale socket made a few adjustments to the spacing, how does it look now
Used @bleak fossil 's suggestion to add a gradient on a multiply layer to add some drama to the foreground. I used a luminosity layer and a layer mask to add a bit of atmospheric haze to the distance and the Fell Beast. I like it!
thanks @bleak fossil Ya, I was originally going for a distortion just at the edges... like somethign was happening near the edges of the frame that wasn't in the centre, but as I added other elements, looking at it now, I think you're right... it doenst' look deliberate enough... gah... this one really has me annoyed lol... in a good and bad way... I'll keep working on it... in the mean time I've gotta keep on with the other ones lest I fall too far behind!
Gave +1 Creative Carma to SamPetersonArt
@grand dove I do like the new arrangement of text better... Nice job! I agree with @bleak fossil though... I think he's got it with the slight adjustment... it makes a difference I think. Awesome job!
Hello everyone😀 I just made my poster, so my question is should I add more music notes? or should I try to do something more creative in the background like change one of the sides with a different color?
Day 6 is still giving me a run for my money, and well up in the air... but I think I'm pretty happy with day 7... Thoughts and comments of any sort always welcome 😃
